Some of our favorite things to do at the AKL are:

Viewing the animals
Boma and Jiko
the Pool

What else do you like to do at the AKL?

We stayed there for 8 nights in October of 2002. My favorite things to do there was:

1. Sitting on the balconey watching the animals.
2. Having one of those blue drinks (can't remember the name).
3. Shopping in the marketplace.
4. The pool.
5. Did I mention one of the blue cocktails you can get at either bar? Yummy.
6. The hot tub was quite nice too.
7. I loved walking through the lobby on my way to the bar to get one of those blue drinks.

Number one is just walking into the lobby -- LOVE IT!
Number two is watching the animals from the balcony.

1. Drinking coffee while watching the animals from my balcony in the early morning hours *and I am NOT a morning person!*

2. Taking in the fantastic atmosphere and checking on the animals while walking to where I need to be at that moment, whether it be Zawadi Marketplace, the pool bar, the lobby, or the concierge lounge!

3. Walking into the lobby and smelling the air, realizing that "I am home!"

1. Watching the animals while relaxing on the balcony - very calming.

2. Going on the hidden Mickey hunt. We spoke to several very helpful CMs in the process. You can ask at the desk for a list of hidden Mickeys.

We really loved AKL the week we spent there. I had some great yummy drink there too that I got from Boma. Can't remember its name though - it wasn't blue though either - more maroonish - but it was very yummy!!

FAVS:

1)sitting on my balcony listening to the AKL music while watching the pool visitors.
2)watching the animals and walking around to all the different animal look-out points
3)Enjoying the AKL zero-entry pool. Zero-entry was a big hit with my DD who was only 2 1/2 at the time.
4)BOMA!
5)CM's - I found all the cm's here very friendly

Getting up early in the morning and sitting by the pool without anyone else there.

Sitting on the balcony having coffee early in the morning watching the animals eat.

The Relaxed atmosphere at this resort!

The smiles on the children playing in the pool. Families being together having quality time.

I do know in September the first thing I will do is get a blue drink from the bar after being at the parks! I did not have one last time.

I've never stayed at the AKL...but probably will eventually because the AP rates are so low...

Haven't stayed at AKL yet but have eaten at boma twice.It's now my best buffet meal at WDW

Like one of the previous posters, am also planning 2 AKL days at the end of my dvc stay next month. We have Savannah view. For all of you who enjoy watching the animals from your balcony, is there one area of the hotel that's best for this? I mean one savannah view section to request?

My favorite savannah view room so far was a second floor, zebra trail room overlooking Arusha rock and savannah.
