Your Disney Jar

Mine is a little different because I save my Disney and restaurant GCs, tickets, TiW card, Landry's Select Card, National Emerald Aisle ID, DVC membership card and anything else related to a Disney trip in it. It was originally a "treasure box" that had been given to my daughter as a birthday present by a classmate. The box was a floral patchwork that never appealed to my daughter, so it sat in the back of her closet until she moved out a few years ago. So, I spray painted it gold (because gold was the only color of spray paint that I had) and decorated it with some unused Disney scrapbook stickers. The box came with a cute little heart-shaped lock that I still use even though I know that it won't really keep anyone out if they are really motivated to open the box.

I throw any and all loose change into a Disney popcorn bucket. My bank has a change machine so I can bring it in any time I want..... but I'm trying to fill two buckets before I bring them in.... I have one and a half currently. But my TRUE Disney money is cash in a well-hidden envelope.... hidden from ANY and ALL. It is available to use in case of extreme emergency (hence why it is CASH and not Disney Dollars or Disney gift cards), but dedicated to Disney if nothing urgent crops up. It gets added to just like the emergency envelope, the tuition envelopes, the Christmas envelope, the new car envelope.... but not usually as much per month as the other envelopes. If I am working a side hustle specifically for Disney money, that money is logged in as STRICTLY Disney money! I'm not busting my hiney helping someone move or clean out a basement just for money for new tires!..............P

That's great! I do something similar I have been saving for 9 months now and put up to $100+ every month. I do the same for the kids, they have their own envelope and if they get bday money or sell something of theirs they put half away for Disney. My 11 year old already has close to $150 and she just started saving a few months ago.

Don't have a picture but I use an old popcorn bucket from the park! Fill it up and then take it to coinstar at Walmart. You can get a Walmart giftcard and in return get a Disney gift card!! Empty my change from my purse every Sunday!

It truly pains me to hear you are using coin star. There are so many better ways to cash in for disney. Here are a few suggestions.
Deposit the change into your bank account (for free) then either buy you gift cards at the grocery store with a credit card (for cash back) and free fuel.
If you want to go a step further you could deposit into you bank account, buy ebay gift cards from grocery store then buy disney cards from ebay. In this scenario you would get the cash back or miles from your cc, gas points from buying the ebay gift cards and ebay bucks from buying the disney cards from ebay and last but not least you can go though a shopping portal to shop on ebay to get an extra 1% back.
Hope this helps :)

I have a large vase that has a pink, oriental design. I put my change and at times dollars in it. Our last trip the vase had $398 in it that we used for keepsakes at WDW.

If you take your money on a gift card at Coin Star there is no fee.

They don't look this good after 2 years and over $1000 worth of coins added and emptied once a month!

Our change (and random 1's) go into our Disney Taxi bank that we got last year at WDW. You can't see the slot becuase its on the top so it does't look like a bank. I cash in every three months - the cash goes back into the bank if there isn't enough to purchase a gift card and the change always goes back into the bank to restart.

Our actual vacation money to pay it off goes straight into our savings account until the packages come out (or until we are at WDW and book a bounce back)

I love the popcorn bucket idea - i will have to look for one on our next vacation!
