Your Disney Dream Job . . .

I saw this comment on another thread, and wondered what others thought their Disney Dream Job would be.

When thoughts drift to mixing work and play, I always have said that all I wanted to do was to mow lawn at Walt Disney World. There is plenty of it. As we drive through the area, I see lots of nice size tractors just mowing along, enjoying the sun, and making it look good. My dream would be to drive tractor half days (mornings!) just thinking about my DW, children, and what I would do in the afternoon.

By the way, I don't want to do any maintenance on the darn thing (I have paid my dues in tractor maintenance!), I just want to drive it, feel the power, and feel the sun in the cool of the morning.

Stand back, I'm going to start this thing up . . . . .

Are you talking about Disney in general or just DVC resorts?

I have always said that my dream job would be to be one of the Cast Members standing on Main Street USA waving the Mickey Hands as you enter the park....but......

Since dealing with the planning of my Disney Wedding, I have found 2 other jobs that I would love! Wedding Planner OR Guest Services for Dining....I have had major help from both of these areas with my planning, and I would LOVE to have the opportunity to make someone's day like they have made mine (over and over I may add)...

When I retire, I'd love to be the boat driver between epcot and Hollywood studios, with stops at BCV & BWV

One of the fishing guides but if that's not available I'll captain any of the boats, preferably one of the water taxis from OKW and SSR for DTD.

Would love to be an imagineer.

Besides playing hockey for the New York Rangers (which sadly will never happen :rotfl:), it is the one job that I would wake up every morning happy to go to work!

But alas, sadly this will never happen either. Guess I'll just have to keep getting up and dragging myself into my current job, and keep planning my next disney vacation to get me through. :rotfl:

My dream job seen on vacation would be similiar to the OP. At a beach near Clearwater, one morning I saw a tractor discing/re-grading the sand. (Seems they do that weekly to keep the sand "fluffier". Driving a tractor on the beach overlooking the Gulf... but back in topic, I'll take that job at VB.

A while back, there was a thread about jobs at WDW and someone wrote he is a ticket taker at the stadium in the Sports Complex. He gets to watch all of the spring training games played there. I went home and told my wife "That's it, I've found my dream job at Disney".

drive the monrail or the boats.

also said buses - but now not so sure about that one. of course would only want to work at night or early morning.

One of the servers at HDDR. They always look like they're having a blast.:goodvibes

Maybe a server at the Garden View Cafe for tea!

My DH would love a job in the golf area - maybe a marshal or starter. I've always said I wanted to be the cart lady - she drives a cart around the golf course and sells refreshments. Sounds good to me  And as we all know, Disney has some of the best golf courses around, so might as well do that job at WDW :rotfl2:

My DH and I have already "decided" to retire to Orlando so he can be a boat captain (DTD) and I will work in the Magic Kingdom at Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe over in Liberty Square. Good thing we have lots of time to plan this out! :goodvibes

DH and I will fight you for it! That's exactly what his dream job is. I'd settle for working in the gift shop/general store at OKW while he's at the golf course.

I'd like to plan other people's vacations from where to stay, which parks to go to on each day, where to eat, and special surprises like customized matching t-shirts, gifts, etc. All based on a questionaire to get to know their likes/dislikes and touring style.

I'd like to be the guy who walks around all the parks and hands out Dream Passes. Or another good job would be to taste test and pour beer at Germany in Epcot.

I'd like to be one of the drivers of the vans who go around and bring people to their DVC appointments while at the Magic Kingdom when I retire.

Hey, I could get into that one too! What better job? You get to talk both Disney AND DVC!!!!

My dream Disney job would be doing exactly what I do now FOR DISNEY. I'm a human resources specialist. I think Disney has got to be the top employer in the world with their incredible talent sourcing, training and development, performance management etc. Since my two passions are HR and Disney, it would be a match made in heaven.

One day I may join them, as I do have a green card from earlier in life. :) Wouldn't my DD LOVE that??? "Guess what Abby, mummy is going to go work for Disney World!" She'd just flip.

Edit: I forgot to add that I'm currently pushing my DD to work for Disney doing anything she loves. She currently wants to be a puppeteer. (she's 6) :)

My husband is going to be a monorail driver, or the boat guy. I'm goingto work in the first aid stations. He doesn't know about this yet, but it's going to happen someday ;)
