Hey there everyone....thought I'd start a fun post. I know it's been done before, but why not do it again.

What sounds define Disney World to you? I have several...

1) The sound of the distant howls coming from the Haunted Mansion
2) The eerie 40's music in the queue and lobby of the Tower of Terror
3) The monorail guy saying "Please stand clear of the doors" in both English and Spanish
4) Hearing "Dead men tell no tales" in the Pirates of the Caribbean
5) Hearing that little ghost doll at the end of the Haunted Mansion saying, "Hurry back...hurry back....and don't forget your death certificate."
6) The ambient music you hear while you are in line for Space Mountain.
7) The Mickey wake up call "Up and at 'em pal..."

So, what sounds do you "dig" from the World? :cool1:

In addition to all of yours... :)

I LOVE the music you hear as you enter Epcot. :cloud9:

I love hearing the Epcot music! I have "Entrance Melody" on right now.

Guess mine is based on childhood memories of the It's a Small World song. I also loved the old version of Carousel of Progress.

The wonderful music coming out on the grounds at the Polynesian.... pure heaven.
:flower1:

Not sure how to describe it, but the sounds you hear walking past the totem poles in Adventureland at the MK.... hollow drumming of sorts???

The music for Fantasmic..... so many more including all that have been mentioned already! :)

I think the sound of a cash register opening and then closing with my money in it defines Disney for me.

Bill From PA

Does this count as music "Paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow-your party from Saturn has arrived. Please give them a ring." And of course, the Illuminations music.

The music in Splash Mountain is a more recent sound that I've come to identify with and love about WDW.

The oldies but goodies are the monorail, entrance into Epcot, "dead men tell no tales" in POC, the voice in Spaceship Earth, and Mickey's wake up call.

Wow there are so many.... The classic music they play of Main Street in MK some of the songs remind me of musicals that I have participated in, the Haunted Mansion music definately, Dead Men tell no tales, One little Spark at Epcot brings back a lot of childhood memories, I like the "hurry back...hurry back" quote reminds me that every time my mother would have to reply "No, I am definately not picking up my death certificate, sorry", and my absolute favorite music is the finale of Fantasmic! :wizard:

All the Sounds of Disney are magic to me. :D

My favorites are the music on Main Street, the monorail "Please stand clear of the doors...", The noise from the train on Main Street, oh there are so many more. :Pinkbounc

I can't wait to go back! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I know exactly what you mean! That's one of my favorite... um, songs? lolol.

Also, the woman who says "Illuminations... Reflections of Earth... will begin in 15 minutes."

And from the Great Movie Ride, that clip from Singing In the Rain where the 3 girls sing "bo-sa-do-dee-oh!"

For those of you who said epcot music have you gone to this site?
http://balgavy.at/som/
It has the entrance music, music from spaceship earth etc that just brings me right back to Epcot. Also has the background music for MK.I cant take credit for finding it. Another Diser had it on there list for the disney websites.
So all the background music for me and...
"Im walking right down the middle of mainstreet usa..."song
Hearing the cars from the speedway next to teacups.
Of course COP song

I get in either the MK or Epcot and just let the sounds soak in. Then I know I am there and all is happy. Disney park music is my prozac apparently.

Oooo!! Here are all my sounds!

1. The "Please stand clear of the doors.." Thing on the monerail.
2. Its a small world
3. Old Hollywood music front of MGM
4. Creepy music by the Hollywood Tower of Terror
5. The song they play during Wishes
6. Enchanted Tiki Room song
7. "Hurry back..." in the Haunted Mansion
8. Wolf howls at the Haunted Mansion
9. The bands playing on Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom

Don't knowif they still do this with Wishes, but before Tink's flight and the Fantasyland Fireworks the orchestrial arrangement would be played of When You Wish Upon A Star.... that to me is the ULTIMATE Disney sound!

The sound that lets me know that I'm "home"? The Friend Ship horns blowing on Crescent Lake. :boat:

Some of my favorite sounds are from WL. I love hearing the music as you enter the lobby, the sount the geyser makes when it erupts, and I know this will sound dumb to most of you, but I love to hear those poor unsuspecting fools hollering for "ketttttttttttchuuuuuuuuupppppp" at the Whispering Canyon. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Definitely Please stand clear............ and of course the music at WL, I can't remember the name of the particular song, is it the theme from Magnificent Seven, it was in that famous "BEEF it's what's for dinner" commercial from a few years back? And of course Dead men tell no tales and the gghosts at the Haunted Mansion. DD7 claims she's going to ride TOT this time, we may have to hit it first in two weeks before we heard over to MK. Maybe we'll have a new favorite song/sound after that trip.
