DH, his friend, and I went to St. Martin/St. Maarten this past April. I loved it - super friendly island, near impossible to get lost. We rented a condo, but there are tons of all-inclusives. Orient Beach is the nude one, but the north end is clothed. :teeth: Most beaches are ok for topless.

I would love to back.

Just back from San Juan, P.R. The people are very friendly, unfortunately didn't get go to the famous rain forest. Went to El Morro, the fort which was built during the Spanish rule to protect the island from invadors. The weather was very nice - temperature was 88, but didn't feel as hot as 88 generally is in the Northeast because it wasn't as humid. Also saw some interesting birds and reptiles.

I've also been to the Bahamas as a stop on a cruise. Enjoyed observing aquatic life at a marine preserve.

Sorry I can't tell you more about the beaches and water. Good luck with your planning and hope you have a great trip!

BRITISH Virgin Islands--Tortola, Virgin Gorda. We honeymooned on Virgin Gorda 12 years (OMGoshness) ago, and LOVE it.
I'm with you. We spent a week on Virgin Gorda about the same time as you, and it was heaven. It really is the Caribbean the way you always pictured it. No traffic jams, Wal-Marts, etc. No cruise ships dumping 3000 passengers at a crack on your little speck of island, either. Just a laid back attitude and fabulous beaches and snorkeling.

What type of atmosphere, activities, scenery, etc are you looking for?

We love St. John, not touristy, very private, friendly, lots of well-preserved natural scenery and beaches.

We rented a house and a jeep, it's really fun!

This would be my recommend as well! St. John is fabulous!
Caneel Bay Resort is posh if you have unlimited funds or
great for lunch one day if you don't :)

We stayed at Sandals Negril in Jamaica a few years ago and LOVED it. It is not a "party" resort like some of the other Sandals are. They had the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. There are two other Sandals owned resorts in the immediate area that you can go to to eat, drink, play, or whatever. Beaches Sandy Bay is just a short walk down the beach and Beaches Negril was about a 5 minute shuttle ride away. Sandals Negril is all-inclusive adult couples only.

Can't agree more! DH and I go to this resort every other year. We love it! I would normally agree that its not a party resort. Every time we've went it was usually pretty quiet at night. This past time we met a few other couples who loved to "party". We hung out with them our whole trip and had a pretty wild time. One of the highlights of our trip used to be a booze cruise to Ricks Cafe. But it got demolished in the hurricane this past Sept. Negril is still a great place to go. Some of the rooms are so close to the beach, you can lie in bed and hear the waves.
