Hi all! I'm currently planning my real first trip to DLR, and I'd like to do at least one sit-down moderately priced meal for DBF and I to be our "splurge" of the trip. As a East Coaster/WDW tripper I'm completely lost in this regard, and would love your opinions! Some guidelines if you will:

- We are two barely-on-our-feet college grads, so no $30.00 appetizers if you catch my drift!

- We haven't decided where we're staying yet, but we don't plan on renting a car, so anything that's not walking distances doesn't work too well.

Thanks for your input everyone! Feel free to throw in your favorite CS restaurant as well for daily park touring :thumbsup2

I love CS Riverbelle Terrace just because of the outdoor dining venue and tasty fresh food. It is the best place for breakfast in DL.

My family loves the French Market in NOS. If you time it right you get to eat in front of a live band which is always neat.

We love Cafe Orleans! Really good food and similar menu to Blue Bayou from what I've seen. (There are some menu differences) try finding the menus online and you can get a good idea of prices so you know what is an option and what is not.

I can't help much with the sit down meal recommendation. I would love to try Blue Bayou just for the atmosphere.

For Counter service we like to have lunch at the Plaza Inn. The meals are more *dinner* than lunch. A favorite of many is the Fried Chicken meal. Many people split it. If we fill up there for lunch we are really only in the mood for a little snack for dinner.

Here is a link to the menus of DLR including the hotel restaurants.

My family loves the Carnation Cafe. Not too expensive, has some fun food and comfort food (it has the famed PB&J soda, which blew my mind). You can get an appetizer, entree, and beverage for ~$20, which as an almost-college-grad, is around the price I'd pay for one splurge-y meal.

Carnation Cafe! My family loves it and we make sure to eat there at least once and usually twice on a trip. You can make reservations ahead of time or walk up--but we try to make reservations.

Carnation Cafe for lunch - we always have the loaded baked potato soup - :goodvibes

For CS, Flo's at DCA is pretty fabulous. The turkey dinner is awesome!

Have to agree with Carnation Cafe!!! We eat there at least twice each trip, once for breakfast, and once for lunch/dinner.

If you like a little spice to your food, Cafe Orleans. If you like more American fare, Carnation Cafe. If you like Italian (well, Americanized Italian), then Wine Country Trattoria.

Thanks everyone! Seems like Carnation Cafe will be a definite, but I love hearing all your opinions. Keep 'em coming!

We really like the Mexican place by Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. River Belle Terrace for breakfast is good too. We just tried Cafe Orleans and didn't care for it very much. We ordered the Pommes Frites and the Monte Cristo and just didn't get the hype.

Go to counter service at DCA:
Boardwalk Pizza and Pasta / Garden Grill
Flo's V-8
Any Pacific Wharf eatery

Go to counter service at DL:
Rancho del Zoalco
Pizza planet (salads okay, I like the pizza okay)

Others:
Storytellers' cafe at Grand Californian
Tortilla Joe's in Downtown Disney is pretty good

plaza inn (Chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, biscuit and a drink) (don't forget the choc cake!) Best bang for your buck meal in disneyland.

Maybe I missed something, because the request was for a DLR eatery, not DLP, so wouldn't DLR be anyplace in the area, not just inside Disneyland (Park)?

The meal I love at the DLR is the Sunday Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues and I love Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen too, especially when the music starts.

In Disneyland, Rancho del Zocalo, Cafe Orleans and The French Market are the ones we eat at the most, with the Carnation Cafe as a sometimes.

In DCA we either do Carthay Circle or the fast food in the Wharf area.

In DL, I love Rancho del Zocola. In DCA, Taste Pilots is good.

Just to save the OP from a crazy search, the restaurant at DL is called Pizza Port. (Pizza Planet is at WDW, and of course, in Toy Story. :) )
