I'm calling on all the creative minded people (or at least those with good camera eyes) - I'm looking for photo opportunities using the incredible Disney props around the World (don't forget DTD & the resorts).

I know of a few like the statues outside "Dinosaur" and the Jedi bike outside "Star Tours"; even the pics that, when positioned correctly, make it look like you're wearing the sorcerer's hat at MGM, but what are others?

Descriptions would be great; actual pictures and where they were taken even better.

Oooooo good question TI! I am jumping on board this one for future replies~ :earboy2:

I have pictures of me posing in the same position of some of the statues in the Magic Kingdom (like the Goofy bench on the right hand side as you enter the park, or the small statues surrounding the Partners statue in the hub). I also have pictures of me "skipping" with Snow White and Goofy topiaries.

Another dis'er here has a photos of himself as part of his signature and there is one great one of him with his can cupping Spaceship Earth (like photos of people proping up the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy). Looked really cute!

At DTD, there is a Pooh store (I think it was a Pooh store - hope this is it) and on the side there are some 3-D art of Pooh eating honey out of a honeypot. It's like a statue built into the wall and there is an bench there to sit on. My kids posed with them and the pictures came out great. I just got a Christmas card this year with someone's child at the same place!

There are also awesome Lego statues at DTD to pose with.

Thanks for this thread - I will be checking back for ideas!

don't forget the cutouts in the back of exposition hall in the MK, and of course Andy's room at ASmo

I got a great shot of my kids at magic kingdom as you enter the park on main street there is a walt and mickey bench (it's in the center, grassy area). I didn't even notice til I got our photos back that I also got the castle in the background!

This is a fun thread.

Don't know if they are still there but there were some great props in the backlot at MGM. There is a chariot, a control board for a spaceship, a huge pumpkin.

We have some great pictures taken in Epcot on the viking ship in Norway.

A "living" prop in AK would be Devine. I had my DD7 at the time pose next to her (she wasn't allowed to get too close). It really helped to give perspective to what Devine looks like.

Another "living" prop at AK would be the talking tree.

What about the umbrella fountain in MGM-I think this is on New York Street?

idahomom - that's actually roy (walt's brother) on the park bench.

i just thought of another . . . the honey i shrunk the kids playground in mgm

OMG I have a bunch of pics from our trip in June, many of them were suggested above. I will try to add a few on here if I can figure out how.

Does anyone know? Can I just cut and paste?

DH and I have been known to "hitchhike" by the Route 66 sign/luggage setup outside Villians in Vogue at MGM. (Getting our kicks on Route 66...) :smooth: Also in that park, don't forget the rope pull to the left of the Indy stunt show entrance.
Happy shooting,

In MGM, as you come out of the movie tour ride there is a steamroller from Roger Rabbit. I have a picture of DD, laying under the roller, about to get smooshed.

My Dh's name is Don, so when he looks angry, which isn't very often, I call him Mean Donald.
In the pin store at DTD there is a cute angry Donald statue. I had DH make a fake mean look while he kneeled down with that angry face Donald statue. It's one of my favorite pics. :lovestruc

One day in MK my boyfriend and I went into the kodak store on Main street. When you keep walking past the registers there is a room filled with cutouts for you to put your face in. There was snow white and the seven dwarfs, with me being doppy, there was a steamboat willie one, as well as a toy story, and dalmations. I am pretty sure there were more. I have NO idea what this room is used for, we just happened apon it when we were looking at the pictures on the wall. If it is a private room I am pretty sure it would have been closed off. It was awesome, and totally empty. I think there were cartoons playing on a huge screen as well.

Not only is that Roy on the bench - It's Minnie with him, not Mickey :earboy2:

We did this with the girls... their favorite was posing like Chip and Dale!

When we went two years ago, we left the MK during the afternoon, taking the ferry back to the TTC. I have a great picture of my DD, neice and nephew standing on the end of the ferry with the MK in the back ground behind them. Then I got one of them from the upper level, looking down to them. Their backs were toward me - it was the perfect "One last look" picture.

One of my standard vacation pictures is I float on my back in the resort pool, (or ocean, depending on where I am), and take a picture with my feet in the foreground, water all around, and try to make the background a nice view of the hotel - so when I look back at the pic I can remember what it was like to swim in the water. Make sure you don't get your camera wet, though!
