Sorry if there is already a post about this, but I saw the bad CM reports and now I want to hear your best CM experience.

Mine is we were eating at the Crystal Palace and one of my girls dropped her die cast Buzz Lightyear (a little Buzz that is in the pod like on the ride) and the guns fell off. We picked it up and poor Allison was a little upset. The greeter/attendent CM asked me where we got the toy at (my other daughter had the other one) and about 10 minutes later he appeared with a new one for Allison. We were all so impressed he went out of his way to get this for us :earsboy:

During our last trip in May 2005, my DH was riding RnR Coaster at MGM while I waited with our DS who was not tall enough to ride. Well, a CM who had a small basketball passed it back and forth with our son the whole time we waited, which was about 20-30 minutes. Our son had such a blast doing that, and I thought it was great that the CM did that.

Looking forward to more great CM moments in 12 days!! :cool1: :cool1:

When I was delivering gift baskets to the resorts on a regular basis, it was very time consuming. I would stand in line behind people checking in and wait. After doing this many times at Pop Century, one of the front desk CMs called me over. She told me that her manager had instructed her to give me the code to the back room of the lobby area. That way, I could drop off my baskets and not have to wait in line. She told me that they were impressed that I had always waited patiently for my turn. She said that most delivery people just barge in front of the guests. I thought it was very nice of them to do this for me since I was not an employee and sort of competing with the Disney Florist.

DH and I spent our Honeymoon at Disney and had great experiences with so many CMs....but one at AK who took pictures made us feel so special...that's when I first felt the magic of Disney! :wizard:

I like this thread! :goodvibes Let's see:
1. I was watching the SADCT parade when all of a sudden, just as the parade arrived on Main Street, it started to POUR!! I decided to stay, even though many people ran for the exit (in front of the floats). Well, when the Mary Poppins/Aladdin float arrived, one of the chimney sweeps recognized me. There, in the pouring rain, he gave me a HUGE hug and said "you are the best fan ever!". Sigh!

2. I love doing the Frontierland Hoedown. I have done it so many times I now have my own dancing partner! That is my MK tradition! :goodvibes

3. Just all the characters. I LOVE the characters.

I've had so many great experiences with CM's that it is hard to pick just one! Just tonight I had a great conversation with a CM who booked a Segway tour for me and my husband and then without even asking told me the exact date I could call back to start making my ADR's. I thought that was very thoughtful of him. We also had excellent CM interactions at the front desk and at Kona's when we stayed at the Poly. Oh, and then there was the time a CM at the candy store in MK walked me over to the firehouse to show me where the bathrooms were instead of just trying to explain it to me!

Sometimes I think people forget that the CM's at Disney are people too and have to deal with a LOT of people everyday and are under a great deal of pressure to consistently be dishing out Disney magic. I am always incredibly impressed that they show up at their jobs day in and day out, just like the rest of us, and the large majority of them do so with more than just a smile, but with incredible kindness, warmth and pixie dust! I am grateful to all the CM's we have encountered who have made our trips truly special.

Our last "best" experience with a CM this past trip in December was in frontierland, where DD7 and I were waiting for DH and DD15. The CM doing the afternoon parade heard me tell my daughter that we had to just wait there for the rest of the family, and asked what had happened. I explained that DH and DD15 had gone off to ride Big Thunder Mtn without us! and that we had to just wait for them. She asked me if we wanted to ride Splash Mtn without them and of course, we said yes! So she handed me a babyswap pass for Splash and off we went! (Of course, we were just about to get in line when the other 2 showed up, and DD15 rode with us too. I was a nice mother that day! :rotfl: ) But that made our day, as we didn't have time to get a fast pass and standby was about an hour! That was a great Christmas gift.

While we were staying at AKL about 3 years ago, our son (11 at the time) was really into pin trading. He had several of the state pins that were from TDS on his lanyard. Well a CM at the food court struck up a conversation with DS asking him where he was from. She told him that she liked his New Hampshire pin, as she was from there and she had never seen that pin. Well on his own, he took the pin off of his lanyard and handed it to her. She was awestruck and said that she could not accept it. He left it on next to her at the cash register and said "Have a great day". Very proud Mommy moment here!!

The next morning when we walked into Mara, we heard someone yelling our son's name. It was the women from the morning before, she ran up to DS and handed him 2 CM pins, still in thier plastic wrappers, and told him to "Have a great day." She then told DH and I how much that meant to her that he gave her that pin, and that no one else had done anything like that for her. To this day, he still cherishes those pins and they are in a special place still in their original wrappers!! :flower:

Let's see...
There was the CM who drove us to our room with all our luggage because we didn't know where it was...
The CM who took the time to deliver a tree from another DISer at another resort right to our door...
The CM (Hi, Joel!) who saw us walking around in awe of the Osborne Lights, singing along with the music, who joined right in and sang with us, then took our picture with our camera...
The CM (security) at SSR who stopped by while we were waiting for the ME bus in the sitting area, and told us bad joke after bad joke...
The CM who saw my DM71 and I walking to the SSR boat dock while driving by in a golf cart, and stopped and offered us a ride...
The CM (mousekeeping) who never failed to decorate our Christmas tree with potatohead pieces, Luau leis, Mickey socks, and finally left us a towel (?)whale...

Oh, there were more, at every turn, these are just the ones who stand out in my mind.

The housekeepers at Yacht Club who made me laugh with the little towel creatures and then who presented me with a towel doll when I told them how pleased I had been. Thank you, Ladies, you were so very nice!

We had a blast with a couple of CM's taking pictures near the castle at MK! They offered to take pictures with our cameras, then admired mine and compared it with theirs, and in general just laughed and joked and had fun with us and our cameras! They took some silly pictures of us as well as the more standard poses - and we just loved it!

Our wonderful experience involved a super WDW bus driver. We had PS's at Boma's. We boarded the Downtown Disney bus at the All Star Sports and had left over an hour to get to Animal Kingdom Lodge. To make sure that we could grab an Animal Kingdom Lodge bus at DDD my mom asked (she didn't trust me!!). The driver said that we could. When we pulled away from All Star Sports my parents and my husband and I were the only people on the bus. I realized that the driver was taking us directly to Animal Kingdom Lodge. It was so nice! We thanked him profusely - it gave us plenty of time to look around the Lodge.
Over the years of visiting WDW we have experienced so many CM's making our day or someone elses day special - I love the pixie dust moments!

My thoughts exactly! If you have come into contact with a CM that has made magic for you, please look at their name badge and get as much info as possible. Then contact WDW (through www.disneyworld.com) and let them know about your experience. The CM will get recognnized for their outstanding service and will receive a special pin. Trust me, it will make their day. I had a CM that told me out of his 14 years of working at WDW, it was the best thing that happened to him ::MickeyMo

There were a whole numch of CMs that went out of their way to make our time special.
There was "Danger Bob" who gave extra attention to one of my friends at the jungle cruise
The captain of the ship from POR to DTD who made a special stop for us so that we wouldn't have to walk from the DTD are to the PI area (we didn't ask him to or anything)
The girl (whose name I forget right now) at AKL who after letting us know about the night vision thing at AKL spent an hour talking to us
Our waiters at Alfredo's (whose wife is from my area)
Luis at Ohana

These are just some of them. :)

Gshoemate- you are absolutely right. If a CM has made your day, please let some disney higher up know. It will get back to them that you thought they were special :)

I love all the CM's at YC especially in planning, but this past July there was a very special CM working at Sci-Fi. My four year old had had a very long day and was not really in the mood to wait the 20 minutes we had to wait for our dinner ADR. He took out one of those red laser light pens and started playing with the light shining on my sons's leg or hand or whatever and jumping all around the room. The man next to us starting "catching" the red light with his hat against the wall and this went on for the rest of the time we waited all the while my son laughing and having the best time. The CM kept teasing him about letting the light get away from him. In the middle of our dinner suddenly this red light appeared on our table and we turned around in our car and the same CM was standing there. He told my son he had found a way for him to capture the light and take it home with him but he had to hold his hand out and grab it. The CM had brought him one the red light up ice cubes and my son truly believed when the CM shined the light on the cube and the ice cube lit up that he had captured the light to take home. That CM really went out of his way even to find us in the restaurant. I'll never forget how he turned what would have probably been an awful evening into a wonderful Disney memory.

Great idea! I have had awesome CM's during every one of my stays. Just the kindness and the easy smile that comes to thier faces. Nice, Nice people work all over WDW, and I have met so many of them. Bus drivers, bar tenders, guest services, valet, wait staff and mousekeeping. Especially the bartender at 50's PTC who kept his sense of humor when people were 5 people thick wanting drinks! Loved him! Anyhoo, I have yet to have a nasty experience with a CM, and I don't think I ever will. WDW is known for its service, and it is one of the reasons we can't wait to go back. Next time though, I'm going to write nice letters! :cheer2:

My best experience was in the lobby of Coronado Springs late one evening. DH & 4yo DD were tossing pennies in the fountain while I finished up in the gift shop. They were the only 2 in the whole area. A CM came out of nowhere to give DD a balloon. Such a small thing, but really made her day.

And that's the point, I think. Disney magic doesn't have to be big & grand. Those small gestures made all the difference in the "world". :earsboy:

In a boat from Fort Wilderness to the Contemporary one evening, the CM driving the boat suddenly slowed WAY down. The fireworks at the MK soon started and we had a great view from the bay.

It's certainly not the only great experience, but the latest was when I wanted to have a "Disney Villians" poster signed by as many of the villians as possible, then I was going to have it framed when I got home. I soon realized that the poster would be in poor condition after a day in the park. So, I went to MGM guest relations and there, a couple of CM's went above and beyond the call to have this done for me while I enjoyed the park. I was able to pick it up the next day. It looks great on the wall ! Oh, and I did write Disney a letter commending the efforts of all involved.

After attending CRT last week, my DD7 was in her Aurora costume and crown. We went into the Christmas shop there in Liberty Square, the CM saw her and he rang a bell and stated in a very formal voice, "Ladies and Gentleman we have a princess in our presence, he bowed to her and gave her stickers", then out on main street some of the ladies in period costumes stopped, addressed her and bowed! It still gives me goose bumps and makes me a little teary eyed while I type this, the look on her face was worth every penny I spent to go to WDW!

Now if I could just get my princess to come down to earth all would be great :rotfl:
