Your 10 Worst Things and 10 Best Things About WDW

Worst:

10. Price increase...its just ridiculous.
9. Noodle Station in Tomorrowland...what and when will something be done? Its an eyesore!
8. Speedway...by far the longest line in Tomorrowland....and for what? Im ready to see this switched up with a Cars theme.
9. SnowWhite and PeterPan...happy to see SnowWhite go....(dont flame me!!!) but these look like cheap carnival rides.
8. BBB hair extensions... While I know I may be faced doing this with my daughter one day...honestly..can the hair look any worse???
7. The fact I can see all I want to see in World Showcase in about an hour. They should add more rides.
6. Figment (the new version)...Disney...you have ruined my childhood memories by taking away the original. This version just makes me cry.
5. Waiting in line for a character only for them to announce they are leaving in 5 minutes...realizing your child will NOT be seeing that character after all. How hard would it be to close a line off at a certain point? This happened to us twice with Winnie the Pooh!
4. DHS - Bulldoze it. Seriously. Just put One Man's Dream and Fantasmic into another park.
3. Wonders of Life..its like a tease...forever closed...but so alluring...
2. Beverly!

Worst Things:

1. Leaving - Duh. Like everyone else. :)
2. Cost - I agree that it is getting more and more expensive, and it seems like you get less and less.
3. Dining Plan Changes - We love the dining plan, especially when it is free, but I miss tipping being included, and I really wish that I could choose an appetizer over dessert. Being a diabetic, I don't always want to eat dessert.
4. That we can't go every year - Again, back to rising costs!
5. Animal Kingdom - it is hot and other than a few rides (the safari, Everest, and River Rapids) and Festival of the Lion King, it is our least favorite park.
6. Counter Service Food - With a few exceptions, it is all the same and all 'Blah'
7. That you can't get chocolate covered bananas in all parks - Yeah, just YUM!
8. That they don't have more clothes for kids - They seem to have the same four dresses and t-shirts everywhere on property.

10. Dinosaur - Hate, hate, hate it. Way too jerky and way too loud.

Best Things:

1. Driving through the entrance arch - Just makes me happy thinking about it.
2. The Haunted Mansion - Greatest ride in the park.
3. Soarin - One of the greatest rides in the parks. I just really wish they would ditch California and have us sail over scenery from the Countries in the World Showcase.
4. The Magic of Our Steam Trains Tour - My husband, the railroad nut asked me to add that one! He does it every trip!
5. The look on my Husband's face when we make him ride Small World - He loves to feign horror at the thought. It cracks my daughter up.
6. Crystal Palace - The food isn't the best in the park, but Tigger is there and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tigger.:tigger::tigger::tigger::tigger:
7. That Port Canaveral and the Disney Cruise Line is close by - We love our cruises!
8. Wilderness Lodge - Our favorite resort on property. We love everything about it.
9. EPCOT - This is my favorite park. I love everything about it.

3. People who think they can walk onto the bus ahead of people who have been waiting for it.
4. People who don't know how to efficiently use the Fast Pass kiosk
5. Dole Whip

9. The price or tickets
10.The lack of a new country in the World Showcase

10 Best Things about WDW

4. The friendship boats
5. Tower of Terror
6. Lights, Motors, Action
7. Trading Pins
8. Illuminations
9. Club Cool
10.Signature Restaurants.

10 Worst
1. Stitch's Great Escape
2. People who come late to a parade and try to squeeze into our space

4. People taking pictures of a character (and ultimately my kids) during my children's meet and greet time
5. People who do not move up in a line because they want to stay in the shade when it is hot
6. The fact my dd says she is too old for It's a Small World- on her first trip I think we rode it no less than 100 times

9. Stitch's Great Escape
10. Stitch's Great Escape

4. Walking down main street at MK for the first time each trip
5. That I have a family that likes to go as much as I do
6. Everest
7. Still getting excited to see characters even though I am old!
8. The Wilderness Lodge at Christmas
9. Telling our kids we are going back for another trip...we have one coming in October and they do not know yet!!
10. Watching fireworks from the Poly beach

Worst:

1- It's A Small World: Don't like it, at all. Boring. I'd rather sit in the sun and fry than ride it. Sorry fans, don't like it. :confused3
2- Tomorrowland Speed Way: Eh? What's the line all about? I remember BEGGING to ride this and after I did... never went back... Nooo..
3-River Country Closed.
4- EPCOT lack of "shade" in World Show Case. I don't know but in June, it seemed to me like were were on an endless path of nothing but concrete. It was then that I dawned on me just how BIG EPCOT is.
5- Lago in the Tiki Room. God bless the god of fire. ;)
6- Peter Pan's queue: :furious: Seriously, it's a 3 minute attraction!!
7- Prices: Okay, totally, I GET the economy, yadda yadda but, gimme a break!
8- Food selection at QS restaurants: While not terrible, a few healthier items would do well.
9- Busses that don't go from one resort to another. It's fun checking them out, even if you've been there before! :)
10-Pleasure Island going bye bye. - *sigh* Never got to go clubbing there. As much as I agree on their family approach, Disney should have an adult area. Not everyone that travels goes with kiddies.

BEST!!
1- BTMRR: Scared me as a kid, love it as an adult... It's my must do at MK.
2- Soarin': Wow!!! Worth the wait!!
3- Grand Marnier Orange Slush: Have two. ;)
4- Fort Wilderness Lodge: I love it, soooo gorgeous!!
5- No garbage on the floor... Love that the parks are clean 99.9% of the time!
6- Slide at Fort Wilderness Campground pool. VERY COOL!!
7- Boat Rides/Ferry Rides... I am not a big boat fan but, in WDW, it's like... ahhhh! :lovestruc
8- Water Mice/SeaRaycer around 7 Seas Lagoon... They are fun and you get to wave to other visitors. ;)
9- Fireworks galore!! I love them, so pretty and amazing and loud and fun! :cheer2:
10: The arch when you drive in. It's how you know you're "home." :)

Worst (in random order):
1. Cost (although it always feels well spent when I'm there!)
2. The merchandising
3. Rude people and scary parents
4. Parents who don't get that even though we're adults without kids, there is enough magic for us and your precious little ones.
5. No adult size princess costumes (sigh)
6. The increase in my calorie intake while I'm there
7. Losing an entire day to travel when one is coming from out west
8. Dinoland... I don't get it. Surely something better could have done.
9. The characters don't just "roam" like they used to. Its become a little contrived. Still love the characters though!
10. Leaving... the ME back to the airport is a killer! Then, actually coming home and having to live in the real world again.

BEST(in random order):
1. Walking down Main Street holding my DH's hand and feeling the Magic!
2. F!, FOTLK and Illuminations
3. The GF...ahhhh the smell of the lobbies.
4. The CMs who make it so special!
5. The unpredictablity of each day
6. Seeing Eeyore!!!:eeyore:
7. The Deluxe Dining Plan... I love not having to nickle and dime myself... but unfortunatly this is also responsible for #7 above. ;)
8. Animal Kingdom... I just love the themeing!
9. The "Hidden Magic" that is all around you
10. The emotional resonance... I've really enjoyed other vacations... cruises, trips to Germany, etc. But nothing really reaches into your heart and touches you the way Disney does. I love the way Disney speaks to so many different kinds of people from all over the world. Kinda makes it see like its a small world after all!

It was much easier coming up with the ten best then it was the ten worst, and four of my worst aren't even Disney's fault.

Worst

1 - Rude Guests at Parades and Shows
2 - Line Cutters
3 - Stitch
4 - Journey Into Narnia
5 - Dinoland, but just the carnival area
6 - People who don't clean up after themselves.
7 - Pleasure Island closing
8 - River Country closing and abondonment
9 - The service at Cape May Cafe and 1900 Park Fare breakfast.
10 - Going home.

Best

1 - Live shows, most notably Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo, and Beauty and the Beast.
2 - Toy Story Midway Mania
3 - Tower of Terror
4 - Expedition Everest
5 - Signature Dining
6 - Cinderella Castle
7 - Wishes & Spectro Magic
8 - Fantasmic
9 - Epcot Food & Wine Festival
10 - Disney Magic

10 Best:
1. Fireworks.
2. The kiss goodnight.
3. The shops being open after park closing - it gives me lots of time to wander around enjoying the ambience with smaller crowds.
4. The evening parade.
5. The incredible theming at Animal Kingdom.
6. Soarin.
7. Tower of Terror.
8. Mickey's Phillharmagic!
9. Peter Pan.
10.The ease of a WDW vacation - just get yourself to the airport and Disney takes care of the rest.

The 10 worst:
1. Crowds and having to get up early to beat them.
2. Waiting for buses.
3. The lack of new additions to the parks - I'm talking headliners here.
4. The Food.
5. The cost - prices seem to be rising a lot more than inflation, and parks keep getting more crowded.
6. Occasionally seeing poorly behaved people.

Worst :sad2:

1. For me jet lag, I have to get to Florida a couple days early and stay off site to adjust my schedule. Coming from Alaska and the fact that I work Midnight-8am shifts up here make dealing with humans hard for my first couple of days.

2. Merchandise, I had read about this but it really hit home for me this summer when I was in Disney Land and it was had a hard to find anything. The bags that I always keep, are Disney parks with a picture of Cinderella castle on it.

3. Leaving and the long, long plain ride home.

4. Heat, I am just not used to it any more, 60 is warm here :lmao:

5. People, come on its a vacation try to make the best of it.

6. My feet at the end of the day

7. Realizing I am a grown up when I booked and paid for my first Disney vacation by myself

8. This is really my own fault but I always spend more then I mean too

9. Being too excited to sleep and then tired in the parks

10. Public bathrooms in general, Disney's are just fine but I really just hate all public restrooms I like to be alone for that thanks

Best :woohoo:

1. Smells, all of them. Main street, peoples sun tan lotion, the water rides and the smells for scenes in rides. These are hard wired into my brain and when I smell them in everyday life it brings me right back to the moment.

2. Pirates first ride ever as a child and has been a favorite from that moment.

3. Epcot- my favorite park even as a little kid and going for food and wine even better :thumbsup2

4. Dining plan, I know it has issues but I really like having it paid for and not having to think about it

5. People, there are way more great people then grumpy ones, I always meet great people and see families having a great time. I am a people watcher and Disney is great for that

6. Creating magic, I love to do little things for the people I am traveling with, like secretly adding the wine option to my mother and step dads dining plan  or going out of my way to spread a little magic in the parks

7. Taking pictures

8. Posting on Facebook to taunt friends back in AK

9. Being in the lower 48! I miss big groups of people, cultural diversity and fresh fruit and veggies!

10. The memories, I am not a crier or overly sentimental but Disney gets me every time because of the memories that are tied in with everything.

10 Worst Things:

1. Inability to use more than 1 discount when booking. I understand that Disney is a business and they need to make money, but it doesn't mean I can't wish there were differences. I get a lot of pin codes in the mail for dining, plus I get annual passes and am military. The only way I can go to WDW once a year is by using my military discount to book rooms. That gives me a great deal, but I hate letting deals on dining go to waste.

2. The layout of DHS. The two attractions I love most at the park are RNRC and Star Tours, which are on opposite sides of the park. I feel like RNRC is tucked away in the corner of the park, and I don't like having to avoid the ToT stream to get to it. As an aside, though, I do LOVE that TSM is in the back of the park, because I love going around the front of Mickey's hat to avoid the mob.

3. Epcot's hours. Every time I've been, the normal hours are 9 to 9. Epcot is such a huge park, that I really wish they gave us a longer time to explore. And 9a.m. for me at WDW is late...

4. The transportation to MK. I'm a bit of a control freak, so I really dislike only being able to get to the park through two ways. And leaving at night with all those crowds is miserable; I can't even imagine how insane it is now that the monorails are being shut down during EMH. Hundreds of people trying to catch a ferry...YIKES

5. The difference in prices between the Quick Service Dining Plan and the Regular Dining Plan. I understand that eating at TS restaurant can easily mean a 100 dollar bill, so I get that Disney makes the prices so extreme for a reason. But it leaves me with a hard decision...Pay for what I know is comfortable for me or stretch my vacation funds and eat at the places I want.

6. The TSM lines. I just don't understand WHY. The ride is fun, don't get me wrong, but it shouldn't start the wait time out at 60 minutes. I think this is just a product of people more so than the attraction itself. Everybody knows it's going to be crowded, so they rush to it first thing, which in turn makes everyone else hurry to ride it. One time, I saw a toddler lose his blanket, because the father wouldn't stop running to pick it up. The poor kid was crying his eyes out, but the adult was just way too focused on FPs to notice.

7. ToT. Nothing personal, I just don't like the ride.

8. People who give CMs a hard time. I applaud WDW employees for their effort to make guests as happy as can be inside the parks, and I hate when guests take advantage of that. These people work hard to make a living and they have to worry about everyone else around them. Don't ruin their day just because there was glitch in your vacation plans.

9. The heat. Obviously, this is out of anyone's control, but I can still dislike how hot the summer months are.

10. The cost of souvenirs. I know I'm paying for the brand, but I still like to get some kind of momento while I'm on vacation. However, I always feel guilty buying something, because I know I'm paying too much.

10 Best Things:

1. Everything is taken care of. By the time I have arrived at WDW, I have my room, my meals, and my transportation squared away. All I have to do when I get there is relax and have a good time.

2. The theming. I love being able to have so many different atmospheres around me, but all of them have the Disney touch. One of my favorite things to do is visit the resorts and see how detailed every single thing is.

3. Ice cream. Can we talk about that? Dole whips, premium Mickey Ice Cream bars, Beaches and Cream sundaes...some of the best ice cream comes from WDW.

4. The feeling I get on the rides. Whether it's the dark water in PoTC or the smell of the caves in BTMRR or the music on RNRC, it is all so enveloping and memorable. I can close my eyes and practically smell the rides. It makes them stick in my mind and is what helps me want to go on them again.

5. The first glance at Cinderella's Castle. It's a physical representation of happiness, and whenever I see it, I think back to some of my best memories. Plus, nothing beats riding the monorail and seeing a little kid's face catch a glimpse of the castle for the first time.

6. The military discounts. Without the discounts on rooms, the special tickets, and the option of SoG, I would not be able to go to WDW as often as I do.

7. runDisney events. It strings together two things I love, running and WDW.

8. The shows. There's nothing like them. FOTLK is, by far, one of my favorite things to experience at WDW.

9. Park Hoppers. I enjoy being able to go to one park in the morning, leave, and enter anothe park at night. I think it keeps my options open and accomodates for flexibility. If I see that one park is really crowded, I have the option of going to a quieter park and not get so run down by all the people. :thumbsup2

10. The holidays at WDW. There's nothing like seeing the Osbourne lights turn on or taking in the giant Gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. For some reason, it makes the park extra magical. :wizard:

Worst

1. Irrational pricing for the Contemporary Resort. Even in a world of overpriced hotels, this one borders on criminal.

2. Stitch's Great Escape. It's been covered sufficiently.

3. The amount of planning that goes into a good WDW vacation, especially with a little one.

4. Hollywood and Vine restaurant. We've had dinner there by default on 3 separate trips and each time is as bad as the last. I did everything in my power to avoid it for our upcoming trip (see above).

5. Sounds Dangerous. Not really.

6. Having to pay extra to park-hop when staying onsite.

7. The mass exodus to the buses at night after a park closes.

8. The breakfast buffet choices at Akershus. And in general the cost of character dining.

9. Waiting in line for Magical Express at the airport.

10. Bus service at CBR.

Best:

1. Dinner at Teppan Edo on our first night.

2. Fantasmic/Wishes/Illuminations.

3. Any of the animal exhibits at Animal Kingdom.

4. Rock N Roller Coaster, especially the single rider line since I'm the only one that'll ride it.

5. POTC

6. Haunted Mansion

7. Oktoberfest Beer in the German pavilion. And the girls that serve it.

8. Meeting cast members from everywhere in World Showcase.

9. The look of terror in my wife's eyes right before she ran out of Rock N Roller coaster refusing to ride it.

10. The Sorcerer Mickey topiaries at DHS.

Ten worst:

1. Bus service...Nothing worse than being exhausted at 9 PM and being in a hot over crowded bus...stopping at every stop...and having your stop at YOUR hotel being the last one

2. The Death of the Resort Pins: I know they sell Deluxe Resort Pins, but what about the others??? Pin collectors don't just stay at the Grand Floridian.

3. DVC Banter: Everywhere you look, we are brainwashed into paying $35k and $100/mo to stay at a room once every other year...no thanks Ill pay when I go

4. Strollers and EVCs: Some people are ok with operating these things...some just plow into your achilles tendons repeatedly...

5. The Smell of Casey's in MK: Ugh I hate sauerkraut...sorry.

6. Rushing out of MK after fireworks: Im so tired, the last thing I want to do is sprint up ramps to cram into a monorail...

7. Disney QS Food: I can only eat chicken nuggets and their frozen pizza so many times during a week...

8. Disney Studios: I won't ride TOT or Aerosmith...so there's not much there for me. I go there once a trip for 4 hours.

9. Whispering Canyon Cafe for Dinner: I want to relax and enjoy my dinner. Love this place for breakfast to get you psyched for the day...but not to eat pot roast...

10. Disney Died before Visiting Disneyworld: Makes me so sad everytime I think he never got to see this wonderful place...

10 Best (Only 10??)

1. Entering MK for the first time and hearing the music....

2. Space Mountain: Just the smell of this ride and the eerie music brings back childhood memories....ahh...

3. Searacers: Love these things! I always lose track of time and I'm on the water for like an hour when I thought it was just 1/2 hour...

4. Monorail: Nothing better than sitting on a sticky smelly seat...but I love it! Love the spanish phrase as well

5. Seeing all the new pins that came out if I haven't been there in a year or 2

6. Seeing Palm trees from the airplane. Im from Indiana...all we have are pine trees and maples.

7. Contemporary Resort: Love the monorail overhead and the shops. What an amazing place...

8. Expedition Everest: What a smooth ride! Only got the guts to finally ride it my last trip...ugh wish I wasn't a coward and did it sooner!!! One of my favs!

9. Kali River Rapids: Love getting soaked on this ride. Nice way to cool off and also clean yourself with the lovely chlorine..ha.

10. Ohanas: Love getting a drink in a pineapple here and tasting things I'd never imagine up north. Can't go next month though due to it being booked already :-(

Worst
1. Slow turn out of new rides
2. ALL restaurant menus
3. this trend of video game rides. If i wanted to play a video game I would stay at home and use one of my 4 gaming consoles.
4. Taking away the male counterparts to the Princesses
5.Quality of retail Princess dresses
6. Villain selection
7. DHS ride selection
8. Stitch's Great Escape
9. Guest who are rude and mean to the Cast Members
10. The time span for making ADR's should be much shorter.

Best
1. Victoria and Albert's
2. Character Dining
3. The Shows
4. Mickey Waffles
5. Cast members who surprise you with special treatment, completely unsolicited
6.Captain EO coming back
7. Parades
8. When Free Dining is offered. It would be nice if they offered it for like two week int he summer.
9. Gran Marnier slushies in France
10. POFQ do over
10.

Ten Best (in no order):
1. Pirates of the Caribbean
2. Haunted Mansion
3. Peter Pan's Flight
4. Tower of Terror
5. Rock n Roller Coaster
6. Expedition Everest
7. Kilomanjaro Safari
8. Space Mountain
9. Soarin
10. Spaceship Earth

Ten Worst (in no order):
1. CROWDS
2. CROWDS
3. CROWDS
4. Rude People
5. CROWDS
6. CROWDS
7. Line Cutters
8. CROWDS
9. CROWDS
10. Downtown Disney

Worst:
1. Leaving
2. Foreign tour groups. (Not Disney's fault I know)
3. Stitch's Great Escape.
4. Not being able to sit in front of the Monorail anymore.
5. Having your car parked at the end of the row furthest away from the tram.
6. Crowds and feeling like you have to rush everywhere to beat them.
7. Trying to get out of MK after Wishes.
8. The heat and humidity in July. (Again, not Disney's fault)
9. It's Tough to Be a Bug
10. Rude guests.

Best:
1. The magic you feel you are always surrounded with.
2. Expedition Everest.
3. Mickey ice cream bars and Dole Whip.
4. Riding the Monorail to MK for the 1st time on your trip. Also, the Spanish phrase on the Monorail. "Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas" :goodvibes
5. Wishes and Illuminations.
6. Tower of Terror.
7. Fish and Chips in England!
8. Club Cool.
9. Haunted Mansion.
10. Meeting some awesome CMs from around the world in WS.

Top Ten Worst
1. The cost of staying on property. Staying in the resort is so convenient and so much fun. But even the value resorts cost more than a lot of Orlando hotels. We can rarely justify the cost.
2. RFID cups to limit refills. Please note: I am not talking about reusing mugs from one vacation to another. But, when I buy a drink, I would like to refill at my convenience. I hope the new RFID cups do not catch on resort-wide.
3. Lack of care for the Carousel of Progress. I loved this attraction when I was a kid. Now, I am bothered by the huge jump from 1940's kitchen to modern-day (I think it's even supposed to be futuristic?) kitchen. The concept epitomizes Walt Disney's belief in progress and technology. It is deserving of an appropriate update.
4. Children on leashes. I am not trying to start a controversy. Parents have the right to manage their children as they see fit. But it rubs me the wrong way.
5. Sci-Fi Diner. Yucky food, uncomfortable eating situation.
6. In fact, most dining options in Hollywood Studios. Other than Brown Derby, the choices are less than appetizing.
7. People who believe that pushing an adult in a wheelchair is just like pushing a child in a stroller. You can't stop a wheelchair on a dime. Please watch where you stop.
8. Transportation time. I LOVE riding the monorail, but to get around the property really does take a lot of time. We skip it in favor of our car whenever possible.
9. Space Mountain. Is it just me, or is it way too hurky-jerky lately? We used to love this ride-- multiple fast passes in a day. But now, we avoid it.
10. Annual passes that expire. Mine expired on Tuesday. :(

Top Ten Best
1. Fireworks. I believe that every day of our lives should end with fireworks. In Disney World, I get my wish.
2. Candlelight Processional. Christmas is my favorite time of year. This show is beautiful. It brings tears to my eyes every time.
3. PUSH, the talking trash can (and other lesser-known treasures that make the trip more memorable). On our last trip, we followed PUSH on his route. He talked to my husband the whole time about Star Wars.
4. In a related matter, we love Star Wars Weekends. "Hoopla, Hyperspace Hoopla..."
5. Dole Whips. We tried them because of all the hype on Dis. You were all so right. Our new favorite.
6. Sitting in Pinocchio Village Haus waving to people entering Small World. Once they gave me a sign to hold up for the boats. I could tell people to "Make a wish" or "Do the Chicken Dance." Guess which one I picked.
7. Voices of Liberty. So beautiful. We see them every trip.
8. The Hoop-de-Doo. I've been several times since I was a kid. Just took my husband and his family for their first time. They thought it was going to be a waste of time and money and told me such. But as we walked out, everyone said that it was the best part of the trip, and they would be back.
9. Gingerbread at Christmas. We make a point of visiting all the gingerbread structures like the house at Grand Floridian and the carousel at the Beach Club. And the chocolate backed shingles-- YUM!
10. Making fast friends with the people in line. We were complete strangers when we happened to enter the line at the same time. But after an hour of waiting together, we've become friends. How often does this happen?
