My 9 year old DS with Down syndrome loves the ride!!! He is mentally about like a 3-4 year old in many ways. My husband lectured me about keeping my head back and staring straight ahead and that I would be fine. So off I go to ride it for the first time with my DS who has already ridden with Dad. What is so funny is that as we are riding he is looking everywhere!! Up down all around, pushing buttons, leaning down and sideways, just so happy and thinking he is driving a spaceship. I think I was more worried about him because my DH had told me if I didn't look straight ahead they would stop the ride. Yes, I'm gullible. Anyhow I think kids can handle it just fine --ultimately looking straight ahead is good but I think he likes that feeling and it doesn't bother him. So....I would let him go if he is tall enough.
