My niece is between 2 & 1/2 and 3 this visit and is a HUGE ham. She talks to every person she comes across in the store or at lunch. When she goes to Storytime at the library, she doesn't even raise her hand to volunteer when they put on a play anymore - just runs right up to the lady asking "who wants to be in a play?"

I've had my sister practicing with her on how to hop, shiver, neigh & ROAR! But I'm wondering, do they often pick kids so young as 3 for the Beast? I've seen mostly kids that I'd guess were between 4 and 7 on my dozen or so times thru the show.

I'm thinking if she's not Beast, she may be better off just watching the show from the peanut gallery to enjoy it most. (@ least on her first time thru). I know she can still get her bookmark/picture with Belle by being added to the line of kids at the very end.

Have any of you seen such a young one get picked for the big role?

I've seen it about 4 times. Beast has never been a child as young as 3, and never a female. It could be a problem if she only wants to be Beast. It she just wants to be in the show, they will put her in the show.

We've seen a female Beast, but she was probably 5 or 6 years old. Good luck! :goodvibes I would have her at least be a dancing plate (or any of the other "extras") so she is guaranteed a photo with Belle.

There was a girl about 6 or 7 when we were there. My DD played Maurice - it was so cute. DS was 3 and too timid to go up but now DD has been "practicing" to try and get the Beast this summer so she can dance with Belle - and in the alternative has also been practicing with DS to try and get him to go for the part - which would definitely melt this momma's heart seeing that ;)

I do remember that they picked the girl for the beast who roared the loudest and seemed to be the most outgoing right off the bat if that helps :)

I think the Beast is usually played by a child that is a little older and on all my visits male. At her age, she will probably be picked to play Chip. At least that is what my daughter was picked to play at her age. My daughter is also quite a ham. She loved getting to be Chip. On another visit, she was a salt shaker and on another trip she was a fork. She didn't like those parts as much :) If she really wants to be the Beast, she can always roar and "audition" for that part when it is announced or ask going in and hope for the best.

my son just turned 3 when we went to disney and he was picked as beast and he loved it. my 5 year old son played Philip and i was belles father lol. it was a lot of fun for all us, especially my youngest. he was on cloud nine lol

DD was almost 3 and both times picked as chip. She practices her roar all day every day lol!

When we went in January my three year old son was picked for beast he was so cute.

my then nearly 3 year old daughter was Chip and my then 5 year old son was The Beast-

DH was a suit of armor.

This was October 2012 during the soft opening.

Incredible. But they definitely had "types" in mind- and they nailed it.

I'd expect she'll get one of the smaller parts because they need them to follow directions.

I am assuming this is talking about Enchanted Tales with Belle? Sorry, I haven't seen this yet. Can someone explain to me exactly what happens when you go to this? I was trying to decide if I should use a FP+ on it, because I am not sure if my 6 & 4 year old nephews will like it. Also does everyone get to meet Belle at the end? Any help is appreciated. :)

Only those in the show are guaranteed a photo with Belle, but they try to get the other kids in the room a photo OP as well. It just isn't guaranteed. There are plenty of small parts for everyone who wants one. You will go to an area just before you enter the library and parts will be given to those who volunteer (and some who don't volunteer-- usually dads). Then when you enter the library, the story of BatB is recreated. It's a cute show. DS and DH have each been in it once, and DD twice.

Last time I was there they picked a girl who looked to be about 6 or so, she didn't want to do it so her mom(?) ended up playing the role of beast.

My son is 4 and he always gets picked to be Chip.

Awesome, thank you!! :)

Why do you think she needs to sit and watch if she can't be Beast? They did a very good job putting all the kids in that wanted to be in when we went. They asked all the children who weren't picked for "roles" if they'd like a part, and they had extra plates and such. My sons, (twin 6 yos) were picked for Beast and Maurice. My DD was only 2 though and is very shy, but at the end, she joined in the parade and was introduced to Belle as a "little teacup" and had her picture made. I think if she has the desire and the bravery to be in it, they will find her a role in the show.

We were there 2 weeks ago and my dd 4 was picked to be the beast. We have been a couple of different times. She really wanted to be the beast and roared really loud.

My DD was picked as the beast the first time we did ETWB. She was 6 at that time. She wanted to be the beast, so when they asked for a Roar, she gave them one that could not be ignored. I also think there might not have been any young boys in our group that seating. It was really sweet and we have some great photos from it.

We've done ETWB a few times, I saw them pick a boy that was probably 3 for beast once, but it was a boy. (I've also seen them pick an older boy one time who totally did not want to do it, but his Mom basically made him- it was hilarious- the photos from that are going to be good blackmail for his wedding someday). I don't think I have ever seen them pick one that looked to be under 3 for of the "major" roles except maybe Chip.

My DD has been Chip and Maurice when she was 7 & 8 respectively. DS sat and watched the 1st time then vied for beast. He was 11. LOL and thought she was "hot". DH has been a suit of armor once. There are so many parts I know she'll get a great one if not the beast. I think Maurice and ms Potts are great roles too for an outgoing little girl. Just prep her for anything and she'll just love being with Belle

I don't think she necessarily *needs* to sit out if she doesn't get the big role, but I think she might enjoy watching it more than being in it at her age. But I also know she'd love to dance with Belle :)
If they go twice though, I think any part would do when she knew what to expect. A second go-around would be dependent on lines though.
