You Want to Stay Where?! A July PTR* TR LINK 8/8!

My next round of guesses:

Signature/Celebrity Chef - Narcoossees (I'd love to try this place!)
Character/Dinner Show - Hoop De Doo Revue
Table Service - Sci Fi Dine In
Counter Service - Landscape of Flavors (The menus look really interesting here!)

I also need to get my guess in for Day 3 ADR's... but I haven't decided yet! :lmao: I'm giving myself a deadline of tomorrow evening. :thumbsup2

my picks :)

Wolfgang Puck-the Dining Room
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Earl of Sandwich

So excited to see you are taking another trip. I still need to finish reading the last one but am excited to read about the new one as well.

Your whole conversation with Bryan cracked me up big time. Crap is anti value too, and we have never stayed in a value at WDW yet. He is in Boston right now. When we were Facetiming 2 days ago, he informed me that he just found out he has another week of vacation for 2013 (he did not know he was getting). My wheels starting turning. Can I add a week at WDW to our weekend at Dl this October? I ran the numbers and determined it would be possible if we do the regular dining plan as opposed to the deluxe and stay at AoA. He said we will talk about it when he gets back, but I am hoping. The only problem is we can only afford the mermaid rooms, and you know how he feels about girlie things for the boys. I am hoping it works out. Maybe I can find a way to try at least one night in the Cars room (more than double the mermaid price).

I am really excited to read about your thoughts on the resort whether we go or not. It looks really nice. After our transportation issues at GF last time, I doubt the value would be any worse.

The Royal room at Port Orleans is quite nice. The tips you mentioned from the AoA thread scared me a bit, so I will have to read into them before Crap returns.

Although I was too late to play the ADR game, I am happy to report that I got a lot right. You have some great ADRs.

I love the items you bought, especially the Aurora dress. I cannot wait to see Maddie in it.

Here are my votes for this round.
Signature/Celebrity Chef: Narcossees

Character/Dinner Show: Whispering Canyon

Table Service: Sci Fi

Counter Service: Earl of Sandwich

And my ADR guess is Cinderella's Royal Table- It is BBB day

Maddie looked adorable in her outfits. Glad you had a great day!!!

Oh my gosh, I missed a whole voting period, please forgive me! In my defense I hosted easter at my house with 22 people and my oldest was in France and Italy over spring break with the French club from school and I was a little bit on edge those entire 10 days!!!!! First and foremost my votes for 6: Signature- Wolfgang Puck Character- Hoop Dee Doo Revue Table- Sci-fi Dine-In and Counter- Earl of Sandwich.
I love the fashion show from Maddie, so super cute! the pink sparkly skirt turned out great! And I love love love your wine glasses and fiesta ware in your kitchen, beautiful house!!!!!
I would suggest doing the Animation class with Maddie but bring a pencil with an eraser, my middle child was six on the last trip and is a great artist but a perfectionist and was upset by the end because they give you one piece of paper and a pencil with no eraser, we will do this again and I will bring pencils with erasers and possibly extra paper!
My kid's easter baskets used to look like Maddies', I scaled down the past two years, I set a budget and buy things they can use not junk from the dollar store (they get plenty of that from the grandparents!) I usually buy a dvd, clothes, fave candy and jewelry or hair accesories!

I love that you shared your experience! I read it a few times, and it warmed my heart. Disney World is the best isn't it?

Thanks so much! I'll let you know about the Etsy shop-I have a few projects that I'm under a time restraint with, but I may do it soon!

Disney IS the best! Thank you for your kind words. I am really impressed with how generous, compassionate and considerate DISboard members are. I truly feel welcomed and respected here. A girl could definitely get used to this!:worship:

And I am waiting with bated breath for an Etsy announcement. I realllly love the sparkly skirt you made for Maddie.:lovestruc

Before I get to the the Tournament of Food, I just wanted to comment on how AWESOME Maddie's Easter basket was. She is a lucky lucky girl!

Okay...Tournament of Food:

Narcoossees - I would love to eat here. It sounds fantastic!
Hoop Dee Doo - My husband and I did this on our honeymoon and it was so much fun. We had the best time.
Whispering Canyon Cafe - I want to try this, too!
Landscape of Flavors - This is on our itinerary for May. It seems like they have something for everyone and that is very appealing as I have picky picky children!

Thanks again, for the super fun game. I really enjoy watching how the bracket is shaping up!

Hola! :wave2: My votes are:

Signature/Celebrity Chef - Narcoossees

Character/Dinner Show - Hoop Dee Doo Revue

Table Service - Whispering Canyon Cafe

Counter Service - Earl of Sandwich

Hi Shannon,
Here are my votes for the bracket. I'm beginning to realize how many restaurants I've never tried doing this. Most of the restaurants I've voted for are ones I want to try, rather than ones I've been too.

Narcoosees, hoop de doo, sci-fi, and earl of sandwich.

Can't remember if made my guess for your ADR game, so I'll do it now, just in case.

I think you'll head on over to BOG after BBB.

Your daughter is soooo precious!

The clothes you are making are just great. You are very talented!

Maddie isn't spoiled, she's just pampered! I tell everyone that my DGD is quite pampered! Looks like she had lots of fun on Easter, and just love her spinning in her Aurora dress and posing in her maxi dress... well that's just my style! Maddie is adorable and seems so delightful! And, do please let us all know if you open up etsy.... as you do make beautiful clothes!

And now, onto this week's match ups!

In the Signature/Celebrity Chef Category

Narcoossees (not eaten here, but one day would love to!)

1900 Park Fare (breakfast) (It's a must for us, usually on our last day)

Whispering Canyon Café (We've enjoyed and it's becoming a must do too)

Earl of Sandwich (Love the sandwiches so much that I used up several unused counter service to take a few home) (always drive and learned to take an ice chest for birthday cake and sandwiches, and even some noodle bowls! - leave no counter service or snack credits unused)

And, not to sound too strange, my oldest son joined us for a few days, so we used his left over dinning credits for ADRs, but forgot about all those counter services and snacks...

And, did we decide where to eat after BBB? CRT is always my guest... a princess should always eat in her castle!

Whew.... almost missed this weeks ADR game!

Oooh, where did you get that cute maxi dress? So cute! I have to do the same thing with my girl - take her shopping with me. She definitely knows her mind when it comes to clothes and the more dresses and skirts, the better. We have also been trying to finagle ways to wear summer dresses in the cold weather here.

Also, before I forget, if you are trying to hit up Characterpalooza, you may need to do a bit more research. It is no longer in the Animation building and I hear it can get a bit hectic. It was so nice and calm and lowkey in the building, that I don't know if I'd like fighting for a pic in the Streets.

I am trying to tone down the character M&Gs for this upcoming trip. we'll see how that goes. It would be a lot easier if someone was willing to try adult rides.....

We have Lego Friends all over our living room. I am running out of table space for them. Ack!

The dress is from Children's Place! They have some really cute stuff this year.

Thanks for the tips on Characterpalloza. We've never actually made it there, and we only had an outside shot at it this year because I had to make an early dinner ADR. It really seemed like one of the hidden gems for character hunters-it's too bad that they've changed it.

Oh those Lego friends sets. The only problem I have with them is the price! They are crazy expensive, but she loves them.

Just doing my part and being as stubborn as possible... :rotfl2:

My picks this week

Wolfgang Puck - I loved WPE, so I'd like to try the dining room, and I guess I'll make sure to vote against Narcoossee's to stay with my anti-GF voting trend.

Hoop De Doo - This is one that I really want to do sometime.

Whispering Canyon - This is an 11??? Really???? :rolleyes1 I actually like Sci-Fi so I had to think about it a little bit, but not for long.

Landscape of Flavors - We looked at the menu at EoS and it just didn't really appeal to us, at least not enough to make us choose it over WPE. I think I'd rather eat at Landscape and see the AoA resort.

Maddie really had a great Easter weekend, between the Easter baskets and all her new clothes. I'm starting to think she might have more Disney and princess clothes than most Disney Stores. :rotfl2:

You know, she just might! :rotfl: The Tournament of Food would not be the same without you.

Here are my votes for the next round:

Signature/Celebrity Chef Category
Narcoossees

Character/Dinner Show
Hoop Dee Doo Revue

Table Service
Sci-Fi Dine In

Counter Service
Earl of Sandwich

I had to go with the 6 seed for all of them since they all happen to be ones that we plan on eating at on our trip :woohoo:

Wow, it looks like Maddie had a great Easter! Thanks for sharing all of the pics! And love your Fiestaware which I spotted in one of the pics - I have built up quite a collection over the years - a mix of new and vintage pieces. I love mixing all of the bright colors!

Mommy-Daughter shopping days are so much fun!! Looks like Maddie will be all set for the warm weather :sunny:

I love my fiestaware! I don't have many old pieces-just one, but it sure does brighten up the kitchen and meal times! Do you find your older stuff on Ebay?

Maddie is adorable in all the shots, but these are my two faves:

Thanks Ponzi-those were my favorites too

Thank you!

I confused myself. I read that afwdwfan was the one who kept Citrico's from getting a clean sweep, and I was like, "HUH? I totally voted for Monsieur Paul!"
Except, no. It seems I didn't vote at all. I made the decisions in my head an apparently never posted them :confused3?! I'm awesome like that.

Anyhoodle, I am really voting for this week. Here's my choices:

In the Signature/Celebrity Chef Category

Narcoossees--That seafood looks nummy!

The Character/Dinner Show region

Hoop Dee Doo Revue--I am definitely taking my kids and their bad jokes here soon :rotfl:.

The Table Service battle

Whispering Canyon Cafe--Wild dinners are the norm around our house, so I think we'd fit right in.

and the Counter Service Region

Landscape of Flavors--Because we're staying at AoA in September and OMG I CAN'T WAIT to eat here!

Love Maddie's Easter basket(s)! I know you say she's spoiled because she's an only child, but all three of my kids pretty much had baskets like that :lmao:! They're just spoiled cause Mommy can't quit shopping!:rolleyes1
I'm pretty stoked about the no-sleeves Aurora dress, too. That's not the one Brynn's requesting now (of course, now that they FINALLY came out with it), but I'm thinking of buying it anyway for when she swings back over to Aurora fan-dom.
We watched Wreck It Ralph for the first time a few days ago. Isn't it great!?
And kind of off-topic, I LOVE your hot tub area! How cool!

The voting only in your head is something I can totally see myself doing.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one who does so much spoiling! I was so excited when the sleeveless Aurora came out. Maddie has been wanting to be Aurora at BBB for the last 2 years, but didn't because of the sleeves. She's really excited to take it to WDW with us.

Wreck it Ralph was so cute. I loved all of the '80s related video game jokes. Maddie really likes Vanellope now, so I'm hoping she'll still be out in July, but I'm guessing focus will swing to the new Monsters Inc by then.

When we were house hunting we weren't looking for a hot tub, but when we found this house it certainly was a bonus! We really love it out there!

Oh my gosh, last spring character lines were CRAZY! That week was so weird, we were walking on to all the rides, but waiting over an hour to see characters, thank god Tanessa was with me or Tyler would’ve killed me, bahaha!!

I would do Narcooses, seems classier, it’s something I haven’t tried, lol.

Hoop De Doo! Hands down! I’ve always had something go wrong or just take FOREVER at 1900 for breakfast, and the hoop is SO worth the money, plus, I mean, all the beer/sangria/wine you can drink plus all the food PLUS A SHOW?! WHAT, WHAT?! It wins. You also might get a little tipsy and then run into someone awesome at the Poly…just saying…

Now, I would pick WCC between the two, BUT if you do Hoop, I find that they have a similar style of food, so I’d want to go with Sci Fi….hmmm….I’m gonna go SCI FI! It has a really cool interior and vanilla/cherry cokes and cute little videos playing.

Landscape of Flavours. There’s no question here. It’s beautiful in there, they’ve got so many different options with a little different specialty to each of the meals, and some of the CMs in there are just wonderful!!

I SEE PERIWINKLE!!!!! Man, I need to get myself one of those!

Nice hot tub…..so jealous…

Maddie’s so adorable in her aurora dress! Love that one! Honestly, the dresses at the Disney store right now are WAY superior to the ones in the parks! Oh my gosh that Ariel outfit is the cutest thing ever, I want one. Man I wish I could get away with that! Lol.

HaHaHa! You might get a little tipsy at the Hoop and have a DISmeet at the Poly! Love it!

She was so excited to get that Periwinkle doll! She plays with it all the time.

I haven't seen any pics of the new parks dress designs. I hope we aren't disappointed in the choices when we go to the BBB.

Isn't that Ariel outfit adorable? You should see if they have a girls size 14!

Ooh, Maddie's maxi dress is so pretty! What a great model she is!

Here are my guesses:

Narcoossees -- People seem to love this place. I've never been to a signature before, and when I do go, there are others I'd like to hit up first, but Narcoossees does look good.

Hoop Dee Doo Revue -- I definitely want to go here someday.

Sci-Fi Dine In -- Lots of fun!

Earl of Sandwich -- I'm a sandwich girl and these are great!

Thanks for voting!

Every time I've seen Aurora in the park I think she looks weird. Maddie is the best looking Aurora ever! :cutie: I love how the dress is such a vibrant pink.

I've never had an easter basket in my life. All we would get for Easter was chocolate, lots of chocolate. This whole concept is all new to me. I don't know yet if I'll start this tradition with Peanut. One thing I've never done but will do for sure though, is the egg hunt. It looks like so much fun! Your kitchen looks so clean, pretty, and the counters are clutter free. How do you keep it like that? :worship: You have a hot tub INSIDE your house. Dying of jealousy right here. :faint: Seriously, your new house (well, not so new anymore) looks amazing.

Signature/Celebrity Chef
Narcoossees

My very first signature dining experience, and my very first filet mignon ever (which sparked a whole new love! :lovestruc)

Character/Dinner Show
1900 Park Fare (breakfast)

Neither of these appeal to me all that much, but Hoop Dee Doo even less.

Table Service
Whispering Canyon Cafe

I don't really care about the food at either one, but the atmosphere seems more fun there.

Counter Service
Landscape of Flavors

I don't care much for sandwiches in general. Plus, LoF has such great variety and quality!

Thank you Mel!

You should do the easter egg hunt! It's lots of fun. We just fill Maddie's with jelly beans, coins, and stickers. It's her favorite part of Easter.

I have found that the secret to having a clutter free kitchen is lots and lots of cabinets. :rotfl: The kitchen never looked like that in our old house!

We are very fortunate to have found this house. The hot tub was totally a bonus.

Voting for Narcoosees, Hoop de do Revue, Sci-Fi, and Landscape of Flavors. :)

Thanks Marissa!

Absolutely adore the Easter photos!! You definitely have a future model on your hands! Maybe she will be a famous fashion designer :goodvibes
My DD Ava had her first Easter egg hunts this year, yes 3, one inside at home, one outside at home set up by Grammy and Papa and then a 3rd outside at an Aunts house, by the 3rd she was a pro :lmao:

My picks this round for ToF are......

Narcoossees, I just think it sounds great, I would really like to eat here someday and I love the GF!

1900 Park Fare, HDDR gets some great reviews but I really like the Step Sisters and Lady Tremaine. I think this is more for our liking!

Sci Fi, I am picking Sci Fi bc it is a little tradition for my brothers and I. I love the atmosphere and the old movie clips and even though I think the all you can eat skillet sounds awesome, I'm going with SF

Earl of Sandwich, simply bc the sandwiches rock lol!

How much fun to have 3 Easter egg hunts! Did she love doing it?

DH is a HUGE Earl of Sandwich fan. He'd readily agree with youl

My votes are for:

Narcossees
1900 Park Fare breakfast because I've actually eaten there!
Whispering Canyon Cafe cause we have an ADR there in Sept!
And Landscape of Flavors

Maddie got an awesome Easter basket! We were always spoiled on holidays so I approve lmao. I love that she put the Aurora dress on to egg hunt.

Wow 92 eggs?! What an ambitious Easter bunny! Your house is so gorgeous!!

I love Maddie's shopping choices. It's so funny to me how girls mature so much faster than boys. My little brother is 10 and couldn't careless what he wears but the little girls are so into their clothes! They were already picking out dresses to the valentines day dance in October.

Thanks Courtney! 92 eggs seemed like a lot, but she had a ball finding them, so I'm glad we did it.

That's funny about your brother. I do wish she cared a little less, but then she wouldn't be her. :rotfl:

Good Morning!:wave2:

Ok wow!!! The Easter Bunny was especially nice to Maddie  ;) Did she love the dress or what??! The Easter Egg hunt in the house is a very cute idea. Stephen still gets a basket, too. But, unfortunately he is now at the age that he doesn't "believe" anymore. Going to be sad when the other two don't either.

Love Maddie's new summer attire :thumbsup2 Very stylish. And I totally understand how you feel about getting her "input" on clothes. We have the same problem. It's funny how they know at such a young age what they prefer wearing

Happy Sunday!
Heather

I am dreading the day that Maddie doesn't believe anymore. Sadly I think it's a lot closer than I want it to be.

We usually have to have our egg hunts inside. It's just too darn cold outside on Easter morning to hunt there.

She's always known her own mind about clothes. I'm in big trouble when she's a teen.

Whoa, the clothes you make are amazing. You are very talented, Maddie is a lucky girl.

I love the dress she was wearing on Easter Sunday and the long dress she is wearing later in your post.

My Mum has seen those short princess dresses on the US Disney Store site and thinks I should buy the Snow White one this year. Seeing the Aurora dress makes me think she is right!

Speaking of Snow White, what Katt did for you was awesome and so generous. If you don't mind, I am going to borrow the Snow White clip. My eldest is called Madison and I think she would love to see that message. I hope this is ok?

Great plans and I love how most everything Maddie has is Disney!

x

Thank you so much! The dresses are from the Children's Place!

The Disney Store princess dresses are really, really good quality. I've bought tons of them over the years, and they look as good as they did they day we got them. If you're worried about quality-don't. You won't be disappointed.

Share away! I think Katt would love that-and I know Maddie would!

photo5.jpg

I love this! I've seen a few maxi dresses in various kids stores lately and was thinking about whether I liked the style for the just-older-than-toddler set (Adison is newly-age-5) and this picture has tipped me over the edge into the "dying to buy one for my own daughter" category. :) It looks adorable on Maddy!

By the way, is her name Madeline/Madelyn or Madison? Or is Maddy her given name? Just wondering!

Oh and I love the easter basket! We do every holiday up big too..when you have just 1 darling princess daughter, it is easy to go a little overboard! I don't call it spoiled, though, I call it getting everything she deserves :)

Yay! the maxi is from the Children's Place. It's by far her favorite new dress. I wasn't sure how I'd like them on such a young girl either, but once she tried it on I was sold.

She's Madison. We were actually going to name her Madeline after my grandma, but my mom's feelings got a little hurt, so she became Madison Lynn (my mom and MiL's middle names are Lynn). We were going to call her Maddie anyway, but I do still wish I'd held my ground.

I have a friend who (while spoiling Maddie) always says 'you can't spoil with love". I like your philosophy too. :goodvibes

And now, onto this week's match ups!

The Table Service battle is

and the Counter Service Region pits

6. Earl of Sandwich

Thanks for playing!

LOVE the Easter pics and the Maddie model photo shoot!!

We hide/hunt a ton of easter eggs too!! We started many many years ago filling the eggs up with all the lose change that DH throws in a basket every day - it was a way for our boys to count some money!!

We're in the process of packing our house up to move, so my sister hosted Easter this year and we both filled up eggs and hid them all at her house..

my boys had $28-$30 EACH in their eggs and b/c we kept telling my boys to let their cousin Rileigh get the eggs (she's not quite 5 yet and my boys are 11 and 13 1/2) she ended up with almost $40 in her eggs!!

YIKES!! :scared1:

OK..back to the PTR!! My choices:

11. Whispering Canyon Cafe - I just LOVE this place...but then again we LOVE the WL!!!

and the Counter Service Region pits
6. Earl of Sandwich - SUCH a great place and fabulous sammies!!!

That's a lot of cash! How fun! I actually prefer hiding money to candy, but we did a mix of both. I think Maddie came away with about $20 this year. She's saving it all for WDW!

Hey Shannon,
Which trip report were you reading about the Royal Rooms?

T

Here's the link to the TR--it's a really good one!

I'm so glad you're here Kim!

We were excited to try AoA for a while, but we're REALLY excited about the Royal Guest Rooms! The people on the AoA thread seemed really down on the resort in general. So disappointing because it looks amazing. I've heard really good things about it from people reading this report though. The Cars area looks spectacular doesn't it? Bry really wants to stay there! :rotfl:

I bet you guessed a ton of the ADRs right!

She's really excited to wear that Aurora dress to WDW! I wouldn't be surprised if it's the dress she wears the first day.

I know right?! As if that could ever happen. Who knows what's going to happen when we do the Hoop again in Sept! And this time it'll be with Mom and her friend, I spy some CRAZY shenanigans!

I will totally check out some big sizes in kids clothes, all the time! I'm pretty sure if it wasn't for my bust I'd fit in the biggest size of the princess dresses!

I don't *think* the dresses in the parks have changed much. I can let ya know in May? :confused3 I feel like all the redesigned ones are in the Disney stores?

Ugh, I buy practically anything with Periwinkle on it! I cannot wait until she's back in the parks...if she's coming back? Lawl

Wow! You've been busy! Thank you so much for the tips on the Animation class. I think we'll do just that. I never would have thought that the pencils wouldn't have erasers. That would have made Maddie crazy!

I have no tolerance for the 'junk' items either. There's just no where to put that stuff! She has a little plastic dresser type thing that's devoted to those treasures, but once it's full I start editing for her. ;)

Disney IS the best! Thank you for your kind words. I am really impressed with how generous, compassionate and considerate DISboard members are. I truly feel welcomed and respected here. A girl could definitely get used to this!:worship:

The DIS really is the best. As silly as it sounds, I find that being a part of such a kind, positive community makes me want to be a better person in real life. I don't let myself be as negative and harsh since I joined the DIS.

My reaction was to say "I'll make you a skirt!" but I have to be honest. I just finished altering 2 prom dresses, and I have a pretty intricate dress to make for a very special 18 year old to make next. Once I've finished those, Maddie's Alice, and some stuff for Carissa I will definitely let you know. I also have an idea for what could be some really cool princess outfits too. I think you might like them too!

Thanks for playing!

Hi Shannon,
Here are my votes for the bracket.

Thanks for playing! I feel the same way-there are so many restaurants that I'd like to try and haven't. I really enjoy finding out how everyone else feels about them!

Your daughter is soooo precious!

Thank you so much! I promise to let you know when I'm ready to start taking more orders whether through Etsy or just private message. ;) I need a little time, but I think it'll be sooner rather than later.

That's a great idea! If we drove I would do the exact same thing!

Lawl

LOL! I wonder who you might run into this time??

I guess I didn't take into consideration the bust size. That's a bummer (on some levels :rotfl:)

I hope they're similar to the one's that Disney Store is carrying. They're great!
