So I'm making our final payment in 2 days and would like to request a building and floor, if not a specific room request at Pop. I know I want Lake View. It will be DH, DS7 and me! We will have a rental so we will rarely use the buses.

Please tell me which lake view building you prefer the most and why. Also, any thoughts on what floor to request. Lastly, how do you typically make the request, just call the reservation center?

I know this is only a request, if I get it great! If not, how bad can it be.....we're at Disny!!!

I was there mid OCT and we were in the 70's building 5 (If that is the 1 with the mickey phone) and lakeview. There were 3 families and at night we would pull our chairs out and watch the sun set and noticed that it was always quiet. It was amazing, no airplanes either, we were wondering if Disney pays big to not be in any flight plans. One morning there were a bunch of hotair balloons over the lake, it was gorgeous.
The only drawback to our building was the walk to the parking lot, it is about the furthest possible.

I would look at mousesavers.com Mary gives a detailed breakdown of many resorts and what builds are better.

Sorry but I can't find this information on Mousesavers. All I could find was a list of which resort she feels is the best bargain for your money.

I try to avoid a lake view room because it also comes with a view of the unsightly, unfinished legendary years section. If I had to have a lake view I would choose the 70's A bldg.

HA! I have the answer as I have stayed there 3 times, 50's building (not a preferred room) 3rd or 4th floor, lake view. Quiet and a beautiful view.

We stayed in the 50's section, 3rd floor lake view and could see fireworks from our window. It was quiet, had a nice view and was close to the bowling pin pool and a short walk to the food court...not sure about parking because we used the buses.

bumping, anyone else. Seems like the 50s has the most votes. How about the 60s I like it's theming.

First trip we were assigned 70's and it was a great spot. To the left was the lake and view of the bridge, to the right we could see the main building. Only the parking lot seemed to be a far walk. Lush landscape, quiet and yet only a couple minutes to all the main stuff. 2nd photo, the building with the giant 80 on it is food court and main building.

Second trip I requested Lake View 50's because we found that the pool over there (bowling pin) was better from my son who is disabled. Our room faced straight at lake and MGM. One night we watched the fireworks at MGM during a private party. View was fine, location was quiet and not far from anything, including the parking lot.

So for third trip this year, I again requested 50's lakeview, and had the best room of all. We faced EPCOT. Yes we could see the laundry staging area in the parking lot but we could watch Illuminations, WISHES and if there had been a private party at MGM we would have seen that. We are returning next year and requested same spot.

The 60's area is very cute but some downsides for ME is being so close to main pool and activity (we like quiet), being right by bridge which is a busier area, and paying the preferred rates that most of the building has. You could luck out on the back sides facing 70's and 50's but then you are out of the main 60's fun anyway. The top photos with the buildings with the YO YO stairwells are 60's.

Thanks HopperFan! You certainly gave me something to think about.

So 50s lake view looks out over the old Legendary buildings..... do you see the Legendary Buildings in the 70s.....how about the 60?

You can see the buildings from most lakeview rooms except for maybe a few depending on the angle of the room. And how close will depend on section because legendary rooms are only up by the 50's. You can see them from the 70's like my photo shows, just farther away. Now on south side of 70's you would not see but you are looking at lake and parking lot and not sure if you can see roadway over by Sports complex. I know you can see the complex lights.

See if this works...

To the left of lake is the main building and the two room buildings unfinished.
Two 60's buildings are at the bridge
Three 50's above the 60's
Two 70's below the 60's

Might help give you a potential view.

PS I have always had an upper floor. I think it's quieter and this last trip certainly gave us a good view of fireworks.
