First off, thanks to all my fans, I appreciate the encouragement!
Next, our credit re-cap:
20 TS left
17 CS left
23 snacks left
As you can see, we are not doing very well managing our snack credits! But on to Saturday.
We start the day with the Princess Breakfast at Akershus. This was a surprise for Aurora, but I think she knew something was up when I put out her Mulan dress to wear. Although DH and I had eaten at Akershus before, it was a looooooong time ago, before it was a character meal. DH had always liked it there because they had all kinds of freaky cold fishes to try at the buffet (yuck).
Our ADR was for 8:45 AM. We got to the EPCOT gate around 8:30, and thanks to the boards, I knew to look down to the left. Under a sign that said "Princess Breakfast" there were CM's with clip boards. They checked for our name on the list, and then allowed us to go through the turnstile.
We walked over to Norway, gave our name, and waited about 5 minutes. We then waited in line for a picture with Belle. Mid-way through our meal, we were approached with the picture and asked if we would care to purchase it. We did not (we were allowed to take pictures as well), but I should note that I understand that they are changing the way it will work. The meal will include the photo, and I believe they are raising the price as well.
We were then seated in the room with cold buffet table. Our server was Maren and she was very nice. With the exception of Belle, none of the princesses were out yet, so I asked if Mulan would be there today, but she said it was a surprise! We were offered a beverage and told to help ourselves to the buffet, and she would be out with the hot offerings.
The cold buffet included a nice selection of fruit, pastries and some fish and cheese (not as much fish and cheese as they used to offer). The salmon was very good, but, unfortunately, no bagels! A few people were remarking that they would put it on a biscuit and try to make do.
As I noted, I did try some of the salmon, and it was quite good. I also had some fruit which was all very fresh. The pastries were OK.
The hot breakfast platter included scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and potato casserole. I thought the potato casserole was quite good, DH did not care for it at all, but he was filling up on the fish and cheese (he was happily chowing down on the herring, which I will not eat at all). With the exception of the potatos, he was pleased with all the food.
Aurora is a breakfast meat girl so I think all she ate was the sausage and bacon, except for a little fruit that I insisted she eat. DS is a real pastry boy, and I think I lost track of how many biscuits he ate. He also had some fruit at my insistence.
Now, the princesses! The morning we were there we had Mary Poppins, Snow White, Jasmine, and yes, MULAN. She was the last to come to the table, and I think she was so happy to see a Mulan (there were lots of Cinderellas and Snow Whites, but I saw no other little girl dressed as Mulan). They all seemed very accomodating with pictures, and I thought the "flow" was all very well done. Of course, we had a fairly early seating, I don't know what happens as the day goes on.
All in all, I thought it was a nice meal and experience, but I don't know that it would be on the top of list to try again, especially if they raise the price.
We hung out in Epcot for a while, and then headed over to Typhoon Lagoon for the afternoon. Look for my review of lunch at Typhoon Tilly's soon! And then, Raglan Road for dinner.
