As for Indian food, most towns and cities will have a large choice of Indian Restuarants and most offer vegetarian dishes.
You may find that the food in UK Indian restaurants is not quite what you would call traditional Indian food - it's been modified to suit English tastes :)

You will also find vegetarian options in most good restaurants.

hi there and boy are you going to have a great holiday for sure...the lake district is beautiful especialy if you land lucky with the weather.

Edinburgh ..so much to see and such a historical old city...your son will love the castle and maybe take him on a ghost trip....they are spooky but fun...

Inverness is also lovely but alot smaller city ..in fact there are towns in scotland that are bigger than inverness....but it is a good central point for taking in the surrounding area if you have access to a car...loch ness and the monster centre is great and within an hours drive there are lots of things you sone would love.....the landmark outdoor centre is my daughters favourite along with the wildlife park ...

youll have a great time ..im sure ..just bring a little sunshine with you in your luggage..

cheers the noo
