Will agree that I am always checking the weather as the trip gets closer but find that is rarely ever correct!
Also stop buying groceries and find that even I don't mind eating hot dogs or some other foods that i normally hate because it means more last minute $$ for disney. We also have a local pizza place that we get collect tokens for with each pizza and after so many tokens we get a free pizza. Well we always save that free one for then night before we leave. That way we get free dinner and no cleaning the kitchen!
But I have never weighed the suitcases. However i will on my next trip because I knew nothing about this on my last one and got very lucky! I thought it was still the 75lb limit. Well we got there with our huge big big big black thing on wheels and it weighed 49lbs!!!! Then the lady said I hope you pack exactly the same stuff in there on the way home! Uh-oh! You know that will never happen after a week in disney i am cramming stuff into every spot in the luggage i can find. And on the way home by some sort of miracle or pixie dust perhaps it was 49.5lbs!
So i will be weighing next time but with cutting it that close i don't know how well our cheap scale will do.
You guys are all so hilarious!! I have started doing a few of these things, but mainly posting on the DIS boards everytime my countdown gets lower, and I was soooo excited when it finally hit single digits!!!
I have most of my clothes all laid out and ready to be packed! And today I can finally check the weather to see what it will be like the say we arrive!!
I can't wait and am jumped off the walll...so I read the DIS more each day, because I am having such a hard time concentrating on work.
Or when your family wonders why you are counting the clean underwear each family member has and how many times you have to wash clothes again before you go.
Or when you go to the grocery store and all you bring home are snacks "for the parks".
Or when you announce that you MUST get to the mall TONIGHT so you can get just a few more Disney Dollars after you just counted up all the change in the glass jar.
Or you start charging up your batteries for the cameras and cell phones....then tell every one...."don't use that, I just charged the battery for WDW!!!"
Or you call your internet server to complain that it isn't downloading fast enough.......you MUST check the park hours and EMH ....ONE MORE TIME!!!!
Or everyone at works start to say "shut up already" when you announce how many days/hours until you leave!!
As for the suitcases..........we never worry about getting down there.. We always pack, then bring out an empty suitcase and "spread" things out. That way we have room for the "extras" coming home........It is the weight coming home that we worry about!
....when you keep tripping over the suit cases placed by the door. Well, maybe I'm just getting a bit ahead of myself. What can I say I like to be ready ahead of time. I'm not sure I'm going to make it completely sane though.
This is very funny. My husband thinks I am in a breed by myself. I had to show him this thread. I am going solo on this trip so not as much to plan. I am going to play it by ear. I have a few things set up,but other than that I am going to do what I want to.
I buy my "Disney" body wash, lotion, and body spray from Bath and Body, and I only use it when we go to WDW. Sometimes when I'm feeling nostalgic for WDW. I sniff the empty bottle and it brings me right back there. Even my kids know it's mom's "Disney smell."
I tried that and it was great til Bath and Body went and discontinued my "Disney scent"-Tangerine Spice. Today I went out and bought my new shirt for WDW. Is that a tradition for anyone-buy something new to wear at WDW? I buy a new shirt every trip. And I know it's getting close when I buy it. First thing DH said when he came home and saw it, "Wow! That shirt reminds me of OKW!"
Having just completed my 14th lifetime trip to WDW this past March I am about to jinx my luck by stating truthfully that as far as I am concerned Central Florida is an arid wasteland. I have not seen one (not one) drop of rain in all my visits. I have gone at different times and have just be really lucky.
Wait a minute, I just remembered that a couple of years ago it did rain when I was at the Airport waiting for my plane home, but that doesn't count.
So I am going to attempt to extend my lucky streak to those of you that are leaving soon. Good luck and stay dry.
