I know it hurts and it does suck but it's better that they don't reply the way you'd wished if the feelings weren't there.

That’s a rough one. There can be a lot of reasons why someone doesn’t say it back. You might have caught them by surprise. They might be more comfortable showing love with actions than saying it with words. It may simply take longer for them to express deeper emotions than it takes you. And, of course, there is always the reality that sometimes we have stronger feelings for someone than they have for us.

Relationships are tough sometimes.

Thank You is better than a lot of other replies - it could be a positive thank you or just thank you - but at least it wasn’t something negative like I don’t feel the same - but it does leave you wondering which is not good - I am sorry this did not go the way you were hoping it would go !
