ITigger&Belle--You don't wash your bagged salad???? Ha! I never used to either but I've read a few articles lately that says you should. Apparently they don't do it so well at the lettuce factory and there have been isolated incidents of e.coli. Nothing is safe anymore.

Thanks!!! I've caught my family (kids) making sandwiches and not even washing the head lettuce, so the bag lettuce must be doing a better job than no job.

I don't like the way they wash the spinach, though--that always seems gritty which totally grosses me out. Can't take gritty spinach.

I also wash my bagged spinach lettuce, eewh! Gritty!
I think we spent under $20 and we can get enough lettuce in there for at least 5 of us. love it!
