You can't say "gun clip" on TV?

Was channeling surfing when I saw a music video for a song I like ("Bucky Don Gone" by M.I.A.) Well in the song there's one line "Gymnastic, superfit, muscling your gun clip," but they silenced the words "gun clip."

I wonder why...

These days there is up to ten versions of songs based on what channel they are being played on.

that is a little wierd to beep out gun clip.

i still remember thinking it was way over the top when radio stations beeped out the word "joint" on tom petty's "you don't know how it feels". it's not like a swear word or something.

It could be that those words were censored because they were deemed as promoting gun violence. The media sometimes goes to the extreme over certain issues.

They seem to take just about every word out of songs when they show videos.

I work for a few cable networks and gun clip is not on our list of no-no's.

I can't remember which channel, but in an airing of The Breakfast Club, they censored Bender's line "Eat my shorts" and made it "Eat my socks".
