I have seen several posts saying that aerosol cans (such as hairspray, etc.) are not allowed on planes and had not been allowed for some time. This is not true. I did a lot of research when we were getting to go on our honeymoon this summer, and I found they were allowed on all airlines- with some size restrictions. Here is a quote from the South West Airlines web page -

"Personal care items containing hazardous materials (e.g., flammables, aerosols) totaling no more than 70 ounces may be carried onboard. Contents of each container may not exceed 16 fluid ounces."

I looked at lots of hairspray bottles, etc. Most of them were between 5 and 8 fluid ounces, so they would be allowed. All the airlines I checked with had pretty much the same policy. I have called several of them this morning to see if this has changed and I have been told by each airline I spoke with that is has not.

Just wanted to throw that out for any of you who are trying to figure out what you can and cannot pack. Feel free to take your hairspray!
