You can spit on Space Mountain from here! An April '13 TR UPDATED 10/19 p. 28

I would so be at that 7am EMH!!! I love that perk, and I'm glad not so many people take advantage of it!:thumbsup2

Enchanted Tales with Belle is awesome! Our experience with it has just started in my TR, so I agree with the misty eye thing!

I think they did an amazing job in the new FL area.

Love your Dad's Gaston pose!:rotfl2:

My excitement would be for how close to AoA you'll be! Check out the grounds there, it's amazing!

SPOILER ALERT.

Sarah's trip report for Friday has only gone through about 10 AM so far. It is amazing how much you can do before noon when the park opens at 7 AM, even during a busy time of year. And, by the Friday after Easter the crowd is usually starting to thin out a little.

There is still a lot of day left, and there are several more places to visit after we leave the MK.

Oh, I should add that I don't mind Sarah posting the picture in front of the Gaston statue. It goes well with the one she took of me in front of the Rocky statue at the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Aww.

Great update :)

New Fantasyland is just so awesome! I loved everything about it!

The picture of your dad is adorable! Looks like you two were having a great time :goodvibes

Thanks! Me too. It was absolutely amazing. So excited to see it again in 12 days!

We definitely were having fun!

Great character meets!! Great pictures!!

That is a great picture of your dad! It's awesome to have fun in Disney!!

Thank you!

Definitely looking forward to meeting Merida in the future (hopefully when she inevitably moves from her current locale and is hopefully a fastpass-able princess). She's the last of the princesses for me.

I loved finned Ariel as well. So much better in my opinion. I mean all the princesses have legs, so this is totally unique.

Oooooh isn't LeFou's Brew totally fantastic??? I LOVED it. And you're right, soooooo good on a hot day. I want one. Now!

Haha, LOVED your dad's pose. That's awesome!

I am going to have to make it a goal to meet some of the older princesses. I've met the more recent ones (Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida) but can't remember the last time I met Cinderella or Snow White.

Yeah, she was fun to meet. Though I did enjoy a couple years ago when she was doing meet and greets with Prince Eric. See, I wish they'd have more of the princes doing meets. :cloud9:

It is so good! I can't wait to get one on our trip!

Glad you enjoyed my dad's Gaston pose.

I cant wait to see the new fantasyland :goodvibes

You are going to love it!

Continuing on my catch up journey!:lmao:

Yay!

I feel the same way about AK, it is a very restful feeling when entering. Like you are entering a jungle, and you look everywhere at once.

Yes, I just love that feeling when you enter. Can't wait to be there in just a few short days.

Love the safari pictures! I swear our lion views are always hit or miss. We've not seen the baby elephants either, but a friend of mine did on her trip and they were playing and splashing around. She got some great photos!

Thank you! More often than not we don't see them. We were lucky that time. Aww, baby elephant pictures?! Awesome!

EE in the dark would be awesome!

Yes it would! Hopefully some day I'll get to experience it at night.

Kadence has gotten more interested in Pin Trading, to the point of trying really hard to trade to complete a set!

That's cool! Pin trading is really fun.

Wishes videos was great! When I win the lotto, I know right where getting my first room!:thumbsup2

Glad you enjoyed the video. That view was something else. It is still amazing to think we got to see that out our window for a few nights. I miss it.

DHS, and TSM, is there any other place to run to in the morning! I like your breakfast choice!

haha, thanks. It is amazing how quickly you get hungry when you're up early.

Nice character meets!

Thank you. :)

We had a great meet with Ralph and Vanellope, great interaction from both!

That's awesome you had a great meet with them!

We are going to try Pizza planet this time around, and I'm glad to hear it was good.

Oooh, Pizza Planet is my favorite QS place at the Studios. My only complaint is I wish it was more like Pizza Planet in the movie. haha

I like the TOT pictures when you played with the settings, made it look antique!

Yeah! That's why I chose those settings-I thought they kind of fit with the theming there.

Gotta pose by the Milwaukee sign, Wisconsin Represent!!::yes:: (side note, we just went to the Packer first training camp on Friday, and it was awesome! Clay Matthews was like 20 feet from us ...stretching! and Jordy Nelson and James Jones was playing catch 10 feet in front of us!)

Yup, gotta represent Milwaukee/Wisconsin! Ahhh that is so awesome you went to training camp! We are hoping to go to a game this year but tickets are so expensive. :(

I'm really enjoying your Epcot day! I'm sad that Test Track has changed, We haven't ridden the new version yet, but I've heard the same thing you said about it a couple times now. TT was Kadence favorite ride, and I hope she's not disappointed. :sad2:

Yeah, the ride itself is still pretty much the same but the new theming is just weird in my opinion. I wish they would've kept it how it was. Oh well. Maybe I'll get used to it, and hopefully Kadence still loves it.

Soarin deserves applause! It's my favorite flight!;)

It definitely deserves it! I was listening to the soundtrack the other day and even just hearing that made me so happy. :goodvibes

Even with the clouds, the flowers are beautiful! I love all the Topiaries! The must work on those for a long time to get them that perfect.

I love them too. I will be so sad when I don't get to go for spring break (I'll probably miss it next year since I have these two trips coming up).

I am jealous of your sister, LOL going to the parks whenever, enjoy a nice Disney meal whenever! How cool she got her PI!

I know, right?! A couple of weeks ago she got to go to the Animal Kingdom to test out the Wilderness Explorers for some product knowledge training or whatever for work! How nice must that be?!

As for POP, I think you'll enjoy the grounds and food court. The room is basic, we spend all of our time in the parks, so just a place to sleep and get ready.
My excitement would be for how close to AoA you'll be! Check out the grounds there, it's amazing!

I have a feeling we will head over to Art of Animation at some point...

Sorry for you Photo-bucket issues, I have a pro-account, but still I hate the way they changed everything. I think my next TR, I will change to Flicker as well.

Yeah, that is partly why I wanted to change to a different site. I'm surprised I kept using it for as long as I did. I have NEVER had issues with bandwidth so I don't know why that started happening all of a sudden. Unless I just had that many more pictures from this trip. :confused3

I would so be at that 7am EMH!!! I love that perk, and I'm glad not so many people take advantage of it!:thumbsup2

Love your Dad's Gaston pose!:rotfl2:

haha, I know. As long as we keep having good luck and are able to do so many things so quickly, we'll keep going!

Isn't that show cute? Loved it.

I agree. I can't wait to see what the mine train will look like!

haha, thanks. It is pretty awesome.

I am enjoying your trip report so much.

Aww, thank you!

Yes, we sure did cover a lot of ground that day. Lots of fun stuff!

So in case anybody is wondering, here is that Rocky statue picture my dad was talking about to go with his Gaston statue picture. :rotfl:

Hi DIS friends! Sorry it's been a while since my last update. I can't believe it's already August! I have lots of exciting news to share!

First of all, my trip to visit Emma is right around the corner now that it's August! AHHHH! Only 12 days to go! It is so crazy I get to go back after just having been there in April. I figured out a while ago that this is going to be my 21st visit to Disney World, so I think I am going to celebrate that by getting a "1st Visit" button and just putting a giant "2" in front of it (free souvenirs are always good, right?).

Second, kind of going along with the trip, is that I received a letter in the mail last weekend to participate in the testing for MyMagic+ (the whole wristband/fastpass+ thingy). Now, I'm going to sound like a hypocrite because I said how it just seemed really stupid but now that I got that letter, I am kind of intrigued. Plus, it would be kind of cool to test it out and see how it works. So I ordered the magic bands yesterday. Supposedly it only takes a couple of days to receive them so maybe they'll come tomorrow.

And finally, the biggest news, is that I GOT A TEACHING JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! :dance3: I interviewed last Tuesday and was offered a position on Thursday! I am looking forward to finally having my own classroom AND that I get to stay at the school I worked at last year. So if this trip report drags on even longer, that's why. :) Needless to say, between the trip and getting ready for school to start, this next month is going to FLY by. Oh yeah, and you can bet I'll also be asking for an "I'm Celebrating" button when we go to WDW! :yay:

Now...to finish up our morning at the Magic Kingdom...(sorry, this will be a short update).

Friday, April 5, 2013 cont'd (part 3)

After finishing up my delicious Lefou's Brew and chocolate croissant, we continued on to the rest of Fantasyland. It had been cloudy pretty much all morning and there was some light rain too, but it was finally starting to clear up!

We stopped at one of the classic Magic Kingdom attractions, it's a small world! How can anyone not love something that is so classic Disney?!

These hula girls are always my favorite.

I posted this picture on Instagram (PS, if you want to follow me my username is mugirl0307).

As we were walking around after the ride, I noticed that the Fairy Godmother was outside Cinderella Castle greeting guests! I honestly don't think I have ever met the Fairy Godmother so of course we had to stop there!

Dad wanted a picture too.

Then we headed over to Tomorrowland for a nice relaxing ride on the People Mover.

Dad then asked if there was anything else I wanted to do, and for some strange reason I had the brilliant idea to do Stitch's Great Escape. Yes, I don't know why either. I hadn't seen it in a while and it's kind of fun to do those lesser attractions once in a while. But after doing it, I now know why we don't do it that often. It is just weird! :confused3 But whatever.

I guess that's really all we did at the Magic Kingdom. We decided to hold off on lunch because the plan was to go to Downtown Disney to see if we could find Emma at work. And a trip to DTD means Earl of Sandwich for lunch!

I think we took the bus to Saratoga Springs to get to Downtown Disney. The Iron Man-o-rail went by while we were waiting!

up next: Shopping and meeting Emma at World of Disney!

Oh my goodness the good news is just piling up over there. That all such great stuff Sarah!! :woohoo:

Ooh Fairy Godmother is another I need to add to my character bucket list!

Haha, boy that poor Stitch's Great Escape sure does get a lot of hate. I remember when it was Alien Encounter. Now THERE was some scary stuff. I really wish that one was still around. Not at Magic Kingdom since it didn't belong there, but maybe DHS or Epcot would have been cool. Ahh memories.

This is also our 21st visit. I like the idea of putting a 2 in front of 1st visit.:rotfl: Congrats on the new job.

Congrats on the new job!! Yahoo!!

Ya I am not a fan of the Stitch ride either. Not fun or even scary, you are right just weird. Even my son didn't like it and he loves those kinds of rides.

The fairy God Mother, how cool! Great pictures!

How exciting that you are going back so soon! For the first time ever I actually have two Disney trips scheduled next year :banana::banana: One in January and one in November!

I'm so excited that you got a teaching job! Let's break out the celebration emotes :cool1::thumbsup2:worship::banana::woohoo::yay::cheer2: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Congrats on your teaching job!! I hope this year in your own classroom goes smoothly & have lots of fun!

I love it's a small world! I agree with you, it's too classic to hate. Though my father says it's his version of hell. I really want to disown him for that but then I remember he went on with us anyway.

The fairy godmother! She looks very nice. She's a fun character.

Can't wait to hear about shopping! Yay!

While we wait for Sarah's next update, which may include some news about her upcoming trip (one that won't include me), I have something to share myself.

I don't know if I should be excited or embarrassed to report that I just booked reservations for a trip that will mean that I will be visiting WDW five times in calendar year 2013. If you've been following Sarah's reports, you would know that in addition to the trip in this report (which for me lasted another 6 days after Sarah left to go home and back to work) Sarah's Mom and I also went to Florida in January to help Emma get moved in for her second DCP, and then drove down in June to help her move into an apartment as she started her professional internship. I also plan to accompany Sarah on her Christmas trip this December.

Well, yesterday, Sarah's Mom saw the menus for the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and announced that she would like to go for a couple of days to visit Emma and enjoy the FWF without dealing with having to move anyone in and out of an apartment. So, we are planning a trip for November 5-8. Because we already have annual passes, can take advantage of Emma's cast member discount to get a cheap room at a value resort (we're thinking Pop Century), and Southwest's fares from Milwaukee to Orlando are pretty reasonable, it will really be a pretty cheap trip (less than just 2 nights in a hotel at some places). Plus, we can use our car (the one Emma is using) to get around the resort because our two full days are a Wednesday and Thursday which, not coincidentally, are Emma's days off.

Now if we can just get lucky like Sarah did and get chosen for a MyMagic+ test.

Finally all caught up!!! Loving this trip report!
Couple questions,
1. Forgive me if I have the wrong TR, i've been reading alot lately!!! But i'm pretty sure this is the report with the manatees?? If so (or maybe someone will know the answer) where can you see the manatees?!?!
2. When do you tell people it's your first Disney trip? Also, when do you tell them you're celebrating something?
3. Lastly, can anyone take pictures with characters?? Or do you have to have a photopass? Will the CM take your pictures with the characters??

Can't wait until the next update!!

The manatees are in The Seas pavilion in Future World in Epcot.

When you check in to a Disney resort, you can let them know what buttons you'd like to have. If you are staying off property, then just go to Guest Sevices in any park or Downtown Disney to get your pins. Also, you can go online to your Disney account and let them know these things. When you make an ADR online, you have the option of telling them you are celebrating something.

Any one can get their pics with the characters and yes, if you don't have PP a CM will use your camera to get a pic. But don't be surprised if the PP photographer takes a picture with their camers too and then gives you PP card I'm sure they drum up a lot of extra saled this way.

Sarah CONGRATULATIONS on your teaching position! How exciting!! You are certainly excused if you need to post fewer and far between.... Seeing as how your next trip is in only 11 days now! We'll be there soon after you.

We received the letter from Disney as well - after I ordered our Magic Bands and did our Fast Pass + selections. In fact I was getting a UPS missed delivery notice on my door and couldn't imagine what Disney was trying to send me. We had already received our two sets of Magic Bands within 2 days or ordering online - it was quick. But the UPS delivery was the marketing material for the Magic Bands. And since we have a split stay with 2 of the resorts that are participating they sent two different letters via UPS. They really want people to pilot this if they are spending that type of money to get the message out!

Back to your updates....

Stitch's Escape is good every few trips BUT Carousel of Progress is a MUST DO for us!

And you definitely have your dining priorities right in DTD - Earl of Sandwich is a favorite!

Congratulations on your teaching job! That is awesome. You sure do have a lot to celebrate on your upcoming trip and testing out the bands sounds like a lot of fun actually!
