"Animals are Great! Animals are Cool! You know what I think? Animals Rule!"
Playhouse Disney's "Stanley" likes animals so much that it's only fitting that he would hang out at DAK!
Stanley is available for Meet and Greets daily in the Rafiki's Planet Watch section of Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Stanley's pet goldfish, Dennis, is also available for photos.

so very cool! We love Stanley.

Ok, stupid Question>>>>
where is the Rafiki's Planet Watch section of DAK? (is that the area that you reach on that train? I thougth that was conservation station?)

- lori

They are one and the same. Conservation Station got renamed to Rafiki's Planet Watch a while ago.

Great news!! Do you have any scoops for us re: new baby elephant? How long yet?

Hope he is still there is August.
My 2 year old DS will be thrilled!
I sounds like we will be seeing a lot more characters than we did during our 2001 trip.

Thanks Safari Steve - Just told DD7 and DS5 and they are thrilled. Looking forward to meeting Stanley and Dennis in May

As far as I know, Stanley has been very popular during his meeting sessions, so he will probably be around for a long while. I spoke with a Character Greeter today and he said that Stanley usually greets in the mornings. Check with Guest Relations at the park entrance before you make the trek all the way out to Rafiki's Planet Watch. (they've added some live animal discussions both inside and outside the building since the last time I was there, so those are also a good reason to visit).

Steve - Thanks again! Our kids love AK, but haven't been to Rafiki's. We'll definately check it out this trip. :)

Safari Steve ~ Your news just made my DS's day! He is a huge Stanley/Dennis fan. He can't wait till our trip and wanted to know if we could go tomorrow.LOL Hopefully they will still be there in Nov./Dec.
Again, thanks for the news!:D

Steve, you always keep us up to date with the fun stuff happening at WDW. I really appreciate your contribution to the DIS :)

This is great info. Did you post it on the Disney for Families board too?

we met stanley this past friday inside the conservation station at about 11:00am. we had been to AK several times before, but, had overlooked this area of the park for some reason. The train ride and conservation station were a pleasant surprise. You get a little glimpse of the "backstage homes" of many of the animals and the CM's inside the station are extremely helpful and informative. The station will be a mainstay for us upon future visits. Very fun and educational as well. BTW, we also saw rafiki and pocahontas while visiting the station friday.

I heard the baby elephant died. Thanks Steve for the info.
