Oh no! I'm sorry that happened. :( I hope everything is okay with Chloe now!

Wishing you a wonderful trip! :wizard:

And I hope y'all have a magical trip! pixiedust:

Thank you all so very much!

Chloe is doing a lot better... My grandma is staying at our house while we are away to watch her. The doctor said that she will be in pain for at most one week. The dog bite broke the skin but she is safe from any diseases and infections because of the vaccinations that she has had. My grandma has noticed that she has been very tired but that is completely understandable.

We were very lucky that the injury was not more serious. We definitely feel more comfortable with a family member watching her.

Last night, we finished the non- Disney part of our trip and checked-in at the Contemporary Resort!! :yay:

So far we are having a fantastic time! Thanks again for all of you sweet and warm wishes! I better get a move on with this TR!!

Hello there everyone! Happy belated Mother's Day to all of the fantastic moms on here! We are officially back from the happiest place on earth.

We had a fantastic time! In fact, it was probably one of my favorite vacations to Disney thus far! We ate tons of food, had many surprises, a bundle of fun, and loads of pixie dust!

I can't wait to tell about it but before I start, lets get this TR rolling!
-----------------------------------------------------------------

So, I just got into HS and it was about 10:20. I was a bit late for the famous mad dash but I was still going to have my own little dash! haha

IMGP1728-1.jpg

I made my way towards the big hat...

IMGP1729-1.jpg

Excited as could be because I was finally in Disney!

IMGP1732-1.jpg

I finally made my way to Toy Story Mania to grab a fastpass. Since it was already past 10:30 at this point the wait was 70 minutes. I was able to get a fastpass and I was on my way!

IMGP1734.jpg

At this point, I had once place in mind. Where was that you ask?!?

IMGP1736.jpg

The American Idol Experience, of course!

I went to an arts middle school and high school. It is just like any other school but instead of taking electives we took classes for our major and you had to audition to get in. I majored in musical theatre. I have been singing and acting for as long as I can remember!

I absolutely love it! I never had a desire to audition for the actual American Idol but I thought it would be a fun experience.

The CM at the entrance handed me a song list and I made my way to the entrance.

As I was waiting, I met this other woman who was auditioning. She said that she auditioned for the actual TV show 5 times and this is her second time auditioning at Disney World this trip (they were there for 2 weeks).

Thats dedication! I was then let in to the inside waiting area. We watched a short video of Ryan Seacrest explaining the rules and wishing us luck!

I was then let into one of the small audition rooms. The lady I had was very sweet. They give you an American Idol pin before you even start singing that shows that you were brave enough to audition.

She asked me a couple of questions like how long have you been singing, do you have any experience, tell me a little bit about yourself.

After I talked to her for a few minutes, she asked what I was planning on singing. At this point, I was able to sing whatever song I wanted to (it didn't have to be on the list).

I decided to sing Breakeven by The Script. She seemed to really like my voice. She said that my voice had a very nice tone and quality to it and could hear my musical theatre training. They were looking for voices that were more rock sounding (which I am definitely not!). If I would have gotten there earlier or came on another day she said that I would have made it. Oh well!

I wasn't expecting to get in but thought that it was a really fun experience.

IMGP1738.jpg

I took the obligatory picture in front of the American Idol sign and made my way over to the animation building.

IMGP1748.jpg

I have been to the animation building before but it was my first time trying the art class.

I just missed a class so I waited about 20 minutes for the next one. The waiting area really fills up quickly!

There was a TV in the waiting area where you were supposed to guess which characters were being drawn. I was very impressed with my character guessing abilities! Who am I kidding.... I have seen every disney movie so many times that it would be sad if I couldn't figure it out!

IMGP1749-1.jpg

I found a desk and patiently waited for the class to begin.

The teacher was a sweet woman. She wanted to do her best to not have anyone repeat a character that they have already done.

She went through all of the characters that she knew how to draw and we finally came up with one.

We began drawing but she was going VERY fast. I could barely keep up. However, they did make the directions and steps easy enough so everyone was able to understand and draw the character.

At the end, they brought up some kids and they showed everyone their masterpiece!

photo-5.jpg

Here is my finished product! As you can see, the character we drew was Buzz! I was pretty proud of myself considering the fact that I have no artistic ability when it comes to drawing!

I made my way to gift shop once the class was over.

IMGP1750.jpg

I love this!! Ariel is one of my top three favorite princesses!

They had so many cute painting!

IMGP1752.jpg

How precious! Hidden mickey alert!

I took literally three steps outside the gift shop and it started pouring! I made a mad dash to the Little Mermaid area to figure out my plan of attack.

The rain was not letting up so I decided to head to The Great Movie Ride. I ran from awning to awning and managed to get there without getting too wet.

IMGP1753.jpg

It looks like I wasn't the only one with this idea! It didn't matter. I was just happy to be inside.

IMGP1755.jpg

Lights, Camera, Action!

IMGP1756.jpg

Let our journey begin!

dsc0303i-1.jpg

Chim chiminey, chim chiminey, Chim chim cher-ee!

IMGP1761-1.jpg

Oh no!! hehe.... Everytime I have gone of this ride, I have always gotten the gangster. However, this time I finally got the cowboy. I think I like the gangster a little better or at least I like it better than the guy that I got.

Soon our cowboy was tempted to take a precious jewel and in a matter of seconds our lovely tour guide returned to our vehicle and the tour continued.

We passed the lovely city of Oz and were instructed to follow the yellow brick road!

Our tour was coming to an end and we were approaching the big movie screen.

One of my many Disney traditions occurs right at this point on the Movie Ride.

For as long as I can remember, I have always counted the number of movies that I have seen in the movie montage.

This trip, I believe I have seen 37 of the movies! Never record! haha

I got outside and was happy to see that the rain had stopped! (:

Awesome that you came so close to being in the American Idol Experience! Good job!

Hahah aww your Buzz drawing is so cute!

ARIEL IS MY FAVORITE! Omg I want that figure at the animation store!!!

What a great start to your day at the Studios. Congrats on getting so close at AI; you did great on your drawing. :goodvibes

Welcome Back! So happy to hear that you had a great trip & can't wait to hear all about it!

Sounds like you were having a lot of fun at DHS! You're so brave trying out for American Idol. I could never do anything like that....even if I did have an ounce of talent (which I don't). :lmao:

I really want to take the animation class one of these days. On the Explore Disneyland app for the iPad, they have a little tutorial for drawing Mickey, Minnie, Donald & Goofy. I'm slowly getting better at it.

So glad the rain stopped! Hope it stayed away! :goodvibes

Thank you! I can't wait to tell you about the trip! It will definitely be full of pictures... I went through 2.5 memory cards! haha

hehe... I didn't know what to expect when it came to the audition but they were very friendly and sweet!

The class was a ton of fun and would totally recommend doing it! Plus, it is a nice way to get out of the Florida heat if you are going during one of the hotter months! That app sounds like a lot of fun! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for writing this TR! I am totally enjoying it! Keep it comming...also glad to hear Chloe is going to be ok!

Off to a great start! Looking forward to what's next :D

Thanks you and thanks for joining in! :goodvibes

After a tour through the movies, it was time to go on a thrill ride with some music!

I made my way to RNR.

IMGP1795-1.jpg

They have a single rider line but it is not always open. When I got to RNR, with my luck, they were not accepting anyone through the single rider line.

The standby was currently 60 minutes (only fastpasses left were after 7pm and I had other plans!) and TOT had a 90 minute wait so I figured I would wait it out.

I was patiently waiting for about 20 minutes and then I saw a group of people go through the single rider line. A CM made his way through the line and as he passed me I asked if they opened the single rider line.

Well, they did! :yay: I made my way back through the line to the single rider entrance!!

IMGP1788-1.jpg

I made my way into G- Force Records!

IMGP1791-1.jpg

I love this wall of beads! haha

I made my way to the front of the line with not that long of a wait. I even got the first row!

I absolutely love this ride! It is so much fun and the initial start is such a rush!

IMGP1794-1.jpg

My lovely ride photo! I definitely screaming throughout the ride... I felt bad for the person sitting next to me but I definitely was not the only one! :)

IMGP1796-1.jpg

I was still very exciting from RNR! I began to make my way to the American Idol Show.

IMGP1797-1.jpg

I made it just in time!

IMGP1798-1.jpg

Wait, you're not Ryan Seacrest!?! haha

IMGP1800-1.jpg

And here are your judges! They were trying to impersonate the actual judges to an extent. I really didn't care for the guy at all... he got many boos from the crowd. The blonde was my favorite as well as the nicest and fairest judge.

IMGP1802-1.jpg

These were our contestants that day. Sorry about head that is in the way. They all had good voices. I really enjoyed the girl on the left and right (although the center one was great as well!).

In the end, I voted for the girl on the left and she won!

I was starting to get hungry. Remember, I haven't had anything to eat since around 6am and it was almost 2pm.

However, I had one thing in mind before lunch! Star Tours!

The wait was only 10 minutes so I figured I might as well!

Once the ride was over, it was definitely time for some lunch!

IMGP1811-1.jpg

I made my way through these streets to the Studio Catering Co.

IMGP1812-1.jpg

I got the Greek Salad and the dressing on the side and water!

IMGP1820-1.jpg

The Greek salad was very nice especially for a CS location! All of the ingredients were very fresh.

The lovely dressing.

IMGP1817-1.jpg

And my bottle of water

IMGP1819-1.jpg

Overview of Studio Catering Co.

Service: All of the CM were very friendly (as expected) but it took a little longer than expected to get my food. 4/5
Food: I really enjoyed my salad. Everything was very fresh and the Greek dressing was very good. 5/5
First Visit: No
Would I Go Again: Yes! I thought it was a very nice meal for a CS.

It was a fun day and the day just got better and better!! :)

I was really happy that the single rider line opened up... definitely nice to not have to wait in the long line! :goodvibes

I am not a huge fan of all of the CS options at HS but the salad was really yummy!

Hey everyone! I just had to share this with you all! I went to Publix yesterday to get some groceries with my mom and I saw the cutest thing!

photo-7-1.jpg

It is a Buzz Lightyear Pillow Pet! It is so precious! Anyways, back to the TR! :goodvibes
------------------------------------------------------------------------
After lunch, it was time to watch the parade. I absolutely love the music for this parade!

Let the Countdown to Fun Begin!

IMGP1823-1.jpg

Mr. Incredible here to save the day!

IMGP1826-1.jpg

Its not that tough to be Flick! Get it... Its Tough to be a Bug.. haha

IMGP1828-1.jpg

The best chef I know!

IMGP1831-1.jpg

IMGP1833-1.jpg

Up, up, and away we go!

IMGP1834-1.jpg

Yeeeehaaaawww! Howdy partner!

IMGP1837-1.jpg

To infinity and beyond!

IMGP1838-1.jpg

I really enjoy this parade. There is so much energy and excitement!

I made my way back to the Animation Building to waste some time before the next Indiana Jones show.

I took the quiz to see which character I am most like. Turns out I am most like Ariel!

IMGP1855-1.jpg

How perfect is that! Ariel is one of my favorite princesses and apparently I am just like her! (:

I passed a cart full of hats and mickey ears that I had to check out.

Little Miss Grumpy!

IMGP1860-1.jpg

My Dad is considered the Grumpy one in the family so I had to take a picture of this for him!

IMGP1862-1.jpg

It was time to see Mr. Indiana Jones. I got a great seat... front and center.

The show began and the volunteers were chosen. I really wanted to be one of them but wasn't chosen. However, this was for the best.

The volunteers were hilarious... especially the guy in the Hawaiian style Disney shirt! (:

IMGP1868-1.jpg

Indiana is such a brave guy!

IMGP1869-1.jpg

At this point, the director came out and said that they were going to have to cut the show short due to the incoming thunder storm. So, we all exited and right when I got outside it started POURING!

Today I was not having much luck when it came to avoiding the rain. I ran into the closest gift shop (which was packed) and purchased a lovely Disney poncho. While it is not very fashionable, at least I will stay somewhat dry.

Up Next:
Toy Story Mania
Surprise Encounter

Great update! I love the Studio parade pictures; we've not seen the parade there in probably ten years, so it was fun to see.

You'll be interested to know that for our September trip, we are back at OKW. But I have a surprise 60th birthday trip planned for my DH in early December (he's always wanted to see the Christmas decorations and lights), and we're going "HOME" to CSR. :goodvibes

Great pictures! :thumbsup2

I really like that parade! I think it's fun & I like that it seems to go quick.

I like that Grumpy hat picture! I need to buy that hat for my DH.

Too bad the Indiana show got cut short & that you got poured on. :sad2:

Hope the weather cleared up for you! :goodvibes
