YOLO Part Cruise: Land, Sea and Halloween! Updatedx2 4/27 TRIP VIDEO

I quite like waking up early when going on holiday. I think it stems from being a child and those long, pre dawn car journeys. I'm an education student also! However, my course isn't practical, its just theory at the moment *sigh*. I love love love Brittany's shoes!

boy do i know about no sleep. i got off work saturday morning, got about three hours sleep. then packing, loading, and last minute running around. we left alabam at midnight saturday night/sunday morning. after a ten hour drive we hit the world. ten hours? us old farts have to stop and use the pot (that's the bathroom for you city slickers) you know. and then we hit the magic kingdom. ah, what a life! ready for episode two.

YEAH .. so excited I found your trip report. We were so excited when we had the chance to meet your sister, Alicia, last year. Invited her to dinner with us at the Garden Grill and stayed in touch thru FB and Twitter since then. Bummed that our paths didn't cross this past trip to FL ..

We were getting off the Dream the day you guys were getting on.

Can't wait to read all about your adventures!! popcorn::

So glad I found your TR! I'm looking forward to Disney cruisin' tips. If DW will stop asking how much life insurance I have every time we discuss a cruise, we will take one next year!! :rotfl:

Gotta love the early morning last minute packing hardly got any sleep the night before chaos of a leaving for Disney World morning!!!

Brittany's shoes are perfection. Seriously, I know I say this to you all the time, but you are SO TALENTED!

That's really sweet that someone changed seats so you and Brittany could sit together.

Can't wait to read about your Disney adventures!

No sleeping in Disney more like no sleeping the night before you leave for disney!
Thank you so much! Those are probably one of my favorite pairs I ever made so far.

Yay Disney World!!!
Glad that someone was able to switch so you and Brittany could sit together!!
Awe man, I WISH it would only take me the length of Wreck it Ralph to get to Florida! Hahah, I'd have to watch it like, four times!

That would be a lot of time watching Wreck it ralph. But I still probably wouldn't get sick of it.

You have the most adorable gma ever! She looks just like a little kid thrilled to go to Disney! And Princess treatment in the airport I love it!

Brittany's shoes are SO amazing, I wish I was that talented, they look great!

Thank you! I love my Gma so much, she is so precious!
Again thank you so much!

I love waking up early also, it is the only time when I am ok with waking up in the wee hours of the morning. Oh yes I had those classes where if just theories and theorists. It gets better though!

SOOO excited to hear about this trip!! I've been waiting for you to post!

YAY! WELCOME!!!!

It sounds like you had a busy traveling morning as well! But it is all worth it once you get onto Disney property and to your first park of the trip!

YEAH .. so excited I found your trip report. We were so excited when we had the chance to meet your sister, Alicia, last year. Invited her to dinner with us at the Garden Grill and stayed in touch thru FB and Twitter since then. Bummed that our paths didn't cross this past trip to FL ..

Welcome!!!
I have heard how wonderful you are and how much she enjoyed that dinner. I am going to assume that you were the one she told us about when we were leaving for the dream. I hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did!

So glad I found your TR! I'm looking forward to Disney cruisin' tips. If DW will stop asking how much life insurance I have every time we discuss a cruise, we will take one next year!! :rotfl:

Welcome along! You must take a cruise, I thought I wouldn't like it as much as I did. Now I have cruise depression.

Same. For classes, not so much. Especially when I have to get up at 5:30am just for an hour. That's good to hear.

Welcome Home
There were so many people at the airport&welcome to Orlando on a Saturday morning! Once finding our way to the B side it was time for us to get onto that wonderful Magical Express.

The exciting part of this is that since we were staying at Pop Century we got to test out the Magic bands and now you scan your band in order to get onto the ME. Pretty fancy!
Gma was loving the whole taping Mickey to Mickey, as well as Pa who wouldnt let anyone else in his room tap their band.

Once it was time to board I noticed that the cruise line bus heading to Port Canaveral was parked right next to us. TOMORROW WE WOULD BE MAKING OUR WAY TO PORT CANAVERAL!!!

At 10:50 we were leaving MCO and making our way over to Pop Century.

When Daddy Walt comes on the screen you know you are almost home

WELCOME HOME!!!!

The first stop was at AoA and I was crying on the inside. That resort is PERFECT and I miss the nemo suite so much. Once we dropped the lucky guests staying at AoA next stop was Pop. Before we got off the bus Alicia texted me saying that my Magic Band wasnt working and that I would have to go to the front desk to get it checked out.
Once entering Pop we found Alicia hanging out in the lobby waiting for us. She was kind enough to check us in, so all we had to do was find our room. We got a preferred room, which meant we would be staying in the 60s section.

We literally walked all the way around the building because we thought we would be on the backside of the building when we were actually facing the pool. A nice little workout.
Once we found our rooms it was time to check and see if my magic band was working. It opened the door so I assumed that it worked and I never went to see a CM about it. We dropped off our carry-ons and got our stuff we needed for the parks. One of them being our special celebration buttons!

Before we headed to any park we decided to go get our mugs.

WELCOME TO POP!

We were all very happy to find out that Pop has new mugs, my household has so many refillable mugs before this trip and now we have even more! With the new colors it was a project for everyone to pick out what color they wanted.

With our mugs in hand it was time to get to our first park of the trip. With the Food and Wine festival on our minds it was time for some Epcot!

Once we arrived to Epcot we hopped off that bus a booked it to the entrance. With all our excitement we forgot that Gma isnt as quick at us so we had to remember to slow it down. So whats a better way to stop in our path a take a group photo

Once getting through security we all went our separate ways. Brittany, Andy and I went to go purchase our first ANNUAL PASSES!!! Alicia was kind enough to purchase the exchange passes for us at a CM discounted price, we of course gave her a butt load of money to do so. The CM who helped us out was from Rochester and we quickly noticed that. As he was typing in our information he said Wow you guys dont love far from my house :rotfl:
Our APs were randomly chosen, Brittany got Minnie, Andy got Mickey, and I got Goofy. But really I dont think your could go wrong with any of them. Kc was in line behind us because Alicia was using one of her special CM passes that work all year round no matter if there are black out dates, so he had exchange a printout for a ticket.

While getting our APs, Alicia took Gma, Ma and Pa in with her main gate passes. From there Alicia took Gma to get a scooter because after the walk in we knew she would need one. (I knew this even before our trip but every scooter place we looked at needed a minimum of 2 days and we would only be in the world for 1) This is also the time Gma found a new love for the scooters.

We finally got to use our APs for the first time and once getting into the park I was all about getting a picture of the Food and Wine Sign with Spaceship Earth in the background. But alas Alish ruined it by calling me saying that we better hurry because Gma has a new toy and she is ready to go.

The party dont start till we walk it!

First thing we did was go to guest relations to purchase our Halloween passes for Friday night. While everyone was in line, Brittany and I walked over to mouse gears to see if they have the new princess crowns. We were on a mission so there was no time for browsing. We found out they still have the old crowns with the new dresses. So we walked around and Brittany told me I had to ask a CM, I have found out Disney is the only place where I can talk to random strangers&sorry not sorry.
The CM told us that we could only buy the new crowns online&.boooo!!!!

After crying a bit I called Alish to find out where everyone was. But she wasnt answering and we ended up running into them in Mouse Gears. With everyone together we made our way to the world showcase&F&W HERE WE COME!

Great pictures! I love the buttons especially the UP one. I can't wait to hear about the cruise.

What a wonderful feeling it is walking through the gates for the first time starting off the vacation. Congrats on the Annual Pass. :goofy: That must mean you have more trips in the works.

You take some great photos. It's good to see the whole family together. Looks like you folks are full of life and love. I see Gma has that souped up edition of the WDW scooter. I loved using those magic bands. They saved us a lot of time. We stayed in the sixties section of Pop in 2011 by the lake. Very quiet back there. Waiting for that first planking photo!

AHHHHHHHHHHHH! I've been eagerly waiting for the start of this TR! I haven't been on Twitter in a while either, so when I checked today and saw you mention something about working on the trip video, I knew I had to check DIS to see if this was started yet. I love the "YOLO Part Cruise" title. So creative!

It must have been SO fun to have had small trips with just the 4 of you and then also being able to do a BIG trip like this too especially on a cruise!

Oh gosh that sounds horrible!
Thank you! I actually found a tutorial on youtube to make them.

great update! love all the family pictures!!!

Thank you so much!

It really is, I personally love getting on the motor coach for the first time and hearing the guys voice. There is talk about trips but nothing set in stone as of right now.

Thanks the photos have and will come from 3 iphones and 4 cameras. We loved the magic bands but unfortunately we did not use the whole fastpass plus because with the whole ticket situation.

WELCOME!!!! I've decided to start it early while school isn't killing me. That poor video is never going to get finished I add a little bit each day but this trip we just took a LOT of footage.
Thank Brittany for the title, she created it during class the week before we left and drew me a story on post it notes.
It's crazy to think how our crazy spur of the moment trip in May turned into a lifestyle now for us. This trip has ranked the highest in all the trips and it will be a tough one too beat.

Traveling The World In Search Of Food
Once we arrived at the showcase the first thing that needed to be done was instagram a photo…haters gonna hate

Step 2: get the passport, this little beauty holds all of the food and wine offered at each location. It also has a place for a stamp at each country you buy something from.

Step3: Take a moment to look through the passport, this will help with time so you are not walking around the showcase more than once. It also helps you make a game plan.

Step 4: Make your way around the showcase and be prepared for the Florida heat!
Step 5: Plan out what day you will be going to F&W, I advise you not to go on the first weekend it opens (Unfortunately this was the only time we could)

First stop, Mexico! Pa decided to get the Shrimp Taco with Purple Cabbage. The line was forever long so while Pa waited in line I went to go to my beloved NORVAY!!!

Here I had to get my favorite Norwegian treat. Before coming to Disney Alish told me she would buy me a school bread for painting her shoes….she was still in Mexico when I went to Norway…..so I had to buy myself my own school bread (I also never got a school bread from her)

While I was waiting to purchase my school bread, Pa was enjoying his taco

Andy also enjoyed his choice of snack at Singapore, which (I think) was the Seared Mahi Mahi with Jasmine Rice and “Singa” Sauce (might not be)

While everyone was enjoying their F&W snacks we were still in Norway documenting every moment with the lovely school bread

Once I had the school bread in my hands and found gma the rest of the fam had found their way to Norway where they were waiting for us.

Before we started our trek around the showcase I was the nice granddaughter who share with her Gma. I always talk about my 2 favorite snacks at disney (school bread and dole whip) and Gma said this trip she needs to taste both. So I gave her a bite, she seemed to enjoy it.

Next stop around the world…Poland! Alicia wanted to try the perogies. While she waited in line me, Ma, Gma and Brittany walked over to America to get Gma her snack. At this point I was melting! It was so warm outside, luckily there was a nice breeze.
Once we reached America we told Gma to park in the shade, Brittany and me waited in the long line because we are Gma’s favorites. While in the forever long line I took that moment to do some instgraming and update my trip notes.

Throughout the wait Brittany was indecisive about what she wanted to get. But once we got to the cash register she decided to go with the lobster roll. So that would make a total of 2 lobster rolls at this stop.

Step 6: Get Gma the snack she was looking forward to the most! If you like lobster this is probably one of the best dining plan snack options costing $7.50. A good bang for your buck!

Next to the chasier there was a pot labeled “Potato” and Brittany was very surprised that there was actually a potato growing in the pot….awkward

With the lobster rolls in hand and a stamp in the passport it was time to leave the populated area.

We found everyone hanging out under a tree in front of American Adventure. There Alicia and Ma enjoyed their Kielbasa and Potato Pierogie with Caramelized Onions and Sour Cream from Poland.

And kiss enjoyed his Zapiekanki (Toasted Mushroom, Caramelized Onion and Cheese Bread with House-made Ketchup) from Poland as well.

Step 7: Take photos with your food!

Before Gma could enjoy her snack I made her take a photo with Brittany with their lobster rolls

With snacks in our bellies it was time to find a nice place to cool off. What better way to do that than in Club ‘Merica!

I think it's so cute how close you are to your Gma and it seems that Brittany is too!

Hi Sam! I am so happy to see this report. I was reading your last one when it started but somehow didn't read it for a long time until I found it again a couple weeks ago. I read it so quickly and then went back and read your sister's old reports too. I LOVE THE WAY YOU GUYS DO DISNEY. You guys are so funny! I seriously never read TRs that much anymore but yours are addicting and got me even more excited for my upcoming trip which I didn't think was possible. (: That time you guys went to Fort Wilderness for the campfire totally reminded me of how much I want to go there, so I added it to our trip & I'm going there in a couple weeks. SO EXCITED!

Brittany's shoes are AMAZING. You are ridiculously talented.

The food looks SO GOOD. F&W is one of my favorite things in all of Disney and I can't wait to be there again!! :hyper:

p.s. I hope we will be seeing some "Be that statue" pics hahaha
