YIKES- What have I done?

Ok, my kids fall break is 2 weeks in October. I just read a post that Disney has a crowd calendar. The week we are visiting is a busy week? Can this be true? I thought that we were going during a middle of the road busy-wise. YIKES!!! Do I need to reconsider?!!!!!

Honestly, isn't it always a busy week?

You should be fine. There aren't usually any major breaks going on then from school. It should be just typical, but probably not particularly bad.

I have no idea why, but the second week of October was actually way busier than the last week of February.

How about the third week in October vs. the first full week in January? Anyone have any thoughts on which will be busier?

Our only choices were next March/April during spring break or this October during fall break. The travel book I had said you should try and avoid spring break but didn't say October was a bad time so we went with October. I guess fall breaks are becoming more and more popular so maybe October is getting as busy as spring break. October also has the not so scarry halloween thing going on which may draw in more crowds.

That week is also generally the Cdn Thanksgiving and most schools have the preceding Friday off school as well. Therefore not as much school is missed.

Columbus Day....

I was there last year at this time and will be again this year, it was fine, we aren't talking easter or summer crowds, get there at opening and have a plan you'll be fine, the only day that was bad was Columbus day itself. Blizard Beach was fine in the morning but MK in the afternoon was a zoo.

Minnesota has their Education Association conference/break the middle of October, depending on the school district they usually have 1/2 day or no school on Wednesday, then off on Thurs/Fri (this year it's the 15th-17th). Trying to get a plane ticket out of here to anywhere in Florida is a nightmare for that entire week. Of course, that's when we're going next year .

That being said, most of the times I have been there has been in October, and it's never been overwhelmingly busy.

that calendar is interesting. I personally would invest in a 2006 or 2007 (not sure if it is out yet) Unofficial Guide to Disney World instead and look at their crowd level suggestions.
