anyone else get that feeling? Im not putting down the religion at all, just that is sounds so eerie, maybe it's knowing that the war is inprogress, I dont know but I have to change the station when I hear it. mae

YES it is eerie. It was done in 91 and it gave me the creeps then as DH was there. He said they heard it quite a bit from the Saudi's too. Anyway, I have to change the channel when that comes one-puts me back to 91. Everything on the news though is flashing me back! It is an unnerving sound to me, reminds me of the personal aspects of war.

I'm not sure what you are talking about... could you explain it more or give me a link

According to what I heard on TV, Muslims are called to prayer 5 times a day. There is a chant/song that is broadcast from the mosque. It was so eerie yesterday when it started at 5:30 am, Iraqi time. They had just shown the city after the bombing, and this haunting sound comes over the town--I can't decribe the sound, but it was really eerie to hear.

This morning I heard a news reporter say that when the call to prayer started, they all started to run for cover thinking at first it was an air raid siren! It does sound like it at first.
