Well its now or never, as mentioned i had offer to rent off previous cancelled villa owners, I am taking the plunge and renting the original villa at Lindfields, so i can pick any two weeks in JAN 2006. So any recommendations, the start or finnish, what will weather, crowds etc be like, and what is Martin Luther King day, as this falls on the 16th jan in 2006. Any advice or suggestions most gratefully received. Big thanks ali.

It does get busier for MLK day and the weekend before, plus the Marathon is usually during the first half of January. Apart from this it's never too crowded in January (though to me the Magic Kingdom ALWAYS seems crowded!!)

The temperature can vary tremendously, though it doesn't rain a lot. Best packing clothes you can layer. At least it never gets too hot, it's usually just pleasant.

On the whole it's a good time to go, and I would suggest the last two weeks of Jan, rather than the first two. Having said that, it might be worth looking at flight prices for next Jan, just to see if there's much difference.

We went on the 20th Jan for 2 weeks in 2001 and the weather was changeable to say the least!

When we got up in the morning there was steam coming from the swimming pool and we had frost yes I did say frost on the car outside.

One day we went to watch Shamu and it was so cold! DH and I had our puffa coats on and DM and DD were drinking hot chocolate constantley!! ha ha:hyper: then the following day it was Epcot and it was chilly but we sat and watched the China gymnastics display and I got sun burnt!!

It was still brilliant though:teeth: not even bad weather spoils it for me!!::yes::

We were in a similar situation 7 years ago and plumped for the first couple of weeks in January (this was in DL California). Arriving on the 1st Jan, we are so glad we did as Disney Xmas attractions (parades etc.) were in full swing until 12th night. We were amazed at the overnight change to DL having left as the park closed on 12th night with all the Xmas trees, lights and snow scenes etc, and returning early entry the following morning with EVERYTHING having disappeared leaving your more normal MK. Not one reminder of Disney Xmas remained. The crowds diminished too but for me so did just a little of the magic. So for me, given the choice I would go for early January every time.

Whatever you decide, have a wonderful holiday.
