Yeti? What Yeti?

Awww, the poor Yeti isn't feeling well.

DH and I swear the Yeti (not the shadow but the anamatronic one) was not in place at the soft opening (February). I say this because I remember seeing what looked like a GIANT CARDBOARD YETI just about the spot where the anamatronic one should be (in looking at YOU TUBE). It still was a fun ride but when we watched one of the AK or Expedition Everest specials on Discovery, there was the picture of the Yeti on the ride and DH and I looked at each other and said-- WHERE WAS THAT?

Anyway, I hope Yeti is feeling better in November because I would love to see him! :sunny:

Ah, the lighting thing makes this make more sense. When I first read this thread, I was like "He's like three stories tall! How can you miss a giant Yeti??"

It is very easy to miss the Yeti on EE. The Yeti Union is very strong in Florida. He probably stepped out to grab a Yak burger on an extended lunch break. Supervisors are afraid to say anything about it to him. I'm sure you will catch him next time, good luck.

Yeti was present for the soft-open, for sure.

We were there the very first day of the AP previews and rode EE every day of it.

Mr. Yeti was in residence. :thumbsup2

I did read reports after we got back that stated that on some parts of the day, even during the previews, that the Yeti was having some difficulties and the LOW LIGHTING was being used for many of the rides.

My son and I rode EE in May and neither one of us saw the yeti. We did see the shadow but no animatronic one. Maybe it is as ellusive as the "real one". :rotfl:

Yes, the yeti is a very brief, quick sighting toward the ending of the ride. It is a shame, it seems, that they spent so much time and money on this animatronic for such a fleeting appearance.

Yeah right, sure there's a Yeti at AK ... next thing you'll be trying to convince us that Bigfoot, the Lochness Monster and year round free dining are all for real. :rotfl: :rotfl:

:scared1: ....I saw him in Feb. May AND August he was there ALL times, and I am hoping to see him again Oct. 17! My DS will be riding this ride for the first time, and I hope he is there than...Come HOME Yeti, Come home!!! :rolleyes1

Well, I hope Mr. Yeti is better in Nov cause I sure missed him in February (I must be blind but are you sure there wasn't a big cardboard Yeti somewhere on the ride?) but maybe he was a little ill then too.

Since DH is a Union member maybe Mr. Yeti will skip a YAK BURGER Union-authorized lunch break and put in an appearance for us ... though I will not be on the ride at lunchtime ... you will find me at Tusker House chowing down on chocolate cake!

Now I don't feel so bad! We got off after our first ride and DH and DS were raving about how cool the yeti was--ok sorry but I didnt' see it--Dh just laughed at me and said "how could you miss it" I rerode it again and after laughing hysterically I realized that this thing is huge and I really don't know how I missed it--maybe the angle of the car, maybe I closed my eyes and didn't realize it, but once I saw it I couldnt' believe I missed it the first time. :lmao:
