Yeti to Inferno

I started this over on the fansite, and it has gone pretty much nowhere since I posted it so I will try it over here. This is the same trade-up idea that KrazyPete, swimmingneno and many others are doing.

Let me post the current status and trade log.

You know, I never understood these threads. We all start with nothing. When you start VMK you have exactly what they give you. You have to earn it all. So, wouldn't getting Inferno or Stitch or anything like that be exactly the same? You started with nothing and earned your way to that special item.

I don't really understand what you mean by that, because this is simply doing what others have done on VMK by trading up to get beta and rare stuff, but just posted so it will get more offers. I am still doing what every VMK'er has to go through to get their rare stuff, but just through the Dis and VMKF instead. When I am actually on VMK, since I am working on two huge projects, I don't have time to go around and do this. So, when I am off or can't get on, I will check the thread and set up times if anyone wants to trade. I am still earning my way to the Inferno just like anybody else would, except a little slower than I expected.

The reason it's gone nowhere is because the first one was novel, like the red paperclip thing, but all these copycat threads are not novel. They are simply an attempt to get people to intentionally give you one-sided trades until you get something most of us don't have. That's not the same thing as everyone else on VMK. Most trades are fair. The way most people get inferno and other great stuff is either by winning it, by going to parks are getting stitch or quest items, and earning massive amounts of credits to get buyables, and then trading up. Lots of buyables for quest. Lots of quest and retired for rare. Lots of rare for inferno. It's a slow process for those who don't get lucky.

I don't want to hear it. Mods, just close this thing down. Obviously someone is very mad about something else and doesn't want to get my point. If you don't have an opinion that the OP will like, don't post it. Save it for your own head.

I was responding to what you wrote. You seem astounded that people are not responding to what is essentially a request for freebies. KrazyPete's first trade was not fair, either, but at least when he did it, it was novel and funny. All these "me too" threads are nothing but attempts to beg. What would the trade boards become if everyone tried a "me too" thread like this? A waste of time and server capacity. That's what. Try this on certain other VMK fan sites and your thread will be closed by a mod in an instant. Here, the mods will let it go, but don't spend too much time wondering why the thread is going nowhere. Perhaps a few friends and nice people will gift you by making one-sided trades, but that's about it.

Oh my... I didn't want to turn your thread into a battle ground. I really only wanted to know what was up with these. I really have no clue why it's done since we all start from scratch. I figured I was missing something (which is usually the case )

It really isn't nice to flame someone's thread though. To each their own. Even if it's a duplicate of another thread, big deal. Then don't trade with the people.

I hope this didn't discourage you from doing this Adventure. Maybe just let this thread roll off and start a new one.

I completley agree with darkacre. People are trying to to copy Pete's idea and it gets monotinous after a while. And I wouldn't consider dark's opinion mean. Just because you didn't agree with his opinion doesn't mean he was wrong or being "mean."
