Yeti through security

I'm wanting to take a yeti for my water and Starbucks drinks throughout the day. Is a metal travel cup going to cause a slow down at security? Does anyone know if there's a good way for me to approach the metal detectors with a yeti to make things easier on myself and the security team? Thank you!

We didn't have yeti's... we had 2 thermos brand stainless for our kids and a large stainless simple modern for my husband and I. No issues with security.... they were either inside our book bag or on the outside pocket and we were never stopped.

Oh thank you, that's great to hear.

As long as it is empty going through security, you won't have a problem. I have travelled many times with an empty Yeti in my backpack through security.

I bring my Yeti full of ice every time I go to the parks (several times a month). It’s in a ziplock bag with my umbrella and phone charger. I take the ziplock bag out of my backpack before going through security and hold it out in front of me. Security looks at the bag and waves me through.

If you mean park security, they no longer do bag checks. At least they didn't when we were there.

So we may fill it with ice water before we leave our resort? We have always purchased water bottles for the room to take to the parks but are only going for a couple days this year so looking to avoid a grocery order/stop.

We were there 3 weeks ago. My daughter filled her Yeti with ice and water every morning before we left for the parks. She had no issues with it going through security. And like others have said, if you find it does set off the detectors, just hold it out in front of you as you walk through the detectors and you'll be fine. I will say that the detectors seem to behave differently at different parks on different days. Our daughter's epi pen kit set off the detectors some days but not others. So don't panic if after going to parks for 3 days with no problems and then suddenly on day 4, it sets off the detector.

I carry in iced tea every single time I visit the parks (every week or so) in my Yeti. My husband does as well. Never a problem.

I've never had issues with my water bottle....however I did buy Disney Parks Uno game and for some reason that metal card holder sent me to the additional screening section EVERY TIME that day!

This is how we go through and never have any issues. Anything that might set off the detectors (metal water bottle, glasses case, umbrella) hold out in front of you. We did this 15+ times and zero issues.

The only issue I've ever had with my Yeti was on RoTR. One of the guards pulled me for "further interrogation" and took me backstage to a staff bathroom, where I had to dump out my water and ice. It was a weird one-time thing - haven't had a problem since.

I do this at Broadway theaters as well and never get beeped. Other people look at me like I'm crazy, but I'm not the one having to pull to the side and have my bag searched.
