Yet another tipping question...

What do you do, tip on the full bill including tax or on the subtotal?

Me and my father tip on the sub total when going to restaurants. I'm wondering what others do.

Depends on your percentage but generally it is fifteen percent on the subtotal before taxes. If our service is outstanding we leave more than that. Maybe different cultures tip differently.

I believe the standard recommendation is tipping on the sub-total, before taxes.
But I suspect many tip on the entire amount--I find myself doing that most of the time.

I tip on the whole amount. I think the difference is negligible.
