Yet another stroller thread, please forgive me!

This is my first trip to WDW with the kids - DS2 and DS4. Is it better to bring your own stroller or rent one? A double stroller in the park will cost me over $100 for our stay!

Any thoughts from a veteran travler?

I am in need of a new umbrella stroller for my 2.5 yr old (who is off the charts for height) so this thread has been great!. That being said he is my youngest of 3 (6,4,2) and I think bringing your own is better. In my opinion it has been great to have while staying on property too. I wouldn't want to be getting off a bus and then having to carry a child the rest of the way to the room (especially a sleeping one). Now your DS might be quicker than mine but we are still working on the potty training so that means diapers and wipes to lug. Also I am pretty frugal so I love loading my basket up with drinks in the am so that the kiddos can drink to their hearts content. All this said my DH and I came to the conclusion that it is just worth it to purchase another umbrella stroller and not rent so that we have one wherever we are. We used this system last year, but I borrowed a friends who will be needing for a WDW trip herself the same week, so now I have to buy my own.

If you're planning to use it for more than just this trip, I would go with the Mac Volo. They are very nice and you can probably test-drive one at your local Babies-R-Us. I have a Mac Techno and I love it. I still use it for my DD and she'll be 7 next month. She's the kind of kid who goes-goes-goes until she zonks out. We would never see the fireworks if it were not for a stroller.

If you're just going to use it for this trip, I would suggest just a cheap umbrella stroller. I forgot my Mac on my last trip and bought a $19 Kohlcraft umbrella stroller for my 45 lb DD. It handled surprisingly well. While it does not have a basket, it does have a mesh pouch on back that held stuff. Plus, we would hang our bag off the handles.

I love the fact that Maclarens go up to 55 pounds. That's important. That will last us until my son won't stroll anymore. I also bought one vs. renting because we are going to need to to get through the airport and things. Can't wait until it arrives!
