Yet another stroller question...

We are going to DW in 32 days :cool1: and have planned on renting a double stroller for the duration for DD5. {I've read that DD9 might be able to ride in it, don't know if she will, but prefer to have the extra room, for her or for stuff, just in case!} It's more economical and convienient for us to rent it that way instead of paying $$ every morning at the park.

My question {yes, I will get to a point eventually ;) } is this... There is one main stroller pick-up near the entrance of the parks, and how many drop-off first-come first-serve spots in the parks? I'm wondering if it would be worth our while to get a stroller earlier in the day (near the entrance) so we'll have it when we need it without running across the park to find one. What are the odds, really, of getting one at these drop-off locations?

My other question...if you're renting for the week, do you have to 'check' them in? Or just leave them around the thing? I saw in another post someone who rented for the week would give their stroller to a family that's just coming in as they are going out so the family could 'borrow' the use of the stroller for the rest of the evening. I love the idea of making someone's day a little easier. :) :goodvibes

I know I've read a lot about strollers on here, but even my searches didn't give me direct answers. Thanks for your time, DISsers! :)

First I'll tell you what I DON'T know. I know nothing of stroller pick up or drop off places in the parks other than the main place near the front entrance of each park.

On your first day renting, you have to wait in line to pay for your rentals. Decide how many days you want -- there's no such thing as "length of stay" rentals -- the CMs at the stroller rental don't know and don't care how many days you'll be there for, and if you plan any days that don't include parks then you won't need to pay for a rental for that day.

When you pay, you'll be given a strip of rental passes, as well as a receipt. They will stamp that day's date on one of the rental passes This is the last time you'll ever need to get into the "pay" line.

You take your stamped pass to the pick up line, which goes very quickly. In this area you'll get a large card (maybe 5" x 8") that you can write your name on. The CMs always seem to take that part so seriously. Each time, I'd have my kids take turns naming a Disney character, and I'd write that name on the card.

When you're leaving the park, you can and should bring the stroller back to the return area of the shop; you don't check it in, they don't ask your name, the stroller isn't scanned, etc. -- there's no record that you returned a stroller. If you just leave it somewhere or give it to someone else to use, there will be no repercussions on you -- no one will know about it. I'm not suggesting you do this, I'm just illustrating.

If you park hop OR return to that same park that day, you don't need to use another rental pass -- just show them the one with that same day's date stamp on it.

If you end up not using any of the rental passes, they are refundable (with your receipt), but you kind of have to know in advance you won't be using it, since the rental places are inside the parks.

I hope I've answered some of your questions and haven't confused you more in the process.
