Hi all! I've been lurking on this board for quite some time soaking up all the information you all have to offer! I will be traveling to WDW for the first time May 10-17 with my DH, DD-6, and DS-barely 4. Thanks to all of you I have my ADR's in place, have purchased TGM and planned my park days, and have drooled over many food porn pictures. My DH thinks I'm crazy!

My situation is as follows, neither of my kids has used a stroller in several years; however, we will be purchasing one for use by DS at WDW. He soured our trip to the local (small) zoo several months ago when he started whining about his legs hurting after 5 minutes of walking (baby! :rotfl: ) and we don't want to repeat that for our sake as well as his. I've done my research, made a trip to babies r us, and have fallen in love with the Maclaren Triumph. My question is this, should I go ahead and get the Mac Twin Triumph to have an extra seat for DD when she gets tired? Since I'll be forking over the cash for a new stroller (no stroller swaps available for my dates) would it be better to have that seat for her too? Is a twin triumph hard to push with only one child in it? Would we be better with just the single? What would you do??

Thanks! :goodvibes

My only concern would be that it may be hard to push/maneuver and 6 and a 4 yr old in the maclaren vs. disney stroller. The disney ones are easy to manuever whatever the kids size and weight. Not sure bought the double maclaren for kids that are your age. We just did our trip with a maclaren volo for our 3yr old son and it is a great stroller but I would hate for you to buy one just for this trip and then have to rent one for your other child while you're there. I would just rent a double for the week.

Thank you for your quick reply! I understand what you mean about possibly being hard to push. If it makes a difference, my 6 year old only weighs 41 lbs and my 4 year old is about 40, so they are both well under the weight limit of 55 lbs each. I don't know if they would be hard to push together though. Does anyone have experience with 80 lbs in a Maclaren Twin Triumph? Or 40 lbs in one side of a Twin Triumph?

I would rent a double for the week if it wasn't so expensive. I just can't see myself spending that much when I can get a new Twin Triumph for just a little more and then have it to keep (or sell). Plus, the hard plastic rentals look so uncomfortable...

I wouldn't purchase a double maybe to singles that way when you get home if you want to keep one you can the other you can sell. On another not you will not have any trouble w/ the double and your two kiddos in it. I don't recommend renting from disney when there are two different companies that rent strollers for much less. Check out www.orlandostrollerrentals.com the double is 85 plus tax for 4-7 nights the weight limit is 100 pounds and the push will be much better than the mac.

Taking one is a good idea, I affirm your decision! What if they take turns? How often could they possibly NEED it at the same time?

I say just bring one stroller or rent a double through a rental company. We have two kids under five and two Maclarens. We love the strollers but pushing around two seperate strollers is a real pain! A double would be hard to push I think with two older kids. We plan on only taking one this trip and they can share it. The four year old does not want to be in it much anyway but still needs to sit when she is tired. I hope it works out bringing just one though. What if they are both beat by the end of the night? I was looking into the double stroller swaps on the boards but none are available for our trip dates in May. I agree that it's rediculous to pay for an uncomfortable Disney stroller.
