Does everyone think that £78 ($110) a day will be enough for just the two of us? In panic mode today about it...goodness knows why:confused3

i would think so, as long as you dont have really expensive food i would think you will be fine

we usaly budget £100 per day for food for 4 of us,so for 2 you should be ok.now the beer alowance is anouther matter
Paulh

Been 11 times and I would say that is fine for two people.

If you do fancy a meal in say The Rainforest Cafe for example, a moderate priced restaurant, the portions are quite large ,and its fine to order one rack of ribs and fries, then ask for an extra plate and share, we have:thumbsup2

Only got one ADR booked @ R&C - rest will be just the usual burger and fries! Don't drink anything other than sugar filled coke!!

Im struggling with this one too...just the two of us, ive got £71/day

Not eating on site everyday, want to get out and have some bits and bobs, may not have enough pennies for a super meal every evening, but should do ok I hope?

...Hope there is enough pennies in there for some cocktail action :-( - may need to try and get some more pennies ?

I am in a right panic - i don't have any credit cards so whatever i take will have to last! I will probably be a right skint flint until the last day and then with all the money i have saved from not eating i will buy an Ed Hardy t-shirt!!!

I'd be really nervous travelling without my credit cards on such a strict budget. Can you not take out a credit card just to use as a back-up or in case of an emergency? Also, most hotels and car hire firms will require a credit card imprint for security purposes. I've heard of hotels accepting a cash-deposit for this instead, but that would eat up your budget....

Are you driving? there a more than enough good places to eat off-site & that way your money definately lasts longer! We tend to find that it evens itself out over the holiday, some days costing more than others. We thought that the "sit-down" restaurants on-site were quite pricey compared to what we would expect off-site but we had DDP so it didn't really affect us until tipping.Does $110 include tips?BTW there's a good Ed-Hardy place in the Florida Mall!
SD:thumbsup2

I think you'll be fine, especially if you can eat outwith the theme parks. Just total up what you've spent every few days to make sure you are still within your budget and on track for the rest of your holiday and if not, you can just watch what you are spending for a couple of days. Like Shooby doo, we have days where we spend more than others but it does even out.

I think Florida is a place where it's easy to have a great holiday regardless of budget. We've been a couple of times with a lot of spending money and managed to spend it all fairly easily(love shopping) but other times, we've been on a tight budget and just been more careful about where we eat and made less trips to the shopping malls and had just as good a time.:)

Stop panicking Andrea, that's more than enough! Just avoid ordering too many cocktails from your sunbed around the HRH ... even if the waiters are rather dishy!!!!

You'll be fine :) We had a similar budget in California and though we had credit cards for souvenirs etc it was perfectly adequate for all our meals and snacks (and not along the lines of McDonalds etc!)

I think you will be fine but i would take a credit card as a back up even if you dont use it ...will give you peace of mind

I think you will be fine as long as your not having to many over budget dinners, we budgeted along the same lines on last years trip.

we budget a set amont per day for food.if we dont spend the full amount it rolls over to the next day and so on,again i think you will be fineas we never spend what we budget £100per day for 4 of us.
Quick tip at HRH take your own beer and sodas to pool(we have our own cooler)as its cheaper that paying there bar prices.then again that gose for disney as well
Paulh

That's what we did last year Paul and it worked out well as I could plan in where we would be spending a lot and others that wouldn't be as expensive.

Might have solved my problem...not resorted to a credit card (i have never had one and don't really want one!). Been "extra" nice to DH and he has said that he will give me another £300 which makes it up to £100 per day!! We are not big spenders, have a grocery stop on the way to the HRH which i will buy a cooler and drinks, taxi's are all paid for on DH company credit card so all in all sorted!!:thumbsup2

Thanks for all your replies - and i will try and keep a note of what we spend and on what and let you all know!
