Yet another question about FP planning

Hi all. We are going to WDW in May (18-25). We have 6 day passes - no hoppers. We are onsite for night one and then offsite. What I am trying to settle in my mind is do I plan for the days I want to go to each park and then try to get FP's for those days or pick the must do ride and pick my park days based on available FP's? Does that make sense? I have a picture of the schedule I would like but if we can't get a FP for FoP we aren't waiting in the line for it so I am willing to maneuver the schedule to accommodate the FP for it. Anyway I'm not sure if I'm clear but hoping someone can share their planning strategy. I haven't been to WDW in 8 years. There are 5 of us in the party - 2 teens and 3 adults.

Plan your AK day for late in the trip if you want FoP.

I usually choose my park days and then make the FP. It just goes easier for me that way.

When I did my most recent set of FP, I had an "ideal" day for AK so we could ride FOP and then two back up plans in case we needed to change the ideal plan. We ended up having to go with Plan B in order to get FOP but it worked out fine! FOP was a "must do" for us so we based our plans around FOP.

I think that this would be the best bet. Right now it seems as if FOP is the only one that is difficult to get at 60 days; the other ones (7DMT and FEA) should have availability (though times could be limited) for all days.

However, for OP, if you have one on site and rest off-site, the offsite days are only going to open day by day at the 60 day mark, so getting a FOP may be pretty difficult (check the Throwaway room thread, as this would be a similar situation even though you would be actually using the room). You honestly may need to keep checking over time to see if other FPs open up, as FOPs tend to be sold out for 60+3 days or so. You are also going over Memorial Day weekend, so expect crowds to be tougher and FP availability to be lower (though you may be there for Toy Story Land opening).
