Okay folks, I hope you can help clear up a few things, for me, regarding the Insider Tour.

I found all of the Hidden Mickeys, in VMK, and got the Insider Tour pass. We will be at WDW Christmas week. I am planning to take the pass, first thing in the AM, to reserve our spots (4 of us) for the tour. I've read about people not being able to get on the tour because it was filled up, and I imagine this will become even more common during the busy holiday season. I am wondering, if we are NOT able to get on the tour, will we still be able to do the quests and get the prize cards for these? Also, my DS (who also plays VMK), and I, have several of the printable prizes, from the game - like the Captain Nemo Nautilus chair, wristband, Tent room, etc.. - will we be able to redeem these regardless of going on the tour? If, for whatever reason, we can't get on the tour, it will be disappointing, but I know DS would be truly heartbroken not being able to get any of the virtual prizes.

Also, do they open up the tours each morning, for new sign-ups, or do they allow people to reserve spots the day before?

Thank you, in advance, for any help anyone can provide :earsboy:

I also have the same concern as I will also be at WDW Christmas week. We are afraid that we will not be able to take the tour due to it being filled up ahead of time.

Anyone know the answers.

When you get there, you will need to take the coupon to VMK Central (Main ST Cimema) to redeem it for the VIP tour card. Then go back to guest relations and sign up for the tour. They do fill up fast. But at WDW they will let you sign up for tours a few days in advance as well so if you will be there a few days you should have no problem getting on the tour.
Yes, your PDF's can be redeemed no matter what. You can turn in one of each type for every park ticket in your group (The same with the quests)
It has been reported that they started only allowing 2 people per vip card on the tour. I can't confirm this personally, when we went in August it was for 4 people. But I thought I would mention it, just in case. You can always make a mule and get the hidden Mickeys again for the spare tour card just to be safe .
Hope this helps :)
Christmas is the prettiest time to go to WDW! I love to go check out all the decorations :)

Do we have to take the PDF to VMK Central or can we just take that to Guest Relations?

You have to take the PDF to VMK central. They will give you the tour card there to take to guest relations. Guest relations will not accept the PDF. I think it's because they scan your ticket only at VMK Central.

They'll scan the PDF and your park ticket. I'd ask first about doing the quests, because their computers are now set up for a tour every 90 days. I'd hate for them to scan your PDF and then not let you get the quests redeemed.

The quests still say on them that you can do it every 30 days. However, I tried this at 60 days out and they told me that I have to wait another 30 days because it showed I got the VIP tour card Aug 2. I didn't care about going on the tour again, I just was hoping to get the quest cards for another player.

Ok, I am confused. Should I turn in the quests first and then the tour? We are only there for a few days so I had wanted to try to take the tour first because I am worried about not getting a spot. If they scan my ticket for the tour, will I not be able to turn the quests in later?

Also, this is all tied to the ticket, correct? We have several left over one day tickets and had hoped to get some extra quest items for some friends.

Yes, it is all tied to your ticket, so if you have one day tickets, you can turn in quests each day.

I think I may start buying one day tickets instead of my delux AP. it would probably work out about the same for me. Seems like a mild form of discrimination. Then if I went 45 days with friends it would be ok, or if I didn't have any visitors for months, that would be ok. When you live within driving distance everyone wants to go to Disneyland!

Okay I have one magic your way ticket,2 hopper passes, and a old 7 day hopper ticket with 2 days left so I could techincally redeem 3 tent coupons.

Is this correct?

Thanks

I'm in a similar boat - we're taking the family to WDW for Thanksgiving, so will have a short window, but hope if we make the reservation on Thursday AM that we can at least get in on the tour for Friday or Saturday. Also, we're a family of four (which is what the certificate says it is good for) so hope they're not changing the terms on us.

Another concern I have regards the scanning of the certificate. As I've whined earlier, I never got my certificate for finding 50 Mickeys. But cteddiesgirl here on DIS was good enough to send me her unused certificate. Still, if the certificate is supposedly non-transferable, will that be checked when I try to use it? Do you have to sign on or otherwise identify yourself, or your Disney.com or VMK ID, to porve that you're using your rightful certificate?

I guess I could use a mule to generate a new certificate as some people have suggested, but I really wasn't planning on getting into all that. Hence my question. Still, if being a mule is what I have to do for my kids to get the tour, well.... "Eeee-awww!"

Hi,

I'm down at WDW right now, typing this while the kids take a nap. Did the VMK insider tour by myself today (sniff, sniff, kids were melting down, dw had to take them; kids not have liked the tour anyhow.)

I used the 50 hidden mickey PDF to schedule the tour -- the PDF is redeemed at City Hall, whereas the quests are first redeemed at VMK central and THEN the tour is scheduled at city hall. They will NOT do anything to confirm that your PDF is "yours" -- far as I could tell, they never even bar-scanned it. (Incidentally, I used a mule to get my certificate, because Bezoar never got one either: too early in beta.)

Important note: even if you go to schedule your tour immediately after rope drop, you still might not get on the tour. At WDW (unlike at DLR), you can still schedule your tour days in advance. I went to VMK central and then City Hall basically immediately after rope drop today, and 17 of the 20 spots on the 1:30 tour were already taken. So, show up and try to be flexible with what times you can go.

The tour was fun, exactly as described by others. If anyone has any questions, I'd be happy to answer, but they've all been covered in this forum already. We got to do Jungle Cruise, BTMRR, and the Haunted Mansion.

High point of the tour was... meeting CL_Disfaniam and family! LOL -- was kind of amusing to randomly find out that's who she was. Bizarrely, the tour guide (Jeff) said he remembered meeting Bezoar during beta, but couldn't tell me who his character was.

So, nice to meet you disfaniam! Happy anniversary, and enjoy the rest of your stay ;)

Ok, looks like you can redeem 4(Of each thing) with those. One for each ticket, as long as you didn't redeem any on your leftover tickets.

Well, Belle, you might be able to redeem 4.
1)magic your way ticket 2)park hopper. 3) park hopper, and 4) park hopper with days left.

This same thing happened to me, where I did not get a certificate. However, since you got a certificate from another player, you will be fine. They do not check your VMK identity in any way. They have no way of knowing who earned it. They do scan your ticket when you redeem it. So, you can only redeem one per ticket per 30 or now 90 days. That's it. You shouldn't have any problems. Enjoy your trip!
