Does anyone know of a good self-service laundry facility that's close to WDW, but not on property -- like where locals might go?
I ask because, even though we will be staying on site, we'll have a car and the ability to get around and I'm looking for laundry alternatives. My biggest peeve at WDW is doing laundry. The resort facilities are always too small to accommodate the numbers of people who need to do laundry and some people are just WAY too aggressive about using the machines -- I've actually been cursed at for just opening a stopped machine to see if there was anything in it -- I didn't see anyone around it, but the second I opened that lid, some woman came barrelling at me yelling and cursing me to get away from her machine. Geez. It usually ends up ruining a perfectly good day. Either I have to spend half the day checking back for empty machines, or stay up to some unreasonable hour to get it done.
So this time I'm wondering about off-site alternatives. Maybe there are some large public facilities around that generally aren't too crowded in the middle of the day, as local people are at work. (And maybe they're cheaper than on site, too.) I'd rather spend a couple of hours in a big facility reading a book and doing my laundry than wasting another day trotting around to find an empty machine and being screamed at by some crazed laundry commando. Thanks for any help.
