Yet another global warming thread

There seem to be many people on this board who do not believe that humans are responsible for the current global warming trend. I am just wondering what those of you who hold that viewpoint think are the consequences if you are wrong?

Also, if proof existed that made it undeniable to you that humans were to blame for global warming, what type of action would you want to see to stop it?

I know that I am being a bit of a devil's advocate here. Perhaps this will help us to discover where we do have common ground, however.

I tend to believe there is truth to both sides of the arguement. Nothing in life, especailly something this complex, is all or nothing.

I'm curious to see the answers to your consequences question. Let's face it, if we start acting as if humans are responsible, the consequence will be a cleaner, healthier environment. If we act as if we have nothing to do with it, well, I think it's obvious.

Having lived in So. CA all my life. I see, literally, in the air quality, consistent beach closures etc.... the impact people have on a local level. We don't live in a vacuum. Our actions, or lack thereof, have consequences.....basic cause and effect. I understand those who don't believe in or care about global warming, but I don't understand not wanting a healthier environment for our children and their children etc....

The consequences might be that the gulf stream conveyor will stop and the world will then be a very cold place. Ancient shorelines might reappear.Then after a while the world will heat up again,the ice will melt and those shorelines will again disappear. Oh wait,this has happened even before man existed and will happen again.
Proof cannot exist because it's impossible to compare past global warming periods to today. There is no data. If it makes you feel better,to feel responible,then recycle,stop driving,don't litter.

You are still approaching this as if there are no consequences and you are absolutely right. I am asking what the consequences are if you are wrong? You might even be wrong about another ice age coming in that case.

I do recycle.I try to carpool whenever I can and send my kids on the school bus. I pick up other people's litter, let alone don't litter myself.
