Yet another Christmas Day question....

If we are not eating out, I had thought about catering in our villa. My next question is.... are the supermarkets as crazily busy as they are here at Christmas? I'd hate to have to schedule a lengthy food shop into my already packed itinery!!!

we get to florida at 7pm christmas eve, and apparently walmart shuts at 6pm, so we are having the management company do a food shop for us.

but a big plus is that we are having christmas dinenr at the rainforest cafe at downtown Disney as theyre open

so it is possible to cater in the villa as long as you go shopping before 6pm xmas eve lol

To be honest we expected a lot more places to be open on Christmas Day, we got in at about 8pm on Christmas Day and everywhere was shut - DH went out and found some place that did KFC ish stuff but apart from that everwhere was shut. I would imagine as Anna said that you will be fine as long as you get in before Christmas Eve.

Whilst many of the local restaurants will be closed on Christmas Day all the hotel (not just the Disney resorts) restuarants will be open and available to book.

We have eaten at Bomas in AKL on previous Christmas nights and this year will be booking the Christmas Buffet at Celebration Hotel once they start taking reservations.

All the restaurants in DTD will be open too.

We have found the supermarkets to be quiet in the run up to Christmas - certainly nothing at all like the mad frenzy of buying that goes on here - which is great *** that is exactly what I am escaping from. The thought of cooking a Christmas dinner in a strange kitchen is not what I go on holiday for!

Everyone is different and I'm sure you will enjoy yourselves whatever you decide to do.
