Yet another Chef Mickey Question

I really wanted for us to try Chef Mickey's, but I could only get it for the last night of our trip. Our ADR is 5:05, but we are going to the P&PP that night, and really want to be lined up for Cap. Jack as early in the party as possible.

We are doing other character meals earlier in the trip (bkfst at CP and bkfst at Tusker, lunch at CRT), and I'm sure by our 7th day of the trip we will have seen Mickey...so Chip & Dale would be the only "new" characters at Chef Mickey at that point in our trip...is it possible to see them somewhere else?

What do you all think? Is Chef Mickey a unique and fun enough experience for it to not seem redundant at this point in our trip? Should I keep this ressie or cancel it and plan on grabbing CS or something and lining up for Cap. Jack?

:confused3

If it were my family, we would keep the Chef Mickey ADR, & just show up early for it.
My kids love that place.

EVERY time we go there, we arrive 15 minutes early at the podium & they seat us right away each time.

Thanks, Daisy! It looks like they open at 5 (according to Deb's site). If our ADR is at 5:05, should we try to go at like 4:45ish to be there a bit early?

Oh I'm sorry. Someone else will have to answer that for you. We have never had an ADR at opening time. I didn't know they open at 5:00. I'm not sure if showing up early then will help or not.

We had a 5 p.m. ressie last June. We did not leave until about 6:30 p.m. We were seated very quickly and had been in line about 10 - 15 minutes before they opened. It took time to eat there so it would really depend on what time you wanted to be in line for Capt. Jack!

As far as seeing Chip and Dale, they are every where in the parks. Last time we were at Chef Mickeys, we saw Mickey, Minnie, Chip n Dale, Goofy, and Pluto I believe. It has been a while since we were there last.

Hi OP...I just remembered something...Chip & Dale are no longer appearing at Chef Mickey's...so don't go there if you want to see them.

When asked, I always tell people Chef Mickey's is a MUST, especially if it's their first time to WDW or they are only planning 1 or 2 character meals. But our family LOVES Chef Mickeys....we do a breakfast AND a dinner there every trip:cool1: :cool1:.

As previous post Chip & Dale are no longer there. People do start lining up early, but they don't start seating until 5. If your back a ways it may take a few minutes to seat you. You need to allow an hour for dinner if you want to see all characters, otherwise you can be in/out quickly. You could do it and still be in MK by the time the party starts.
Personally, I would skip Chef Mickey's (which I do like) and do something inside the park. P & P party I went to in Feb. was not busy, but the line for Capt. Jack was. You definitely want to see the parade & the fireworks, so I'd go for getting in line for CJ so you don't miss the rest.
