Yet another AP question???

I thought by purchasing the AP that you would automatically get an AP rate. After reading these boards I am obviously wrong. We will be going the end of next April/early May and I am hearing that those rates probably won't be out until Jan or Feb. How do I know when the AP rates are out for the time I'm going? Who do I call to get them? Do I have to call the same day they come out ?
I have already booked through 1-407-WDISNEY. Would I have a better chance of getting an AP rate by letting Small World Travel handle my trip? Or is it just as easy to get the rate on my own?

Keep watching the boards here...everyone generally finds out a day or 2 before they'll be released. (also - mousesavers.com is a great resource). We've never booked through a travel agency, so I can't help you there - we just call and call and call until we get the rate we want after it's been released.

But you are correct - just because you have an AP, does NOT guarantee you an AP rate. There are only a select amount of rooms available at AP rates...once they are gone, they are gone.

yes - people with vouchers can get these rooms
yes - people with activated AP's can get these rates
yes - people who intend to purchase an AP the day they go down there can get these rates.

For our December trip - we were only able to get 1 room at an AP rate (we needed to book 2) AP holders are able to get an AP rate for up to 3 rooms...only 1 was available at the time we were going...so we're paying a discount on one, rack rate on the other.
