Yet another AP question

I phrase it like that 'cause I'm sure somewhere something like this has been asked, but considering how many AP question threads there are, any searhes I've done haven't come up with what I'm looking for.

Next month I'm heading to DL, and will buy a new AP. We plan to arrive on Friday night, but not hit the parks until Saturday. The park closes at 12 the night we arrive.

The question is this: If I go to the ticket booth to buy my AP Saturday night, but not go into the park until Friday, will my pass be good from that Saturday? I ask because that Saturday will be my birthday, and as the APs are good for a year and a day, I'm hoping to make it good for this year's b-day as well as next year's. I also want to minimize my time worrying about getting the AP on Saturday (my birthday).

 If the part in bold is supposed to read, "buy my AP Friday night, but not go into the park until Saturday," The answer to your question is yes. If you truly meant the sentence I have bolded as you typed it, then I am confused. Let us know what exactly you are asking. :goodvibes

Man, I'm more tired than I thought! Either that or the talks of Dr. Who from one of my recent visit to the board made me think I could time travel...

Yep, meant buy Friday, enter Saturday.

Thanks!

hehe no worries, we've all been there! :goodvibes

You will activate your AP when you use it for the first time. In your scenerio: Saturday.

IF you are buying a Deluxe AP, have you seen this pretty little deal?

Doesn't help if you want Premium APs though.

But if you are buying a Premium, why not just buy the voucher through disneyland.com? They sometimes have a coupon that prints out with the AP voucher, and you don't have to stop at any ticket booth at all. Just take the voucher to the gate, they print you some sort of ticket-like thing, and you'd later take that to get your pix taken and the real card given.

Just a little time saver, to not have to visit the ticket booth, if you buy the AP with electronic delivery online. :)

(and then of course there's the Costco deal at Southern CA Costcos right now, so if you're a member and if you have time to stop in on Friday before Costco closes, and if they have APs left, you can get the AP for the normal rate but also get a $50 Disney GiftCard when you exchange the voucher (which I think you do have to do at the ticket booth but a $50 giftcard might be worth ticket booth heck). :upsidedow

Thanks all.

I'm a DVC member, so I can get a premium AP for the price of the renewal. That's why I didn't renew right away, 'cause it's essentially the same price (I guess maybe if there was a price increase, I may have saved that way, but considering the months since my last trip, it wasn't worth it). However, I have to buy the pass at the park if I want my DVC discount.
