Yet another ? about dressing for dinner

I have read it is at the parents discretion as to what children should
wear to dinner. I am packing to leave in the morning and wondered
what childen are usually dressed like. My boys 4 and 6 have very
some really nice shorts and polo like shirts that would look nice
for maybe PC or should I stick to the pants rule for them too?

If for nothing else, it sometimes gets chilly in the dining rooms so pants would be better for that. They will only be wearing them for dinner so 1 pair for the Wonder cruises & 2 pair for the Magic should be fine.

You will see younger kids in nice shorts outfits but like tstobb said it can be chilly in the dining room.

When I was on the Wonder in November 2002, I did bring pants for both of my kids 1 1/2 and 4 1/2 at the time. The main reason I did bring pants, because I was afraid it would be too cold in the dining rooms for shorts, and I was right!! It is awfully cold there, and I think anyone in shorts would be FREEZING!!! DH wore khakis and a short sleeve polo one night and was freezing!!! I always brought a sweater along, and sometimes needed it. Bring the pants, your children will be more comfortable and warm!!

this got me thinking, if it's too cold for a child to wear shorts, won't it be too cold for me to wear a dress? my kid is always warmer than I am!

I agree with Anne on this one. If it's a sundress with spaghetti straps, yes I'd think you'd be cold without a sweater.

Pack a lightweight sweater (off white,white, or black) that you can wear with just about anything just in case you need it. I was glad I had mine!
