OK we have been going to the world as so many now call it only since Dec. 1996 and have fell in love and have stayed at many of the resorts. My ? is what price did you pay for any on resort property on your very 1st visit? Hopefully there will be some who stayed at the world way back when when there was only 2 resorts!! Keep this going, Chip. PS I love trivia and history!!

We used to stay at the Contemporary back in the early 80's. It was about $85 for a tower room. What I would give to pay that now for a tower room!!!

October 1977 - Contemporary Tower - $62.40 a night with tax!
This was our first of many trips. Our boys were 5,7,9 - will never forget their faces while sitting on the balcony the first night, facing Bay Lake waiting for the 'water show'!! At that time we thought it was a LOT of money for a hotel room - boy have times changed!!!!

We stayed at Carribean Beach on our honeymoon in Oct. 1990 and it was $64 a night.

Our first trip was in July 1994. I booked 4 nights at WL for 2 adults, 13yr old DS and 11 yr old DD. It was a package and included park admission. It cost $1400 and when we checked in, we received $250 in Disney dollars. The rack price for WL was $189 a night.

My first trip was March 14-17, 1972. Polynesian Village Hotel, any guesses?..............................28.00/night!

i think about 1990 or so, i suprised by wife with a spur of the moment overnight stay at cbr while driving across florida to visit my parents in clearwater for the holidays. we had always stayed off-site, but that trip spoiled us: we have not stayed off-site since!we just loved the magic of being imersed in the "world." i think we still have every mickey soap, shampoo, and conditioner bottle!
even though it was a couple of days before xmas, the rate was $89.00 for the night.

I think my mom told me that when we went in 1975 she paid around $30/night (I can't remember the exact amt. she told me) for LV at the Polynesian in what is now the Polynesian's concierge building.

It may have even been a little cheaper since some one my parents knew, knew some one who worked for Disney at the time and got us the room.

Ah....those were the days.......

But 9 more days til I go to the Polynesian......Yeah.......

Polynesian 1992. We had a package but stayed an extra night which cost $104.
(First visit in 1980 but stayed offsite. Just had to say that.)

Don't remember excactly what we paid in the 80's, but it was a package deal, around $550 each for 5days/4nites CR(wings), included airfare, hotel, and passes. :):D:)

Beach Club 1992 $148 a night including tax, which was a travel agent rate.

Hilton Junior suite 1st floor $89 a night plus tax TA rate in 1993

Our first "on property" stay was in May 1992 at the Disney Inn (now SOG) for $90 a night with tax. I miss that hotel, they had such "roomy" guest rooms in a beautiful wooded setting.

Our second "on property" stay a year later was a POLY marina view for $129.25 a night with tax.

In 1995 we stayed at the WL for $119.50 a night including tax.

These were all "Florida Resident" special rates.

Our first trip was in 1979.
We stayed for 3 nights at the Poly, with NO reservation.

We paid $69 a night, not including tax.

Those were the days...........
