Well the kids and I made a surprise trip to Disneyland yesterday. I thought that since it was a Monday and the weather wasn't great then the crowd level would be lower. We parked in Mickey and Friends and were excited because we parked right next to the escalator. We came down to tram level and were slammed with an enormous amount of people. They had both side of the tram pick up running and the lines were so long that they were running into each other!!! After 3 trams or so we got on and got to the park. Not surprisingly the security checkpoint lines were crazy too. Since it was raining the sidewalks were so slippery! I felt like I was walking on ice! We got into the park and headed straight to HM. The wait time said 13 mins (although I think that the time might be stuck that way). The line went fast and the kids LOVED the ride. All in all the crowds were pretty bad. The waits weren't too bad at first. We decided to FP Indiana Jones because it was a 45 min wait! I was so glad that we did. Our longest wait after that was Toy Story at 30 mins! I love that ride!!! A nice surprise is Space Mountain only had a 10 min wait. I am hoping to go again next week to show my husband the Halloween decorations! I can't wait to see it all again and hopefully the crowds won't be there this time!!

Annnnnnnnd so it begins. Hahahah. I guess this just confirms that next week will likely be even busier. I think this week was the start of the gay days discounts since this weekend is gay days....guess I better take a deep breath and just dive right into the crowds!!!

Wow that sounds crazy busy!

How do you guys think October 22nd will be? It's a Wednesday?

I am going tomorrow and will report back on Thursday. I always take pictures of the crowds and the time boards, so that will give a good indicator of the "low times" during the rest of the month. I consider a Wednesday when nothing is going on a low time...

I am prepared to just go with it:thumbsup2

Welcome to Fall Break folks!

Our AAA office ran out of DL tickets because one of our school districts has this week off and a lot of people were headed to DL.

Wow...that's very different from last week! I was there on Friday, and (at least before noon) almost nothing had a standby line over 15 minutes - Indy was 15, Buzz was practically a walk-on, Haunted Mansion was 5-10, BTMR was < 10, Space was < 10. Peter Pan was 20, though. Over at DCA everything was 15 or less except Toy Story Mania, and it was only 20. I'm glad I went on Friday and not this week!!!

I just had an urge to go again today. I was trying to find a way to sneek in a couple hours today, lol. OMG just as I am typing this I have the news on and the newscaster is at Disneyland!!! I think that's a sign!!!:yay:

Not to hijack the thread, but anybody have any thoughts on what crowds will be like for 11/13-16? Last year we were there 11/16-20 and it was very crowded, but 11/16 was the official start of the holiday season as it was the Friday before Thanksgiving. I know it should be better than that, but I don't know how much better!

Okay, I was absolutely panic-stricken until I looked at the calendar, Thurs, 11/13 is NOT Veterans Day, according to my calendar, Veterans Day is November 11, probably observed on Mon, November 10. Looking at the DL calendar, this makes sense, as that Monday and Tuesday DL's hours are 8-12, but for Wednesday and Thursday, the day I arrive, the hours are only 10-8. I'm hoping this means that big crowds are not anticipated. For the weekend the hours are Fri 9-12 and Saturday and Sunday 8-12, but I'm hoping that's just typical for weekends....LOL, hoping anyway!

I don't know, but I do know that we will be there!!!! Going to be in the parks on Wednesday - Saturday the 22nd through the 25th. Maybe we'll see you there. Got your LGM?

We went at this time last year and it wasn't too bad. We plan on crowds and if there aren't any, we are pleasantly surprised. Have a great trip!!!

The crowds will still be there. People come for Veteran's Day weekend and take a few extra days to "beat the crowds." Sadly, everyone else has the same idea. It won't be as bad at the days prior to your arrival (The Park has been known to stop selling tickets on Veterans Weekend due to crowds), but it will not be empty.

I would not feel panicked, but just know it will be crowded and enjoy.

Ah, and so it begins! Shame it gets so crowded, the decorations and everything are so nice this time of year. But I guess everyone wants to see them, can't say I blame them! :)

We were surprised about the crowds too. Friday the 26th was the least crowded day until the evening. Saturday wasn't bad (we were at DCA). Sunday on was terrible. Now we know to avoid the very end of September/and October when the Halloween stuff gets going.

Th the 25th was fine, so I was expecting another slow day Tues the 30th. NOT! I wasn't prepared with my touring plan for a busy day, so we made a few mistakes, but it turned out O.K. Heading to CA in the afternoon helped. Still had fun, of course. :goodvibes
