That interview made me love Katherine Jackson. I watched Joe Jackson tap dance, avoid, and deny the whole "beating" thing and then she outed him. Priceless. I'm thinking the woman doesn't lie.

I saw that too. I think it's a Mongolian spot. It's very common in African American children. They are mainly on the bum. Mine is actually on my arm.

I'm just restating what our pediatrician told us. My daughter has one across her bum. I'm pretty sure Katherine Jackson has Native American blood in her.

She was being honest.

Many black people DID raise their children that way. I'm 42, I don't know anyone that I grew up with that wasn't spanked with a belt.

My mom whipped us with a belt, but she'd pull off her shoe for backup!!!

They are light; they aren't white. If you ever see them beside a white person, it would be obvious that they have an olive skin tone. Blanket's is a few shades darker, but they are all three olive skinned.

A lot of people seem to think that when you have kids with one white parent and one black parent, its like mixing brown and peach paint. There is a lot more involved than that. MJ's father is mixed with white and Native American. He has blue eyes and almost straight hair. Even if MJ did not look mixed, he had those genes as well, and can pass those on. A person with blue eyes has nothing but blue eyed genes to contribute, so all Joe Jackson's kids would have a blue eyed gene, along with a brown eyed gene. Debbie Rowe had blue eyes as well, so any child they had together would have around a 75% chance of having blue eyes.

I am not saying the two older kids are MJ's, but they aren't the product of two white people. They are mixed with hispanic or black.

Here is my ex with my son and his second child. Both have blue eyes and are much lighter than him. Both have had paternity tests and they ARE his. He is darker than MJ ever was, and neither of his parents have blue eyes.

That's what I want to know.
From what I get they just dropped the kids off on her because they either couldn't afford to take care of them OR they just don't want to take care of them.

I thought it was weird/strange that MJ's kids always wore masks - UNTIL he died - I remember a reporter outside the house, who, when people were wondering where the kids were, said, "they could be out here selling lemonade, for all we know, we've never seen them"... that was his goal, to provide anonyminity for them, and it looks like he did that, at least until he died.

I heard the two older ones were going to be part of his new show, so maybe they were about to be unmasked, so to speak.

I read today that 4 of the kids, including Jermajesty and his brother and 2 others plus their mother Alexandria, I think, are moving out by the end of the year. Katherine says it is just too chaotic with all those kids.

Blanket is very clearly Michael's biological offspring. He looks just like his dad did at that age.

As for the other two, michael may not have been their biological father, but like any adopted child that doesn't make Michael any less their FATHER.

I didn't think the interview was all that great. Oprah always inserts herself into the interviews which I don't want to hear about. But I do watch her since she gets some good exclusive interviews. Watching someone like Barbara Walters or Diane Sawyers interview, I don't know about their personal lives during the interview. Oprah always wants to put her 2 cents in "what I learned from Maya Angelou" or "I know John Travolta and he told me...". I don't care for that style.

I have a friend whose dh is half black- he looks hispanic- their little son on the other hand is WHITE and I mean WHITE. The child is whiter than either one of his parents. Blonde hair, blue eyes and skin so pale you can see his veins through it. Genetics are a funny thing.....

I'm 44, and my mom used a hair brush -- same effect.

All of my friends were treated the same way. No one tried to reason with us or soften the punishment when we did wrong. As a generation, we were more respectful, harder working, and better behaved than kids today.

Certainly that wasn't the only difference between "then and now", but it was one big one.

I Honestly don't mean to offend anyone but maybe an Black DISer can help me understand something. When I was little and first learned about slavery I always wondered why the Black folks who hit their children with belts weren't more sensitive against that since Black folks were whipped during slavery. I know there's no comparison with the brutality of the slave beatings but I could never understand why they would use the same method even though it wasn't done brutally. Please forgive my ignorance but I just want to understand.

I think they all live off of Katherine. I have read that many of the Jackson brothers are bankrupt or broke...I think one is a grocery store worker....
so...imho....Katherine's house is free (Michael paid it off for her I read) and she gets income (again from Michael) and she can support the kids...I am guessing the parents live there too...just didn't want to be filmed.

She lied many times in that interview (or, to be charitable, she hedged the truth). She and Joe may not be divorced, but she has legally filed for divorce at least twice over the years and he has lived in Las Vegas for years, so the whole "where on earth would you ever get the idea we're divorced?" bit was silly. As was declaring that she didn't know Michael had a problem and brushing off the whole arriving at court in pajamas as a problem with having to rush to the hospital (as if anybody on the DIS, let alone somebody with a retinue of servants, wouldn't have somebody bring them a change of clothes, knowing they had nothing appropriate to wear to court.) Of course most folks wouldn't dance on the roof of their limosine outside the courtroom either, but that didn't appear suspicious to her.

I'm no MJ expert but from what i understand, they played with the children of the people who were around him (record producers, etc.). The idea behind covering their faces was so that when they (the kids) went out in public without MJ they wouldn't be recognized. I once heard they went to Disneyland with the family of one MJ's record producers without MJ along, and they were able to have a normal day at a theme park because no one knew who they were.

If I was as famous as MJ, I'd seriously consider doing the same to my own kids.

Michael Jackson was hardly the most famous person ever. There have been more famous children than his, but no one else found that mask thing necessary.

REAL princes in Europe never needed to wear masks. Here in the US version of royalty, children of presidents don't wear masks, go to school and manage very well

Jackson's own children have been "out" for over a year and a half and haven't suffered any negative consequences from it. They aren't getting even a thenth of the scrutiny that Suri Cruise or the Pitt-Jolie children get.

The mask stunt was done to satisfy Jackson's ego, IMO
