I'll be in California next week I'm so excited!
This trip is going to have a few 'Firsts' for me.
First time going on vacation alone/flying alone
And most importantly....my first time staying at a Disney hotel!
I'm so excited I'm going to cry :confused:

I was wondering has anyone stayed at the Paradise Pier and how is it?
Do they have/are there any places near by with free wifi?

Also, I know that you can get things (a button) at the park when its your birthday, but how about do they do anything for 'un-birthdays'? ;)

excited :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

We stayed there on our last two trips, and enjoyed it. I really want to do the DLH this time around, but my son wants to go back to the PP because of the waterslide. We will see.

The rooms are clean and I didn't find the walk to the parks difficult at all. There is another secret route that takes you to the parks quickly, but I could never figure it out.

Love PPH!

The route is:

Go out the *front* door. Not the back/side, like the signs inside the hotel tell you. Go to the crosswalk, cross over to the Grand Californian and go in the big front sliding doors.

If going to DCA, follow the signs through the hotel (you pass by Storytellers, etc).

If going to DL, after you enter the hotel, take a left down a corridor. Follow the corridor along (if you have a stroller or wheelchair, there's a ramp on the left) until you find sliding glass doors on the right. Go out those doors, follow the outside/courtyard path until you enter DownTown Disney (you'll be in between Studio 365 and Sephora, with Haagen Dasz across from you), turn right, and you'll soon be at bagcheck!

The hotel has internet included in the Resort Fee (if paying room only, that will be an extra 13.50 per night...if booking a package it's included, and if staying on DVC points it's waived or included too). Officially it's wired internet. But the reality for our stays (3 stays) is that wifi waves don't understand the concept of doors, walls, ceilings, and floors, and even up on the 14th floor, we were able to get a wireless signal on the laptop.

You can go find Alice and the Mad Hatter and mention it's your unbirthday! you could get a birthday button, but have them write UN before birthday. :)
