Just returned today from my stay at the Poly. Wanted to let you know that I was able to have my prepurchased tickets from Ticketmania put on the room key without any problems. This really worked out great, only one card per person instead of two. I also used the room key to purchase everything.....from one Mickey pop to all meals and souvies. This eliminated the 5lbs of change we always end up with! Just had to tell some of the vendors it wasn't the meal plan, but a charge. A few were very confused by the meal plan.

That's good to know, thanks. But maybe you can help me with this question. We have a room only ressie and have tickets from ticketmania. There are 4 of us. Will we get 4 room keys? We have always purchased packages in the past so this room only thing is new to me. TIA :wave2:

Room-only or package, doesn't matter - you get a room key for each person on the reservation. These also serve as your resort id's for EMH.

Do you just hand them the tickets that you have and then they scan them and then put them on your room key card and throw your other tickets away? I would LOVE to do this and that way I'm not having to keep up with some many different things!!!
THANKS for the info,

I'd like to know also. Our trip at the end of August is room-only w/sep. tix bought from Ticket Mania. One less thing to keep track of is a good thing!!

How does this work for split stays. We are staying at OKW from 1/1/06-1/6/06 and then transferring to WL for the weekend. Will they be able to put the tickets (most likely 8-day hoppers) on the OKW tickets and then the remaining days on WL when we check in there?

I have another question about adding the tickets onto your room key: Can they still do this if there will be "extra" ticket left at the end of the stay? We are buying 10 day non-expiry tickets, but will only be using some of those days this trip. We also booked the dining package, so had to purchase one day base tickets w/ the package - will they still put the other tickets on the room key?

(I know, you ask why I am unnecessarily complicating things, right? Financially, after the mousesavers discount on the 10 day super-plus everything tickets, subtracting that from the amount we would pay full price to disney for the same tickets, the one-day one-park tickets are costing us $16.25 each. Since I know we will only visit one park on our arrival day (1/2 day), for $16.25 I figured that would save valuable full days on the non-expiring tickets for the next trip with the kids!)

When I checked in the keys were already made. As the CM was dealing with paper work I asked if the tickets I already bought could be put on the room key. He said yes but that he'd have to make new keys. He made some kind of a mistake doing this and another CM had to help out. The process took 20 minutes. Everyone got a room key which was also their park ticket. I had charging privelages put on mine, my dh and my ds11. Each persons name was printed on their card. The CM took my Ticketmania tickets from me.

I don't know if you could do this when splitting your stay. I guess ask the CM upon check in.

I also don't know about doing this if you purchased extra days. Again, just ask.

That about covers it. It's not hard to do, honest. :)

The front desk CM at the resort has the capability of taking the unused days from the first resort and adding it to the resort ID of the second resort. Just an FYI: some CM's will not do the ID to ID transfer if the ticket is an expiring one.

They cannot mix multiple tickets on your resort ID. If you have your package tickets put on there (and they automatically will be) then you cannot add your separately purchased ticket to it.

Thanks! Since they can't "mix" the tickets, that addresses ALL my questions! LOL - :disrocks:

One thing that I would like to add -- the CM that checks you in (aka the "Front Desk") will not be able to do this for you. You will need to go over to Lobby Concierge (aka "Guest Services") and they will be able to transfer existing ticket media onto the room key.

This is a NEW thing for Lobby Concierge, so please be patient if you encounter a CM who might be unfamilliar with the process. Although it can be done with MOST ticket media, there are some tickets that it cannot be done with.

One other thing... make sure to ask the CM when they do this to an older ticket if it will convert the ticket to a Magic Your Way ticket. If the ticket does get converted to a MYW ticket, it should retain the park hopping feature, but might lose the no-expire option. I'm not 100% sure, since I don't have the screens in front of me, but it's something to ask about when they do it. (Only applies to older "Park Hoppers" and whatnot)

My understanding is that not every CM knows how to do this as well as other CMs, so different guests may have different experiences as a result, depending on the extent to which the specific CM they encounter has been trained to do this specific thing.

So if I have this right... I can purchase my tickets and room seperately and have the tickets put on the room card? That is great! How about this... if I check into Pop for 2 nights then move to BCV for 5 nights then back to Pop for one more night I can have my MYOW tickets put on the original Pop room key and then transferred to the BCV and back to Pop? That is really what we are looking to do but we didn't know if we could. :goodvibes :cool1:

It is theoretically possible to do that but I have heard "through the grapevine" ;) that if the tickets are the expiring ones, they will not do it.

Chip & Dale--Here's another question. If I order my MYW tickets and use the "will call" option (so I don't have to worry about losing them), can the lobby concierge add these to my room key? If not, can the lobby concierge issue hard tickets?

Also, thanks for taking the time to answer. It's great to have someone in the know.
