Yes, we still have to be parents.

Happy to share such wonderful (I my opinion) information with everyone!

This list really gives me perspective when I feel like a 'bad mommy'... :) Nice to hear I am not alone !!!:lovestruc

Just read it to my kids....they rolled their eyes but they also know that they have parents who believe in it (even though we've never seen it formalized like that).

I can't imagine trying to get my kids on something for which they are too short. I assume it's a safety thing and wouldn't want to risk my kids' safety over any attraction.

Some times NO really is the acceptable answer.

Surely you jest??

Rules do not exist for MY children. My children are practically perfect. Their fragile little egos will be destroyed if I tell them "no." They'll never love me, and they'll tell their therapists that they're unloved and unwanted.

No, rules do not exist for MY precious little bundles of joy.

Rules are for OTHER people's kids.

:lmao::lmao:

Today I saw a wonderful instance of totally awesome parenting. I got on a 3/4 full bus to go home from my parents house. By the time my train arrived, the bus was already almost full so there weren't any single seats available. I ended up at the back of the bus in front of a mom and her 2 kids. The first one was laying down in the back row taking up the entire row. The second kid (who had to be like 4 maybe?) was screaming about how his brother got to do it so he wanted to do it. So what does she do? She actually moves to a completely different row and lets the 4 year old have a whole row to himself because he was screaming about it. Ever heard of NO. Between the 3 of them, they took up 5 seats in 3 different rows. :scared1: Then a little while later, the 2 kids decided that it would be fun to fight each other so rather than confine them to the back row where they wouldn't annoy anyone but her, she moves them to the row just behind me. Ugh. Thanks lady! I promise, they'll still have self-esteem even if you say no.

Wow... my 11 year old son stood on almost every bus and monorail for an entire week.

And he jumped to give up his seat to a pregnant woman on the monorail-- she said that she had done a lot of standing while seemingly-able-bodied kids and adults sat.

Unfortunately , how many times do we see post right here on the dis with people p.o'ed at disney because Disney did not make "exceptions" for their special situation? How many people do we encourage to break the "no pool hopping" rule because Auntie Em from florida wants to visit and we'd like the whole family to swim at our resort. Can you imagine the uproar if disney tried to enforce that rule.
What would happen if the cm's actually started enforcing the fast pass time with people who show up 30 mins late and still want to use their fast pass? I've bet you've seen a guest or two who was trying to get their kids past the height requirement on rides, I surely have.

You gotta admit, if you're some poor college kid working at Disney and you've got some parent in your face, most likely upset because a rule is being enforced, well :confused3

Heck, how many times do we hear the line " I've paid XXXX thousands of dollars I should be able to _______

Eliza, I agree with you 100%.

I have read so many threads in regard to WDW not making a trip memorable by not allowing _____ (fill in the blank).
